Proposal Daisakusen Special (aka Grand Finale!)

guys wordpress 2.5 is out! That will be updated tomorrow but more importantly, better late than never here is my Proposal Daisakusen special post. As we all had hoped, basically the special literally jumps right into where the last episode of the drama left off. The beginning of the special gives us flashbacks of what happened in case you missed it, but in case you did, you can always go back and read my posts 
Anyway the beginning is kinda silly because they waste time showing Rei and Ken on the beach as usual arguing with each other (about the fact that if Ken found her shoe that was lost in the ocean she’d marry him right then and there) but concluding their argument with a hug. Continue Reading »
really liked the drama ending! XD Ok so it wasn’t a hug and kiss kinda end but it still was somewhat satisfying. I actually though thought that the fairy man was actually a “future” persona of Ken but I guess he really was just…a fairy. Or was he? o.O So in case you missed last week, Ken basically grabbed Rei’s hand and took off with her from the ceremony. They ran all the way to their old elementary school and then went into their former classroom where they first met. They had a little trip through memory lane and how if Rei had not sat next to Ken, they may not have become friends like they are now. 
you thought it was the last photo and Ken was gonna make all the difference in the world…the drama comes back to slap you with more surprises. So this week is the “last” photo and Ken is determined to change its outcome. He comes back to find himself at a sales meeting because he’s been going around trying to sell white dry eraser boards to companies. He tries to get away but his sales partner makes up some cheesy story about how his kids will die of starvation because he can’t make money and so convinces Ken to waste time and miss one of his opportunities to intercept the proposal. 
Another great episode this week. I almost thought it was gonna go the bad way but it did a 180 and next week looks really promising. So now that Mikio knows that Ken is from the future, (after much convincing) Mikio says he will help Ken out. He tells him that it’s obvious that Rei likes him and is shocked to hear that in the future she and Tada-sensei get married. While everyone is at that restaurant hangout place they ask Ken if he knows what DKNY brand is and he says “Don’t Knock New York” to which everyone laughs at making him look like an idiot for not knowing it’s Donna Karen. 
So I was pretty much yelling “NOOO! RUN KEN RUN!” in this episode too but it ended up being another hair ripping let down. Now I feel awful for both Ken AND Tada sensei. I like them both! It makes me so sad to see Tada sensei look all sad when stuff between him & Rei doesn’t work out but on the other hand our hero is Ken so he should get the girl. Arrgh! LOL well at least I might be happy with whatever ending that they choose. Also at the beginning of the episode they tell us that this was during the Winter Sonata boom so this tells me the episode took place in “2004″. They even had a Yon-sama parody XD. 
and as a bonus, it’s at a Japanese company. Due to this (and since I’m living with JP - those who voted other phail XD) it takes me a while to get to and from work, which basically drastically cuts my anime/blogging time to about 2 hours per day. With this in mind, I will either be posting shows a few days late, or if it was nothing special I’ll either do a short commentary or simply skip the episode. Friday/Saturday/Sunday shows will be okay though - so Hayate, Karin and Rabucon should not be in the above list. This is only for shows Mon-Thursday. Anyway this week Ken doesn’t really fix anything but it was an episode that made me go “NOOOO” many times. 
nostalgia because it took place last summer when everyone was booming over the world cup (including my WC crazed boyfriend. Hehe.) Or maybe it took place during 2002 world cup?? I dunno. Anyway Ken goes back into the past this time to the college years. It’s his first year at college and the time is during the world cup. He wakes up kissing that short friend of his and then also realizes that Rei’s grandpa has been staying at their dorm apartment. He’s a very spunky old gramps and he sneaks into their college to hit on young female college students. In the photo he goes back to, they were discussing first kisses and Ken jokingly said “if you don’t have one I’ll give it to you right now!” in front of everyone, earning a slap from Rei. Eri in the meantime has met yet another “man of her dreams” who has the same keychain as her.
