SO I finally figured out the whole plot behind this anime. This is like the insect version of Romeo & Juliet. (I just hope they don’t die at the end.) At school Daisuke can’t stop thinking about Shiika and his project group teases him for it. They get into a discussion on bugs and Lady Bird girl (whatever her real name is) flips out when they say that bugs are disgusting. Later on she tells her team mates that there’s a “firefly” person in the park today and she wants to capture them and make them her ally.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, the “firefly” is Shiika and after their date in the park, she realizes Daisuke is I guess a bug destroyer and she pushes him away then runs off. Daisuke in the meantime gets a call from HIS team mates telling him there’s a few exterminations to be done and that Lady Bird is there as well. Daisuke goes and changes into his battle suit (and somehow his hairstyle changes along with it) and then he runs into a little girl who’s crying for her mom. Turns out the little girl has a bug and when he kills the bug the girl dies, and Lady Bird sees all this from the bushes and screams “NOOO!!”

Hm so yea it looks like bug of the person gets killed/person dies with it. (Where have I seen this plotline before? Jinchuuriki gets extracted, human dies? Hmm…*looks 2 posts below*) Oh well I’m just interested in the Daisuke x Shiika parts. I think bugs are gross and should be smushed and shot at anyway.

So actually I’m really enjoying this show (and I bet everyone reading this blog is like OMG I CANT BELIEVE YOURE BLOGGING THIS HELL FROZE OVER) so I’m gonna blog it to the end of the season. Although it might have to be on Fridays because the raw comes out late so I watch it on the train the next morning. Soo after Daisuke jumps over the incoming train tracks, he grabs the “mystery girl”, whose name is Shiika, by the hand and runs off so that the policeman doesn’t yell at him. Alrighty so while I was totally WTFing at the whole “bug busters” concept my liking to this show was quickly revived the moment we had a school life scene and lots of blushing towards the end. I figured I’d give this one another episode before making a final decision whether I blog it or not, but so far I’m pretty interested. The character designs on the official site are absolutely drool worthy. (I should like use them to rework my art style or something.) I personally don’t get the deal with “dream eating” and “bug users” and I’m totally confused on wtf is going on since there’s not much dialogue (which I guess is great for you raw watchers who don’t understand Japanese). I hear it’ll be a short series so I’ll definitely make my decision about the blogging next week since my Thursdays are only filled with Naruto.
