Tower of Druaga - So despite Aroduc’s summary (which I made a good decision in the end not to base my opinion of this show on) I decided to watch this show after seeing the number of parodies mentioned by Kurogane. I was pretty amused that in the OP it looks like they’re showing normal people who play MMORPGs. Being a long time RO player I feel like I have to watch this show because a lot of the jokes are pretty amusing. But MMO jokes aside, how about the NicoNico video joke? Or that Evangelion joke when Jil’s wings like turn into the Eva 01’s from the Eva op. xD Once Jil’s dream kinda ended it wasn’t as funny. I really hope the rest of the show will be like this episode was…and doesn’t get all serious business on me. JP tells me it was directed by the guy who directed Full Metal Panic and Gatekeepers, both of which I liked. I’ll have to check out episode 2 before I decide whether I will be picking this up. Also I watched it in horrible quality on Crunchyroll because it had subtitles and someone watching it with me is Japanese is impaired

Itazura na Kiss - is just too awesome. I expected to enjoy this show but what makes it more awesome is it reminds me of those 90s shoujo animes that I miss oh so dearly. Anyway this is a definite pick up for Friday as I had originally planned but I wanted to check it out just to be sure. I don’t really know what she sees in that guy, and aside the fact that he’s voiced by the guy who did our favorite Nice Boat captain, I wanna kick him square in the nuts just for being a jackass. So naturally I really hope by the end of this show he’s on his knees begging for sex0ring from the girl because he wants her that badly. Also the fat girl randomly amuses me because I almost never see fat anime characters (except for Chouji in Naruto ) If you like Moe things, steer clear, if you like good old fashioned shoujo, come along for the ride. Also the ending song was really catchy.

Ok last post for tonight then I gotta pack for Anime Boston. XD Anyway, I meant to post this a while ago but never got around to it. Anyway you guys remember that Shippuuden ending of Naruto where they showed the Naruto cast in a manga style school life kinda situation? Well they actually made a spin off special from that which sorta explains how everything happens. Basically the reason that Naruto got beatup by those yakuzas and stuff is because they attacked Ino Sakura & Hinata. That was fairly easy wasn’t it! Actually the episode was basically about them going to the Hanami and that untrap butler having a crush on Benice. I know there were probably more parodies (I think one of them looked like Flame of Recca or Street Fighter) but I couldn’t pinpoint myself to what they were from. Ah this is the kind of kimiaru that I like, not all the serious business crap. Also there was a gaijin joke made and I didn’t really understand it, aside from not really understanding what the hell Natose was even babbling about.

Upcoming Attractions: Well since the show is coming to an end, they have to have some plot in regards to Ren’s dad.

The Hatsune Miku references never end. Sorry guys, crappy day today, not in the mood to blog anything else. Kimikiss was bleh and Persona was cute but didn’t wanna regurgitate a post about either of them. I feel bad for Yume though, her being ignored was funny at first but now it’s just down right cruel.

When I think of Ronald McDonald what comes to mind are all those McDonalds Happy Meal commercials with Ronald and his big furry suit friends and a bunch of lolis and shotas begging him for toys and fries. In Japan, the McDonalds commercials refer to Happy Meals as “Happy Sets” and Ronald is referred to as “Donald”. (I guess it would be a pain for them to say ロナルド-ミクドナルド.) For some reason though, the Japanese Ronald says “RAN RAN RUUU” a lot and because of this it has turned into a meme on niconico.

Recently NicoNico’s been going through the Caramell Dansen phase and needless to say Ronald (or should I say Donald?) was included in the insanity. The result produced an incredibly addictive song that can be used as a good exercise video, or in my case I really want it to be my cell phone ring tone. Continue Reading »

Wow.. that was quite chaotic. It looks like this week was almost some sort of a filler episode about Otohanata (Otoha + Hinata) creating some weird world where she was Hirose’s “fiance” and Hayami and Hotaru were his sisters x_x; They even have magical girl otoha transformations, some kind of fake parody opening theme but in the end they tried to make it all serious by showing Otoha kissing Hirose and then disappearing. I kept thinking “ok since she’s gone now does this mean he’s going blind again?” I mean really what’s the deal with his blindness? It was there for like less than 1 episode and since Otoha is gone, is he permanently able to see? Talk about loose ends.
