Manga Review: Modotte! Mamotte! Lollipop Vol. 6 (Finale)

Published by Hinano under Mamotte! Lollipop, Manga

Well the Mamotte Lollipop sequel manga has now officially ended and been released in tankoubon form. Before I go any further let me remind you all that I purchased this at Kinokuniya and all scans are done by me. If you further insist on asking me where to download “these scans” a giant pedobear will crawl through your window at night and haunt you for the rest of your life. Now that my disclaimer is out of the way (which is needed for these posts because these are the only posts guilty of attracting beggars like the 41st Street Jack’s 99 cent store) let’s move on. We left off with Nina being forced to marry Al and Zero & the gang trying to stop the wedding. Continue Reading »

Animedia June 2008

You know I never thought about this but is Animedia an anime magazine targetted towards the female otaku/fujoshi market? I mean their big feature is “doki doki school life” and they show all sorts of animu pairings (including Code Geass, Macross and Soul Eater - Maka x Soul being the no. 1  ) Also, I am now up to 2 Code Geass folders. Why can’t they be Soul Eater ones! Also there’s a “June Bride” theme going on this issue. I feel it is relevant to my interests. Continue Reading »

Persona -Trinity Soul- 20

Published by Hinano under Persona

As usual Persona does not disappoint with it’s “shat hitting the fan” weekly dosage. At the beginning it shows Jun walking around and coming back to his house…where he finds Ryo sleeping on the couch. As he touches his head, he sees a flashback of what happened to him in the past. After the credits everyone goes to talk to Akihiko who explains that Ayane was the experimental subject of her father - also known as that erojiji who killed Ryo. The group is pretty shocked that he did experiments on his own child (who wouldn’t be?) and they also make note of all the “whale feathers” that are left after all the bizarro events happening lately. Proposal Daisakusen Special (aka Grand Finale!)

Published by Hinano under Proposal Daisakusen

Hey guys wordpress 2.5 is out! That will be updated tomorrow but more importantly, better late than never here is my Proposal Daisakusen special post. As we all had hoped, basically the special literally jumps right into where the last episode of the drama left off. The beginning of the special gives us flashbacks of what happened in case you missed it, but in case you did, you can always go back and read my posts :P Anyway the beginning is kinda silly because they waste time showing Rei and Ken on the beach as usual arguing with each other (about the fact that if Ken found her shoe that was lost in the ocean she’d marry him right then and there) but concluding their argument with a hug. Manga Review: Modotte! Mamotte! Lollipop Vol. 5

Published by Hinano under Mamotte! Lollipop, Manga

So it turns out that this manga will be 6 volumes - with the final volume being released on April 28th. The volume started out a bit cheesy but it was still pretty good. They went to the magic world to meet Zero’s family and his grandma who wanted him to get married and take over the house. Nina was all for it of course but Zero didn’t exactly want to hear the bells just yet. Nina also attempted to learn how to use magic but failed miserably. Also ever since THAT incident, I’m starting to see Ichi as a 3rd wheel. How sad.

Most of the manga was pretty blah to me, at some points I had no idea what was going on and why they were doing it. It felt like another “page filler” in order to progress with the main purpose of this volume…which I have yet to figure out anyway. Oh well on to the scans.

Fujoshi Deka - 05 (Finale?)

Published by Hinano under Fujoshi Deka

I’m really confused but I think this was supposed to be the last episode? :???: Their official blog has “Saishuukai” all over it and there was no next week preview at the end so perhaps it really is. That’s a shame because I was hoping they’d make it at least 10 or 11 episodes. :/ This week it looked as if she had confessed to her boyfriend that she’s a fujoshi, but when she did, apparently he passed out and missed everything. Also at the beginning the wedding she saw was actually one of his 4 twin brothers. Figures they’d end it openly like that. :/ Well it was fun while it lasted.

Marriage ~Kekkon~ OAV

Published by Hinano under Unsorted

Uh so I saw this on Tokyo Toshokan and thought that it was relevant to my interests  so I decided to check it out. I was greeted with an explosion of later 80s early 90s style animation. Particularly the huge sparkly eyes and the double lined noses. While I’ve never heard of this before, the oav sports a pretty famous cast. (Think of Akio and Sunohara from Clannad  ) It basically shows 2 stories (since it’s only 2 episodes) about women workers finding their “that true someone” from their work place. They even have chibi scenes which show that it’s the place where majority have found their spouse (although I have no idea if that’s based on any accurate Japanese poll.) Continue Reading »
