My Boss, My Hero - 10 (Finale)

Another one bites the dust. I’m sorry to say I didn’t like the ending of this either. The stuff I wanted resolved….wasn’t resolved and the way he “graduated” made no freaking sense. So anyway that gang comes to the school and even after Makio begs them to leave, they attack the teachers and Makio’s classmates. Makio can’t take it anymore, and suddenly his anger evokes an actual rainstorm, and he beats the crap outta all the gang members. This gets him thrown in jail, expelled from school and the inability to graduate. Continue Reading »

My Boss, My Hero - 09

I think next week is the last episode maybe? That or 11 is the last one I can’t recall. Makio’s father gets shot in the hand and it causes Makio and Mikio to fight over who will be the next boss. The father stops their bickering and tells them that they have until February 14th (Valentine’s Day how ironic :P) to appeal to other members so that they will then vote and pick who the boss will be. They decide to create “appeal videos”. Mikio’s video is all classy and shows him studying, talking with some white guy, and holding a kitten lol. Makio’s video is just random shots of his high school life and how he threw the pencil on his exam to decide which answer to choose ^^;…needless to say the video poll is in Mikio’s bag. My Boss, My Hero - 08

We’re about to hit the turning point of this drama. Iyan, yakuza kowaii! Sakurakouji comes to Makio’s house. Crap. They set an alarm off and have all the Yakuza hide between lockers, in closets, behind painted walls etc. XD Makio manages to trick Sakurakouji but the guy’s still a bit suspicious after Makio basically “dumps” Hikari. Sakurakouji tells Hikari that Makki still likes her, but he has a secret and that’s probably why he broke up with her. Hikari also volunteered to help Makki with the school festival because she got accepted into the university she tested for. Continue Reading »

My Boss, My Hero - 07

Lolicon dorama action? This reminds me of something I saw in about 30 anime series Makio is determined to get Hikari’s heart. He even beats his teacher in Karate (or whatever form of martial arts they are doing) in gym class which impresses not only her but the other guys as well. In the meantime, Hikari’s friends are telling her that she should ask Makio to walk home with her because that counts as a “first date”. The guys are helping Makio on his side and telling him to take Agnes Road because apparently all “couples” take that road as it’s a longer walk home and there’s stuff there like jewelry sellers and purikura. My Boss, My Hero - 03

Kimatsu test time! Does it LOOK like I'm okay? Kimatsu tests are important tests for seniors in Japan because if they do not score above a 30, they will not graduate. Upon hearing this Makki freaks out because not graduating means that he will not become the leader! There’s also a little side story with the “bullies” who take his money and pick on him but he vows that after he graduates he’ll beat them to a pulp. Continue Reading »

My Boss, My Hero - 02

Okay so I actually watched episode 1 a week after it aired hence why episode 2 is actually on time. In Japan if you're late to school you have to do a gay dance Makio’s school life continues. Yuuya (damn I still don’t know his name) starts calling him “Makki” which later on the others start catching on. It’s time to pick a class president, and Makio volunteers because he feels like its another opportunity for him to be a “leader”. Unfortunately he doesn’t know the first thing to being the class president, and the ignorant classmates don’t make it any easier for him. Continue Reading »

My Boss, My Hero - 01

Summer drama fest continues! Don't worry I can't write my name in Kanji either The story is pretty simple, pretty overused but despite my dislike for Nagase Tomoya he pulls it off pretty well. This is another drama you can add to your “Summer Johnny’s Dramas” addition list as it contains the lead singer of TOKIO and Tegoshi Yuuya from NEWS. Also features Tanaka Koki from Kat-Tun. The story is about the son of a Yakuza leader who’s about to retire and needs a new person to take over as boss. Tomoya’s character, Makio-kun is in line but he’s an idiot so his father tells him that he can become boss on one condition…if he goes to high school for a year and graduates properly. He agrees eventually, and when he’s almost on the verge of quits, he finds out his really smart brother is almost done with college (even though he’s been real sick) and sees it as a threat to him becoming the boss.
