I have been
regretting little by little for registering for Anime Next and after the flood of incoherent teenage brats who flamed my Sakura Matsuri post, the lack of communication from the artist alley, and the fact that the anime next website goes down at least once a day has increased my general downturn on the whole thing. I only registered because someone invited me to help them with a panel on eroge/otome games and at the time I was really excited to help - but now I wish I never agreed to do this. Nothing against the panelists or the panel itself, but frankly I have this disgusted feeling at this whole thing to the point where I don’t want to contribute anything to anyone there. Woooooww
they changed so many things around I have to rant. All the great things about the love of the “robot boyfriend” that were in the manga were basically thrown out in the drama. I mean really what’s the point of calling it “absolute boyfriend” when they coulda just called it “absolute robot lover” or something. He’s not Riko’s boyfriend in her eyes and never was since day one. Even when her “best friend” (which was demoted to “friend” this week) takes him, she goes off flirting with her boss. Wtf

It’s been
a while since I did a real rant & rave post so here I go for old time’s sake. I was just thinking what my fellow comrad does on his blog and flames everyone while shutting comments off so no one can flame him back. While I really don’t care to flame people or bloggers, as most of you know I often flame a poorly animated show that strays from the manga or doesn’t follow it. Similarly, when I do manga reviews I often post scanlations that I do on my own and not ones that I got off some website. Despite all this, you still get idiots who come here (most likely via google) and then comment and attempt to flame me on a post that’s over months old. What do I have to do to get it through their thick skulls that my blog is a) not your PMS rant forum b) not an anime summary database c) is biased towards my opinion. Is it even possible? So while
on the way to NJ today I decide to watch Last Friends, the drama I talked about in my jdrama spring preview. Holy shit is this drama fucked up. Basically take a bunch of fucked up 20 year olds, and put them in a house together and you get Real World Japan. The main heroine is played by the girl who played Rei in Proposal Daisakusen. So seeing her role go from a studios college girl to a poor abused one was really heartbreaking. Continue Reading »

I know
you’ve all been impatiently waiting so here it is. But before I go into it I have to first talk trash about Kinokuniya and Japanese racism since it is relevant to me purchasing this book. As you guys know Shugo Chara has Special Edition volumes that come out along with every normal edition when a Shugo Chara volume is released. Kinokuniya only had 2 volume 6’s sitting out period, neither of which was the SE. I asked a lady working there if she could help me find a Special Edition or open up one of the drawers where they keep extra books. She told me “can you please wait” because she seemed in the middle of something. Ok that’s cool I just hung around looked at random How to Draw Manga books while I waited. I then saw her come back but rather than helping me, her attitude went from “Go away white person” to “Hi I’d love to help you find it” when she decide to help a random Japanese family who had come upstairs during the time I waited…and basically ignoring my existence. That’s great Kinokuniya. You market your sorry asses towards weeaboos, but when we come to spend money, you ignore us. Yea well you just lost about $6 extra from one of us, fags. And now let’s continue on to the manga review.

This
is completely irrelevant to anything other than the fact that after Anime Boston more and more events are popping up that seem to be some sort of twisted hints that are telling me “Stop going to anime conventions.” I honestly think the only thing that continuously kept me coming back to cons is because I like to make Doujinshi, and cons are a good place to sell them (although it seems online sales are just as good if not better
) Continue Reading »

I’m
calling this day 0 because technically the con begins Friday and this is the pre-con Thursday.
So here is my convention report. I warn you it’s long, very personal, and very insulting to the likes of the people attending. I’m sorry but I just gotta be honest at this point. I think the things that I never noticed before due to “excitement of cons” suddenly appear very visible when my goal is to sell my art rather than enjoy the convention. Anyway read at your own risk, don’ t say I didn’t warn you. Continue Reading »
