I’m sure by now everyone’s sick of the Eva movie posts but now that the DVD is finally out (no I didn’t bother watching the cam rip lol) I decided to do a comparison to the retro Eva DVDs that JP had. (I never had Eva DVDs because my Eva episodes were in VivTV and MPEG 10 points if you know what VivTV is. ) I had no idea what this movie consisted of but it’s literally Evangelion episodes 1-6 smushed into 1 hour and 37 minutes that have been completely reanimated with super CG angels! Since just rewatching them in movie form would be boring I figured the most fun thing to do is compare! And boy did the retro waves of 90s animation hit me hard. Massive image flood after the jump! WTFFFFFF!!! Before I go into this week’s madness, there’s a new OP and ED this episode. Unfortunately I’m not hot for either of them. I personally got really addicted to the old OP and now they gotta pull out the new one. It sounds like some emo American song by Linkin Park or whatever other band that sounds the same these days. The animation for the OP is kinda cool though, but I don’t know if I’m down with a giant cactus in the ending. I personally preferred school kids with random animal heads. Continue Reading »

Wow I feel like I haven’t blogged anything in ages (even though it’s only been like 2 days.) Anyway speaking of shockers this week’s episode definitely blew me into a WTF mode. I’m glad the story got back on track with the total random violence and emoness because it was definitely lacking that the last few episodes. But you know how you can tell when the emoness is back? The horrible animation returns with it. Because god forbid they show the actual story related parts with GOOD animation, rather than like filler parts and anything that involves boobs. In an ongoing attempt to clear our my backlog of all sorts of dating sim games dating back to like 4 months ago, I decided to start by playing Asuka’s route in the GOS game. There’s Rei and Kaworu (for all the yaoi fangirls) too but well I hate Rei, and I’m not into gay, and I frankly would rather see Kaworu and Rei get it on with themselves than with Shinji. Anyhoo the biggest surprise to me was uh…where is Mana? Wasn’t the whole Steel Girlfriend thing supposed to revolve around her? I’m not really sure how this time around the game relates to her in any way. (Or maybe it’s not supposed to, someone enlighten me.)

Let me start out by saying this is the worst dating sim type game I’ve ever played. Not because of the art, not because of the (lack there of) story (or pr0n) but the actual game play itself. I followed this guide, and thank god the person told me where to click because trying to figure out the kanji/locations for all the districts and the geofront rooms maps made my head spin.
