So after 2 years I finally completed my Key anime amv. I had the idea pop into my head the moment I found out Kanon was gonna be remade by KyoAni. I decided to wait until Clannad had aired before doing it but 1 or 2 eps wasn’t going to hurt my project anyway….so I went and finished it up.

To be honest…I’m unsatisfied with the ending and I’m gonna give props to TOEI because I felt they wrapped it up better. I think the whole idea of showing Ayu in a coma and then having them take “care” of her was ridiculous. The other lovely plothole is if Mai has these great healing powers, why didn’t she just use them on Ayu? Or did they disappear when the monsters disappeared. Continue Reading »

Well that was…different. When the REAL Sawatari Makoto showed up the first thing I said was “hey it’s like a Makoto look a like with the same seiyuu doing the voice….wait wtf?” I kinda like though the way KyoAni handled the Ayu scene. They actually did a “continuation” and had Yuuichi go “I WONT ACCEPT THAT WISH” while in TOEI she’s like “ok forget me” *sprouts wings and disappears leaving a crapload of feathers behind*. All jokes aside, that was really depressing. I mean I knew it was coming but geez did KyoAni have to animate it SO detailed. Like geez they coulda added blood splattering and that would completed the guro effect. I also notice the theme of “car accidents” or “getting” hit by a car is common in many manga and anime. Is there some truth to this in Japan? Is Japan full of really shitty drivers or is the DMV in Japan so lenient that people drive cars without licenses and if they get caught the penalty is a couple yen?

Anyway I feel awful for Nayuki. If she wasn’t Yuuichi’s cousin, I’d probably pick her over Ayu. The whole incest thing is what makes me gag so that’s why I prefer Ayu. KyoAni’s Nayuki has won me over. I actually found her very annoying in the TOEI version but in this one I just wanna give her a hug. You poor poor gal.

Upcoming Attractions: Nayuki’s arc continues and perhaps the semi-conclusion to Ayu’s.

Yuuichi is a cat abuser! How dare he kick my Piroshki! Anyway someone last week suggested I not bother comparing this to the TOEI version because TOEI completely changed the ending. They may have a point but there were some scenes in TOEI that were similar (such as Ayu disappearing.) Hey TOEI even included the scene of her digging through the snow (except in KyoAni version she had her coat off…where DID her coat go anyway?) Like a few others, I find it a bit strange how our sarcastic Kyonichi all of a sudden is like “OMAE GA SUKI DA.” Like yea I know he was gonna end up with Ayu anyway…but because they had to get Makoto, Mai, and Shiori outta the way first it feels really strange for him to suddenly ignore her feelings up until now. If he had at least warmed up to her previously I think it woulda done for a better transition. I guess this kind of thing is hard to do when you make an eroge adaptation and try to get ALL the girls endings at once. O_O The only mystery that remains is….what’s gonna happen with Nayuki?

Upcoming Attractions: Ayu turns into Harry Houdini by disappearing and reappearing again…er I mean Yuuichi’s slapped in the face with reality.

Ayu-esque episode! It made me feel all warm and squishy inside *_* Especially the last part. Mmm 360 degree views of kissing scenes <3! So I guess because the whole Ayu/Nayu arc was done in about 3 episodes in the TOEI version I expect there to be a whole bunch of stuff in the next 7 episodes. I get the feeling we'll actually see more of Nayuki stuff because it seems like a LOT was covered in this episode about Ayu. On another note, I got "Fuyu no Hanabi" BGM on repeat *_*.
