It’s been a while since I did a real rant & rave post so here I go for old time’s sake. I was just thinking what my fellow comrad does on his blog and flames everyone while shutting comments off so no one can flame him back. While I really don’t care to flame people or bloggers, as most of you know I often flame a poorly animated show that strays from the manga or doesn’t follow it. Similarly, when I do manga reviews I often post scanlations that I do on my own and not ones that I got off some website. Despite all this, you still get idiots who come here (most likely via google) and then comment and attempt to flame me on a post that’s over months old. What do I have to do to get it through their thick skulls that my blog is a) not your PMS rant forum b) not an anime summary database c) is biased towards my opinion. Is it even possible? Pardon me for this post, I’m trying to make it relevant but it seems my blog is slowly turning into my encounters with all things Japan rather than an anime blog these days due to lack of any good anime to write about. Anyway, when I began watching anime just as all anime fans, the first thing we think of is “I want to purchase merchandise from THIS show!” Needless to say I spent some share of my otaku money on sailormoon chibi figures, shirts, keychains and whatever other nonsense was available from DiC at the time. I have no idea who this is but I think this conveys the message.

Ok as most of you know I DO blog Naruto, but I’m at a point of “well I came this far, too late to turn back now” rather than “I FUCKING LOVE NARUTO!1111!” Now that I got that disclaimer out of the way….let me begin by saying I’m fucking sick of Kinokuniya lol. Ok at first I was really happy that like they moved close to where I work and I could buy manga by the hoarde. But as the months went by, their selection of manga or even merchandise became more and more geared towards the idiots I described at Anime Boston. So today I go in to pick up Shugo Chara Volume 6 which in Japan was released last Wednesday. Typically Kinokuniya stays on top of things and has manga releases air mailed to them. But when I saw that it wasn’t there and inquired at the cash register…the guy tells me “Unless its a popular manga like Naruto, we don’t ship it airmail.” Continue Reading »

Koyasu is probably what keeps me watching this show.

Just for the record, yes I am still watching Rosario to Pantsu. Mostly because it’s fun to make fun of it in NicoNico comments. But you know, I said it before and I’ll say it again, now that I’m actually caught up in the manga as far as where the anime is, I’m sitting there going “what the fuck just happened to the story?” The story of the Newspaper Club going and taking notes on the human world, turned into a giant melon fest, destroyed any purpose of any remains of this story but they still attempted to make something of it in the end. It’s like how do you put together a Thanksgiving Turkey with chunks of pig fat? I dunno but GONZO is trying damn hard. I mean if they’re gonna stick it to being a melon and panty fest, why actually TRY to follow the story? Why not just make up some more filler monsters like that one episode and just have Moka kick her way through the rest of the series.

This really is turning out to be Gonzo’s most epic failure.

Not that I’ve been keeping up with SaiGar (which has turned into SaiAnimeCharacterILike) but since today is Super Tuesday and I’m in one of the Super States, it really got me thinking. Why the hell can’t voting systems be as good as that? Everyone gets a code tied to their name/SSN and using that code they vote online for their candidate in less than 2 minutes.

I sure as hell wouldn’t be able to tell the difference!

Anyone who reads the weekly shounen jump scans/books whatever, will have read this week’s chapter and concluded that the entire god damn story revolves around the freaking Uchihas. Why even bother calling it Naruto? At this rate he seems like some background character, and the fact that in part 1 it was so focused on him as the main characte (as it should be since the manga is named after him) makes it all seem stupid and insignificant.
