Many people who keep up with the Vocaloid trend most likely already heard of him. However those who only know Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin/Len and nothing else - may not have heard of a popular male voiced vocaloid named Kaito. PiaPro and NicoNico users together have given him the personality of having some ice cream fetish and he is often found paired up with either Meiko or (more commonly) Miku. He’s also referred to as “nii-san” because him and Meiko came out before Miku, Rin or Len so he is like the “older brother” figure. Some choose to argue that pairing him up with Miku is “siscon” but others (like me) don’t think of any of the vocaloids as “blood related incest siblings” anyway. So the latest craze that seems to hit the anime fanart world is Tegaki. It’s been popular in Japan before but recently someone had opened up an English version for English speakers to post their doodles. Tegaki is basically a Java/Flash version of MS Paint. Your tools are just pencils and colors. The rest is up to you. This makes it interesting to see who will post random doodles and who spends countless of hours making their art looks just as good as someone in an art program.

I decided to jump on the bandwagon because this is a good chance for me to practice my drawing since I got the coloring thing down but my proportions look like crap as always.

It’s also a good way to get yourself to practice the basics, because in a tegaki, if you don’t have that down, the rest looks like crap and won’t make your picture look any better. Give it a shot if you want to improve your drawing or at least give yourself an excuse to draw more often.

The Hatsune Miku references never end. Sorry guys, crappy day today, not in the mood to blog anything else. Kimikiss was bleh and Persona was cute but didn’t wanna regurgitate a post about either of them. I feel bad for Yume though, her being ignored was funny at first but now it’s just down right cruel.

For those unfamiliar with DLSite it’s basically a site which allows artists,creators etc to sell their games, doujinshi, illustration collections online. Unfortunately most of it is pr0n but there’s a section for women that has some yaoi and non porno stuff. The English section I believe is anything and everything.

When I think of Ronald McDonald what comes to mind are all those McDonalds Happy Meal commercials with Ronald and his big furry suit friends and a bunch of lolis and shotas begging him for toys and fries. In Japan, the McDonalds commercials refer to Happy Meals as “Happy Sets” and Ronald is referred to as “Donald”. (I guess it would be a pain for them to say ロナルド-ミクドナルド.) For some reason though, the Japanese Ronald says “RAN RAN RUUU” a lot and because of this it has turned into a meme on niconico.

Recently NicoNico’s been going through the Caramell Dansen phase and needless to say Ronald (or should I say Donald?) was included in the insanity. The result produced an incredibly addictive song that can be used as a good exercise video, or in my case I really want it to be my cell phone ring tone. Continue Reading »

Wow.. that was quite chaotic. It looks like this week was almost some sort of a filler episode about Otohanata (Otoha + Hinata) creating some weird world where she was Hirose’s “fiance” and Hayami and Hotaru were his sisters x_x; They even have magical girl otoha transformations, some kind of fake parody opening theme but in the end they tried to make it all serious by showing Otoha kissing Hirose and then disappearing. I kept thinking “ok since she’s gone now does this mean he’s going blind again?” I mean really what’s the deal with his blindness? It was there for like less than 1 episode and since Otoha is gone, is he permanently able to see? Talk about loose ends.
