Wow can you believe episode 17 already? 
It feels like yesterday when we were watching Sato play erogames and spy on school girls’ panties. Just as we expected, Sato’s former class president decided to take advantage of him (and his lack of) money. Honestly, the moment she found out he was a hikki, she shoulda given up. You know this episode really made me want to play MMORPG’s less and less. I know it’s like stating the obvious truth about them but ugh did they have to be so blatant about it? Anyway in an attempt to break Sato free from his game, Misaki puts on cat bells, cat ears and attaches a cat tail on to herself. Sato thinks it’s some kind of a sick joke and says that she should go to a cosplay fest if she wants to cosplay. Misaki explains that it’s what the girl in the game he’s playing looks like and he gets angry saying “Don’t ever make fun of Mia!!” 
just reminded me of how addictive Ragnarok Online was. So it turns out, Sato’s dad lost his job or something and so now his mom is like only paying half for his apartment/expenses etc(?) She tells him to go get a job but when he tries he can’t find one that he’d be good at or be able to handle because of his hikkiness. He then remembers the advertisement about the Ultimate Fantasy MMORPG that kid gave him and told him he can gather rare items, and sell them for real money. And so…Sato’s addiction to MMORPGs begins. 
And by that I mean, they get bitched at by their families except for Sato who’s a lonely wolf. The first scene shows Sato sitting on the beach at night looking at the ocean and Misaki comes by. She says she’s glad Sato didn’t die but he gets angry and turns around and raises his fist at her. At this she cringes into a ball and begins crying and shivering. Sato isn’t sure what to make of this reaction and then just walks away from her. 
had me on the edge of my seat. I mean I knew they weren’t gonna die but I didn’t know HOW they would resolve this whole thing. So anyway Misaki, Senpai’s boyfriend and Yamazaki all get into his car and drive down the seaport. There they take a boat to try to reach the Off kai before the evening time. The plan for them to suicide is at night so they try to make it there as fast as possible. On the way Yamazaki questions Misaki and tells her that they know that their apartment is visible from her house. 
I made the mistake of not realizing that they were going to an OFF-kai which is basically a group suicide event. Sato of course has no idea and thought it was a jolly vacation between the two of them. He was pretty surprised to meet the other 3 guys coming along but decided it was no big deal anyway. This was going to be his “revolution” against being a hikkikomori, but the others had something else in mind. 
Yamazaki and Sato are still working on their game. However I guess they completed part of it because they started printing CD covers and burning the incomplete stuff on the CD. Sato kept thinkin about Misaki but not as much as last time, and he kept having a bitch fest with Yamazaki. Eventually they finished up their progress and put all the disks in a box while Sato lay in his room looking at what he has “created”.
