I haven’t been keeping up with Kagamine Rin & Len songs as much as Miku ones since they are less popular. Someone on my DA watch list did a fanart for a song called “Gekokujou” which according to jim breen means “retainer supplanting his lord” or “juniors(Rin & Len) dominating seniors (Miku & Kaito)”. I really got addicted to the song but the problem is as a running gag they use all sorts of old timey kanji and it doesn’t help that Rin & Len never pronounce any of their lyrics properly. So here I am sitting and listening to this happy song but I can only catch words like “road roller” and “gekokujou”

So umm yea for my own personal understanding I’ve attempted to translate the lyrics…but I figured I’d share for anyone else who liked this song and wanted to know wtf they’re singing about ^^; If anyone has corrections please let me know, I’m not confident in my old Japanese translations Continue Reading »

Alright I give up. I spent the last hour trying to figure out why the hell my Gravatar CSS is so screwed up and they keep stacking on top of each other…but to no avail. And the best part is the Gravatar developer decided he’s gonna stop working on the plugin…so no help there either. If anyone knows a solution to this problem (to make the damn things stand STILL and not float around like Christmas Tree ornaments) please help. I normally would not ask for help like this but both JP and I are pretty much stumped here. OTL

So DS brought up this idea: Let’s run an anime blogger panel at new york anime festival! I thought “eh why, it would be all boring like that ANN panel last year” but then I thought from another point of view… It can be BETTER than the ANN panel cause we don’t need to talk about main stream licensed shit. I have been regretting little by little for registering for Anime Next and after the flood of incoherent teenage brats who flamed my Sakura Matsuri post, the lack of communication from the artist alley, and the fact that the anime next website goes down at least once a day has increased my general downturn on the whole thing. I only registered because someone invited me to help them with a panel on eroge/otome games and at the time I was really excited to help - but now I wish I never agreed to do this. Nothing against the panelists or the panel itself, but frankly I have this disgusted feeling at this whole thing to the point where I don’t want to contribute anything to anyone there. So the last couple days I’ve been hammering along at the script and working out the paths and menu choices. I even bugged Tom, the Ren’Py creator, to help me out at the beginning when I realized that there would be possibilities of going on a character’s path without being properly introduced to them. Thankfully he helped me get that working so all is well in that aspect. While I haven’t really done any new artwork, I’ve been playing around with photoshop filters to achieve a less photoey but still a nice background to use during the character dialogue. For event CGs, I was actually going to draw a background, but perhaps do it otome game style where it’s a flat color with sparkles & bubbles all around lol. As far as status goes, at this point I got the “main branches” done, and Jen and CJ’s routes also done, bad ends inclusive! The next 2 routes are going to be difficult for me but I can’t go into detail to avoid spoilers. And for the inquiring minds, yes I plan to stick Impz in there as a resident trap. (He does already have some dialogue early in the story.)

Here’s a question I bring to you. I began to write a little dialogue here & there (although it’s mostly placeholders) and I found myself going “holy shit this is SO CORNY.” Is corny ok? I mean aren’t these kinds of things supposed to be corny? I wanna bang my head against the desk when I write some of these sentences XD The other thing is, how does one express love in English? I mean in Japanese you always have your おまえのことが好きです！ but then in English do you say I love you? Or I really like you? Or I want to be with you? I mean I’m having difficulty deciding on what the heck to write. I’m gonna have JP proof read my script since he was an English major after all but for these kinds of things I wonder what’s the best way to approach it?

So between last week and now, I actually read all of the Soul Eater manga released in Japan to date..meaning I’m up to ch. 47 and past volume 11. This means I have a crapload of spoilers but I know a lot of people have not read this far so I’m having a hairy time figuring out a good way to blog this show. Should I just warn people that there MAY be spoilers in my post or something? I’ll try not to spoil anything major, but for starters, rewatching the OP made me go “OOOH!
