Alright so I watched Kamichama Karin on Saturday night and I was horrified at how awful the animation was. I haven’t seen animation this crappy since I watched Mamotte Lollipop that show with the moon princess and cabbage. This really angers me because I really like the manga and seeing the animation turn out this shitty is like a slap in the face. The opening animation and episode 1 were so nice, and suddenly it took like a 90 degree leap down into crap. It reminds me of that thread on the Naruto forums where people post badly animated Naruto scenes from the fillers. The amount of shitty animated scenes in this week’s Kamichama Karin can’t even begin to compare to that thread. I only took 1 screenshot but in order for you to get the full feel of how horrible the animation was, I took some more screenshots. Kazune puts Karin into some tough training to be a good goddess. I really wish I didn’t have my manga packed away so I could compare stuff. For some reason it just FEELS different at some points but I don’t wanna say “this didn’t happen” without checking first because I read the manga 2 years ago. Anyway Karin realizes that Kazune and Himeka live in a house with only 1 adult…their butler. She is curious where their parents are but feels that she probably shouldn’t be asking that question. I’m not really sure what happened with the animation this week but Kazune’s eyes changed shape and size 3 times in less than 30 seconds. But other than the crappy animation the episode was pretty good but a few things felt off to me. First of all Shi-chan was supposed to come back from the dead but uh….he’s still dead ?_? What the heck? Anyway so Kirio (the glasses guy) tries to lie to Karin that if she gives him her ring then Shi-chan will be revived. She almost does but Kazune comes back and recovers it in time. He yells at her that if it’s that of an important item to her, she should not be giving it away like that. Continue Reading »

I was pleasantly surprised at how great the anime adaptation is of Koge Donbo’s manga. For those who have not read the manga you’re gonna either like it, hate it, or think it’s a Card Captor Sakura ripoff. Rest assure it is not, and nobody’s collecting any cards (or feathers.) Those who were confused at the beginning, it basically (and this surprised me too) took a bunch of scenes from Kamichama Karin CHU! which is the sequel manga to Kamichama Karin. The boy with the red pants doesn’t appear until the 2nd story and the little thing in a bunny suit is (highlight for spoiler) Karin and Kazune’s son from the future. Continue Reading »
