Alright
so I really enjoyed the ending of this series a lot more than Yukan Club. I guess I’m biased because I work at a Japanese company and I can relate to some of the retarded crap that went on in the show. Also I’m an old fart so any work drama I can relate to I’d probably enjoy. The only thing that I wish they had was some romance between Hiroko and Tanaka, but I guess I’ll take what I can get with the “I like…the you that’s so disorganized and hard working” or whatever he said. Well looks
like this week Hiro finally broke up with Shinji. It went a lot different than I expected. I thought she was gonna get mad at him for spending time with his ho coworker OL-chan’s. Also I want to mention how I think the whole “you must get drunk and make deals at a bar full of hoes to get anywhere in Japan” pisses me off to no end. So due to Shinji not doing well at his work it really brings him down and seeing Hiro doing SO well only makes him even more depressed - especially when she choses work over him, while he sacrifices his job for her. He says they should break up, and then Hiro says “I guess so” but after he walks out the door she realized what just happened and runs after him..unable to catch up. That night she stays up all night redoing her work because her laptop got stolen but has trouble concentrating with all the tears in her eyes. Anyway a really great episode, and in the end she feels better because everyone praises her for a job well done. While I feel bad for her, their relationship was pretty pointless to begin with.
Upcoming Attractions: Hiro copes with her new single life.

Ok so I guess this
week they didn’t break up but it was like a setup for it…looks like it’ll happen next week. This time around Hiroko gets sick and rather than her boyfriend helping her, she’s taken to the hospital by Tanaka. Hiroko took on like 8 projects for JIDAI all while having a cold so naturally she collapsed. In the meantime, Shinji at first seems like his dream came true of building a bridge so I think he quit his current job. However it turns out his bridge job gets taken by other contractors or something which leaves him unemployed. He takes his frustrations out on Hiroko telling her that there’s no reason for her to work this hard and that he hates his current job and he only acts like he likes it. By the end of the episode some folks come by telling him they will be living in the apartment he is building. This makes him happier and gives him a brighter outlook (that is until next week.)
Upcoming Attractions: Hiroko catches Shinji with a bunch of hoes.

This episode
really made me think about the whole paparazzi thing. I mean I know they’re doing their job, but the way the scene was handled reminded me of that Britney Spears incident with yelling, cursing, umbrellas and shaved heads. While this one had yelling and umbrellas it just seemed so WEIRD that everyone kinda stood around and did nothing. Like hey we got the photos of the two of you and now we’re going to ruin your lives, but that’s our job. Ok nice meeting you *bows politely, gives business card* bye now! I mean naturally my first reaction was, why is the guy just standing holding his umbrella, rather than going for the camera? I realize at first it looked like he was gonna put up a fight, but I guess his agent or whoever held him back (rather terribly) and that somehow calmed him down. Um wtf? You’d rather be all polite and Japanese tatemae bullshit when possibly your whole career is at stake?
Yea that was annoying. For once, while they were all celebrating and cheering for getting their “scoop” all I could see in my eyes “you must be proud you fucking sleezy assholes.” Bah.
Also apparently eating Nattou Maki rolls makes you manlier - which is why Hiroko munches on them on a daily basis.
Upcoming Attractions: Well Shinji didn’t get to dump her this week, but maybe the next?

I wonder if
people who see these posts on the anime blog aggregators are still thinking I’m blogging the anime lol.
Well anyway this week focuses on Mayu, a young worker (23) who still has not gained the trust of her bosses. When an assignment comes that involves her favorite romance novel author she wants to be the one to take on the role, but because of her inexperience, this role is given to Hiroko. Mayu is upset and cries after feeling betrayed by her “adored senpai” but eventually thanks to Mayu and the concept of “tokimeki” Hiroko manages to get the author to write a story that will make old men cry a river. This succeeds and even makes Mayu cry and so she accepts Hiroko’s handling of the assignment.
At this point my only thought is - Poor Shinji. I wonder how long till they break up.
Upcoming Attractions: Hiroko’s love life going further down the toilet.

Woman powerrrr yeaaaa!!
I think that’s why I like this drama more than I liked Swan no Baka. It’s like woman power vs. weak man against the rest of the world…unpower or something. So in this episode Hiroko comes to the realization of how hard her boyfriend works and that there’s a reason why she doesn’t often see him (besides her own workaholic habits.) This episode also deals with how one of the writers there is a pretty girl who is getting married and quitting soon. Continue Reading »
