Since the Haruhi doujinshi I drew was sold out this morning, I put up a poll recently in regards to me selling my “sold out” doujinshi on DLSite like I had originally intended to. While I was about to sign up this evening, I started to read their terms of service and I came across an interesting paragraph:

While the creation of Parody works are active among Japanese creators, We are still investigating the legal status on Parody works created within outside of Japan. Therefore, at this point, we can not accept any product that features existing licensed characters from Anime, Games or other mediums.

So basically, unless I wanna make original character doujins (which no one on there will care to buy) and post it there, DLSite will not accept my work. I don’t know when they plan to change this rule, or if they plan to change it, but all I know is, my great strive for online doujin sales is pretty much over at this point. I’m sure you guys are gonna say “just do it anyway, no one will care” but it’s less of a load on my back to deal with honestly. Last thing I need is Kyoto Animation sending me threatening emails or something

Ah well for those who didn’t get a copy all I can tell you is better luck next time

This is completely irrelevant to anything other than the fact that after Anime Boston more and more events are popping up that seem to be some sort of twisted hints that are telling me “Stop going to anime conventions.” I honestly think the only thing that continuously kept me coming back to cons is because I like to make Doujinshi, and cons are a good place to sell them (although it seems online sales are just as good if not better ) Continue Reading »

Ok last post for tonight then I gotta pack for Anime Boston. XD Anyway, I meant to post this a while ago but never got around to it. Anyway you guys remember that Shippuuden ending of Naruto where they showed the Naruto cast in a manga style school life kinda situation? Well they actually made a spin off special from that which sorta explains how everything happens. Basically the reason that Naruto got beatup by those yakuzas and stuff is because they attacked Ino Sakura & Hinata. So in light of gia’s post on mixi, she recommended a site where users can type entries in the language they’re studying and those whose native language this is, can correct the user. The site is called Lang-8. This is actually a really great feature, almost like open source, where everyone helps everyone else. This is also the best way to practice, instead of sitting in class and zoning out while your teacher tells you how to say “I want 3 pencils” 20 times. I really want to start using it and I hope someone will come around and correct me because I haven’t really done any “studying progress” for a while (and watching anime/drama doesn’t count )
