Many people who keep up with the Vocaloid trend most likely already heard of him. However those who only know Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin/Len and nothing else - may not have heard of a popular male voiced vocaloid named Kaito. PiaPro and NicoNico users together have given him the personality of having some ice cream fetish and he is often found paired up with either Meiko or (more commonly) Miku. He’s also referred to as “nii-san” because him and Meiko came out before Miku, Rin or Len so he is like the “older brother” figure. Some choose to argue that pairing him up with Miku is “siscon” but others (like me) don’t think of any of the vocaloids as “blood related incest siblings” anyway. After seeing Seth’s post on the Mario version of Kumikyo I searched it on NicoNico. I found the original (which I earlier saw the single sung versions by fans of). You definitely think of yourself as some kind of niconico veteran if you can name at least 6 of the songs in this medley.

Anyway a bunch of people who sound like the cast of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu got together and sung their own version of the song. They also changed the lyrics which are pretty funny (especially Kyon’s “Why must I get killed!!?” xD)

I knew I made a mistake when there was Code Gayass on the cover but I saw “Soul Eater” in the fine print and a “BONES 10th Anniversary Special” so I couldn’t help myself… Continue Reading »

I got an email from Sasa-tan a few days ago about a movement against the ABC to promote collaborative work between female bloggers. At first I was like “lawl poor Owen” but when I read some of their topic suggestions I was like “you know this could be a pretty awesome idea.” It would also help bring out female bloggers from the woodwork as I know they’re around but some of them should really post more often So yea I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I don’t know if I’ll have any wild ideas to contribute because I feel like I’ve ranted about most things I could rant about but I’m definitely open to topic discussions if I have something to say - which is how it should be anyway. The topics seem like something that’s better discussed by a female blogger rather than a man trying to hide is wiener. So DS brought up this idea: Let’s run an anime blogger panel at new york anime festival! I thought “eh why, it would be all boring like that ANN panel last year” but then I thought from another point of view… It can be BETTER than the ANN panel cause we don’t need to talk about main stream licensed shit. So like I said, I did go to Mitsuwa and while we picked up our regular groceries too you couldn’t help but notice the giant Pocky booth right at the entrance to the supermarket.
