So after 2 years I finally completed my Key anime amv. I had the idea pop into my head the moment I found out Kanon was gonna be remade by KyoAni. I decided to wait until Clannad had aired before doing it but 1 or 2 eps wasn’t going to hurt my project anyway….so I went and finished it up.

Well this basically concludes ALL the episodes of Sumomomomomomo. Episode 24 was kinda lame because it included some angry loli who wanted to create chaos so that she could continue making weapons for people to use. So the latest craze that seems to hit the anime fanart world is Tegaki. It’s been popular in Japan before but recently someone had opened up an English version for English speakers to post their doodles. Tegaki is basically a Java/Flash version of MS Paint. Your tools are just pencils and colors. The rest is up to you. This makes it interesting to see who will post random doodles and who spends countless of hours making their art looks just as good as someone in an art program.

I decided to jump on the bandwagon because this is a good chance for me to practice my drawing since I got the coloring thing down but my proportions look like crap as always.

It’s also a good way to get yourself to practice the basics, because in a tegaki, if you don’t have that down, the rest looks like crap and won’t make your picture look any better. Give it a shot if you want to improve your drawing or at least give yourself an excuse to draw more often.

Prints I’ll be selling at the con.

So here I am preparing for Anime Boston. I have been on & off but it’s crunch time now because it’s only 2 weeks away. My biggest worry is my Haruhi doujinshi. The guy who was supposed to print it originally told me in early February that his printer broke. I had then go with another printer and my order has been “print pending” on their stupid que for the last 3 weeks. I requested this stuff to be mailed no later than March 11th so I guess I won’t panic just yet. If I end up at the con with only 8 leftover doujinshis though they will feel the wrath of my fangirl rage. Continue Reading »

This week Naruto has diarrhea so he uses the powers of Pepto Bismol to get back in shape…er (*inhales deep breath) I mean Naruto, Yamato and Sakura question Sai’s motives in Oro’s base. Sai makes up some bullcrap about how he’s following Danzo’s orders to destroy Konoha and then they tie him up with wooden boners outside the cave. Sai then tells Naruto to stop chasing Sasuke’s ass (for buttsecks) because he’s more interested in hanging (and doing) Orochimaru (and maybe Kabuto for kicks & giggles.) Also in the omake all the NaruSaku communities are squealing over a 1 second pan of Naruto holding a bunch of shopping bags for Sakura. (*exhales) Continue Reading »

When I think of Ronald McDonald what comes to mind are all those McDonalds Happy Meal commercials with Ronald and his big furry suit friends and a bunch of lolis and shotas begging him for toys and fries. In Japan, the McDonalds commercials refer to Happy Meals as “Happy Sets” and Ronald is referred to as “Donald”. (I guess it would be a pain for them to say ロナルド-ミクドナルド.) For some reason though, the Japanese Ronald says “RAN RAN RUUU” a lot and because of this it has turned into a meme on niconico.

Recently NicoNico’s been going through the Caramell Dansen phase and needless to say Ronald (or should I say Donald?) was included in the insanity. The result produced an incredibly addictive song that can be used as a good exercise video, or in my case I really want it to be my cell phone ring tone. Continue Reading »

Clannad is starting to remind me of this song by B’z called “Lady-Go-Round“. (Which was actually translated by me back in my B’z fangirl days.) It’s like 1 girl comes, goes, next one arrives. While I think their temporary kicking of Nagisa out of the picture is a good way to focus on the other girls’ stories - the fact that they’re trying to smush Tomoyo AND Kyo/Ryo it’s starting to become some kind of nabe pot, and not the good kind.
