I’m back from Ghetto Splash (which HAS to be run by the same people who made this disaster because their new site looks identical) so my head is a bit fried. I did manage to watch this episode on the train ride there though (which helped kill time.) It was an interesting episode, but I thought in the preview last week they were gonna have that kid confess to Youko but that…never happened. The Makiko’s Wrestling Hobbies part was kinda boring but it was funny at the end when she told the wrestler to go dance Para Para…and he did Also we found out the story of how Youko’s dad married her mom - and apparently she was this rich miss popular so that’s why I guess she bosses him around now. You can tell which daughter went after who.

SO before the episode even started there were all sorts of earthquake warnings which I read on Yahoo news a little before I left work today. They even mentioned some 70 year old lady was taken to a hospital. I dunno I love slayers and all but Black Starmon is the epitome of annoying. It’s enough that I have to hear that voice on Mondays but now I get a play back on Wednesdays too. The episode was kinda retarded because it was Lina like seriously attacking Amelia and that was a bit…I mean I know she had to defend herself but instead of coming out of that stupid contraption she just shot a huge fireball that woulda killed Amelia had Blackstarmon not pulled out his replica sword of light. Meh well hopefully more interesting stuff next week.

I bet that doesn’t sound as weird when you say “Nakishoujo no tame Pavannu” Anyway apparently it’s Koge Donbo’s new work. I saw it on her blog entry this afternoon. I’ve yet to obtain the last volume of Kamichama Karin but I have to admit something sad: I’m just not looking forward to this work. First of all she mentions that there are 12 girls (and 1 main character. It’s like a harem setting already and those never work out too well. The other problem I’m having is the characters pictured here look like Karin & Kazune clones. I mean I realize it’s the same artist, but why create 13 characters that are just rehashes of your previous works? (Geez Misaki - with the bunny hairbands is a freaking Misha clone =_=)

It reminds me of my general disappointment with Tanemura Arina as well. I know she has some 3 chapter thing out but that’s just the last drop before she’s taking a long overdue break. I used to blindly buy manga because I liked the artwork but then the story ended up sucking ass. So anyone out there have their interest piqued by this? I think I’m going to have to pass. I’m selling more manga to BookOff than I’m buying these days anyway.

Breaking news: Because I was sick and tired of this con I decided to ditch the eroge panel. I also couldn’t even get in touch with my co-panelists because one of them doesn’t have a cell phone and I didn’t have the phone # of the other one. In addition, the idiotic subway system decided this was a great weekend to do subway maintenance on the one line that goes from my apartment to Manhattan causing subway platforms to fill up all the way and the fact that I’d have to wait for a shuttle at midnight in the ghetto. I’m solely swearing that this is my last anime next ever and if I dare to come here again, it better be because the entire cast of Soul Eater seiyuus is present or something - otherwise you’re free to throw tomatoes at my head. You know what’s annoying about Hikari’s stupid speech about Special A? She says “We’re NOT Special.” Woman, did you forget your English? TOKUBETSU = SPECIAL. So in general the entire story of this episode was retarded and really it was just to make Ryu look extra awesome. Well at least the Ryu looking extra awesome worked well. Also while we’re getting closer to Hikari and Kei’s “relationship”, I’m still having trouble adjusting myself to Kei and his tone of voice in general. I know that Fukuyama Jun can do a cuter voice (like Keita from Inukami) and at this point he just sounds like an obnoxious faggot. Like geez dude, pull that pole outta your butt when you speak. Also, I don’t remember this in the manga, but was Yahiro responsible for the crap in this episode? If not, I’m really annoyed with the anime making him the huge bad guy of the series when he’s not.
