It sucks that the show is gonna end on a crappy filler ^^;. Next week is the grand finale! I actually did end up watching the episode all the way through because it got interesting the moment Sai showed up and killed all the filler characters. Only thing is like…if you’re gonna follow the Sai kidnaps Yako story…why couldn’t they just do the camping arc? At least it was funny…but no they gotta add in some crap for Yako’s dad. Although I admit the part of Neuro with his kitty muffler made me laugh xD;; The ending was so silly though with Yako screaming like her lost lover’s been stabbed to death. Also it’s hard to believe Neuro would be stupid enough to fall for such a trap…something makes no sense. Oh and also this is about the best manga related scene they’ve had in a long time:

Omg this is the worst filler ever. What annoys me the most is how they’re using manga titles for episode titles, but the manga chapters named “Sai” were related to SAI - not some crazy Egyptian nutcase who’s trying to be a freaking ghostbuster. I really don’t understand you Madhouse. You had SO MUCH MATERIAL to work with - why did you have to add your own fillers? Neuro could have been such an awesome adaptation - as shown by the episodes you actually DID follow the story for. But no, you go pull this shit right at the end of the series. First of all I coulda sworn Godai knew about Akane? Why is it all of a sudden he doesn’t? And now Yako is the witch? Wtf? Also how the hell does Yako’s cell phone work underground in some ancient ruins? Japanese phones don’t work outside Japan typically. Bah, just skip this episode, it was retarded as hell.

What a horrible horrible filler that was. It looks like they’re going to try and merge the Yako’s dad murder thing with Sai, but I don’t know if they will handle the Sai arc the way the manga did. They threw Yako into another country and just when she was about to be shot by 4 guys, Tuxedo Neuro shows up and blasts them off again! (+2 points if you get the anime I am referencing in that sentence.) I really couldn’t watch it the moment I saw Yako’s mom following a bunch of women in prison. My forehead was also having lunch with my desk the moment they said that Yako’s father was involved with this “witch” bullcrap that they’ve inserted into this arc.

Also, while I am a NeuYako fan, Neuro’s randomly inserted kindness to Yako is kinda weird.

Umm what? Can someone remind me if this was an old chapter in the manga? I have a feeling I remember some sort of an arc about someone who kept stealing faces, but I can’t recall if there was a kyuubi. Either way, it must have happened early on before the Denshi Drug HAL incident was resolved so if this really WAS in the manga what the fuck are the writers thinking putting this in AFTERwards? The arc that I thought this was gonna be was with that erojiji and the little girl - because the guy in it sorta looks like the guy in that arc. I guess I was wrong. Also how come Yako’s school uniform is the only pink one while everyone else’s is the manga color?

I think the biggest WTF moment for me was at the end when Sasazuka said that Yako’s “father incident” had some “new light shed on it” and it involved her mother who’s in another country. WTF?!? I’m afraid to even ask where they’re going with this b/s considering Yako’s dad incident got resolved after like the first 4 chapters On a happier note, I’m reading the weekly shounen jump scans (along with Naruto) so even when the anime ends, I’ll keep covering the manga (but not on a weekly basis. Only when something worth mentioning comes up.)

So I am up to chapter 133 of the Neuro manga which means this is the first episode I’ve watched where I’ve read the manga before hand. And let me tell you, what a sinking feeling it is when you know what’s been cut out and the disappointment is probably equivalent to my disappointment with Shugo Chara. They generally followed the story but I guess in order to fit everything in, they had to cut things out. One thing that the Neuro anime does, which the manga often doesn’t, is it pretty much throws characters out. So the Yuka girl, from the arc with Sai fighting Neuro, you haven’t seen her since, same with Aya. In the manga however, Yako often goes to Aya for advice and sometimes to Yuka for help as well. So a couple weeks ago I wrote a post in an LJ community on why people ship Neuro and Yako when all Neuro does is smash her head against walls and ceilings, down her in gas and make her balance a candle on her head and use her as his chair/mop. After reading more of the manga (I’m on volume 12 now) something occured to me: Neuro and Yako are almost like Hamel and Flute from the Violinist of Hameln. You got the hero, who’s a monster (or half monster) who finds a plain old girl and forces her somehow to follow along with what he’s doing. In the meantime he abuses her in a gag kind of manner (Flute Missile anyone?) but near the end it’s because of the girl is the hero able to conquer his final foes.

Needless to say I feel Yako will play an important part to Neuro near the end, similarly to like she did in the HAL arc. But even if NeuYako is my fannon, I’m down with it. The other fanarts I’ve seen are so freaking adorable that it’s enough to convince me to support this pairing.

P.S. The Hameln I’m referring to is the manga, the anime sucks terribly. Good luck trying to find copies of it though - it’s forever out of print.
