And so Riko’s life continues with Night. He begins her days by asking for a wakeup kiss and immediately getting a “NO” from her. I mean I know he’s a robot man, but he’s so freaking hot, why is she resisting! He also flexes and exercises in front of her since her ideal man was to be somewhat physically fit. Also known as Tsundere na Kanojo in my mind. Anyway this is the Japanese drama version of the Korean movie/drama “My Sassy Girl”. It features Kusanagi Tsuyoshi from SMAP (who I think is fugly) but I suppose that works for the lead male anyway as he wasn’t a cassanova in the Korean movie either. I haven’t actually watched the Korean drama to compare so all I can compare it to is the movie. I guess basically if you take the movie and then add some filler scenes in you will get this drama. I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this but it almost appears to be like a cookie cutter setup for this drama in a similar way that it was setup for Yukan Club. A mystery happens, the heroes solve it, they good off in the process, end of episode. It’s become quiet apparent that the first woman that Udagawa falls in love with is obviously the criminal. I guessed it right from the start and I was right. The difference was that in this episode her “murder” was justified because she did it because the guy she killed wanted to sell her father’s business…and everyone is okay with this. If this was America she’d still be sent to jail, whether or not her crime was justified. I mean what are they gonna do, blame the dead guy? Anyway I hope the show moves in to focus on Sakura and Udagawa (or both? ) because I don’t know if I wanna sit through another 11-12 episodes of “you’re not the criminal are you? oh wait yes you are”.

Woohoo it’s finally here! So I was really excited for the manga to finally be turned into a jdrama, however there is a mass amount of changes that have been made. Do I care? Well not really. Actually I’m kind of enjoying it despite all this. Some changes are good some are bad but overall the “skeleton” of the plot has remained the same. Actually come to think of it this is basically the girl version of Weird Science and it takes place in Japan instead of America. Alright so let’s begin with the cast. Our heroine Riko is played by Aibu Saki, Night is played by Hayami Mokomichi and Soshi by Mizushima Hiro (who looks like MatsuJun without the moles.) Continue Reading »

As mentioned in my spring preview I wanted to check out this show because the premise seemed highly amusing. I kept thinking she was the one who played Tsukushi from Hana Yori Dango but turns out I was wrong…she was someone else in HYD2…but who she was is giving me a brain fart. Anyway our heroine, Morita Sakura has a talent (like in every anime this season) of seeing something once and remembering it. Due to this she never has to study, however her one interest is to be a mystery novel writer…but she has no writing talent what so ever and her manuscripts always get rejected. Continue Reading »

So while on the way to NJ today I decide to watch Last Friends, the drama I talked about in my jdrama spring preview. Holy shit is this drama fucked up. Basically take a bunch of fucked up 20 year olds, and put them in a house together and you get Real World Japan. The main heroine is played by the girl who played Rei in Proposal Daisakusen. So seeing her role go from a studios college girl to a poor abused one was really heartbreaking. Continue Reading »

Hey guys wordpress 2.5 is out! That will be updated tomorrow but more importantly, better late than never here is my Proposal Daisakusen special post. As we all had hoped, basically the special literally jumps right into where the last episode of the drama left off. The beginning of the special gives us flashbacks of what happened in case you missed it, but in case you did, you can always go back and read my posts Anyway the beginning is kinda silly because they waste time showing Rei and Ken on the beach as usual arguing with each other (about the fact that if Ken found her shoe that was lost in the ocean she’d marry him right then and there) but concluding their argument with a hug.
