Lovely Complex - 24 (Finale)
So in the end,
the final episod I watched with spanish fansubs lol. That’s the one thing I’ll never forget about this show: I’ve watched it with fansubs in like 3 different languages more than I’ve gotten a chance to watch the raws. How sad ^^;. I hope nothing in the fall season ends up like this, it really makes it difficult to get good screencaps. Anyway not the most conclusive ending but I did see the final volume of LoveCom at Kinokuniya today (I think it was 17) so anyone who’s read all of the manga feel free to throw me some insight on what we missed and what the ending was like. Hey apparently next week is the last episode. I guess this feels weird since I’ve read the manga past this point O_O I kinda stopped maybe I should try to pick it up again ^^;. So it looks like a few separate events happen here which I guess is because they’re rushing the manga to fit as much as they can before the show ends. So Ootani does break up with Risa and he says its “folever” (lol) to Nobuko and the others. Risa is upset but cheers him on as he studies and makes him some weird jacket/sweater thing and a headband that says GANBARE OOTANI (i think I didn’t pay attention.) He feels bad and goes to see her at the place she works, but instead runs into the other short kid who he punches in the face lol. The short kid (whose name I forgot) is all like “Yea well now that you’ve broken up I won’t hold back!” 
read the manga probably know there’s a new rival in town for Ootani. I love this show/manga & all, but it starts to bring me back to memories of Marmalade Boy where most of the relationship between the main characters was established, but they then had to go through like 10 love triangle conflicts before the damn thing ended and everyone was paired up. (or in this case completely out of the picture.) Risa has taken a part time job as a waitress near Ootani’s cram school. Unfortunately there’s a part time chef kid there who’s also into Umi Bouzu and totally has the hots for Risa. Even though everything so far has been a misunderstanding, naturally Ootani would be mad that while he’s studying Risa is running off having fun with another guy. The episode ends with him saying that he wants to break up.
Lovely Complex took a huge break since I haven’t been able to get any episodes until now. Anyway since everyone in the group is now a senior, they have all been deciding on which colleges to go to. Everyone…except for Risa. As usual Nobuko yells at her for not knowing what Ootani wants to do for college. Later on she finds out Ootani wants to go to college to become an elementary school teacher because he likes kids/basketball. Risa is laughing to tears at the thought and thinks he’ll fail the exams anyway. 
these episodes. In 19, they went on a date and basically finally established that they are “boyfriend and girlfriend” (to the entire olympic stadium but that’s beside the point.) In episode 20, Mimi shows up, threatens to shorten Risa’s life, but eventually Risa wins because she has the guts to face rejection, while Mimi is just a 12 year old tall loli who can’t face anything. I hate tall loli’s, it’s almost like a trap! Then again, I also hate the 20something lolis, who are actually in their 20s but could look like they’re 12 (coughmoetancough). I never liked Mimi as a character, but I found it sad how she’s voiced by the lady who voiced Miaka in Fushigi Yuugi. Wow, the woman who had a lead role in one of the most popular shoujo animes of the 90s, is brought down to voice a 2 episode character O_O;. Also, for you RisaxOotani fans, you’ll be happy to know they kissed again in episode 20.
Haruka and Seiko plan a party for her but Ootani is so embarrassed about what he said last week that he’s in major denial. He asks her what he wants for her birthday but she says she doesn’t really want anything, but then gets beat up by Nobu after proclaiming that all she wants for her birthday is “Ootani’s love!” When the birthday comes and Ootani doesn’t show up Risa figures it’s okay since everyone else is there, including Maity sensei. However, when they go to the roof to watch fireworks, Risa doesn’t feel any of them are “pretty” because Ootani isn’t there to watch them with her. She gets a msg from him on her cell phone to come behind the roof entrance. There he gives her a present - a rabbit necklace, and then kisses her. She’s really shocked as to what to think, but eventually they kiss again while everyone else watches the fireworks in the background.
So for those of you guys who were complaining about the Ootani line, he said it this week so rest assure! So Risa has disbanded the Maity club and the fangirls are also crying because they found out that he has a fiance. In the manga they actually showed his fiance, I wonder if we’ll even see her in the anime. So anyway Risa and Ootani are back to being the “laughing combo” much to Nobuko’s dismay. A big basketball even it coming up and Risa says she’ll cheer him on.
