I totally forgot this week was the kiss episode o.o;. This means we are just about finished with volume 5 of the manga. I’m also grateful to see that the animation has been flowing well these last few weeks. Let’s hope they keep this up for the rest of the series. I’m not sure if this is 24 or 26 eps. Also re-using the scene of Micchi glomping Karin got old after the first 3 times……….. So Micchi ends up living with Kazune, Karin & Himeka. When he told them his story about Professor Kyouju he didn’t mention anything about his eye. Does this come later or did they cut it out all together? Also that other girl (Mia? or whatever her name is) was supposed to pass out near their house during dinner…but in the anime instead they had Micchi pass out from eating too much of Karin’s burnt gratin. Also the anime didn’t show that Kazune got drunk it just showed him getting drunk from…water lol. I’m so confused ^^;

Upcoming Attractions: They mention an “uranaiko” but I wonder if it’s the one that they discreetly cut out of this episode…

Wow so did the animation skyrocket in this episode or what? I don’t think I’ve seen the animation this good since…episode 1!! SO anyway the moment Micchi sees Kazune with the black dyed hair, he glomps him and makes all the yaoi fangirls scream and whip out their camera phones. I guess the professor had black hair so now that Kazune dyed his hair black he looks just like him. Micchi keeps telling himself that “I know it’s not him but it makes me so uneasy!” In the meantime Karin’s avoiding Kazune cause of the spontaneous hug last week. Continue Reading »

Well it’s time for the school festival I guess and Karin’s class is doing a play. Mion submits a crazy manuscript which appears to be a mix of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty along with god knows what. It’s retarded as hell but as usual Kirio things its a work of art so it ends up being the “chosen” play. Micchi suggests Karin & Kazune be the prince & princess but the two of them yell and refuse. Meanwhile, it appears Micchi’s got a fanclub which has a war with Kazune’s fanclub on who should play the prince role. In the end Micchi gets it. Continue Reading »

Good episode this week (probably because it didn’t stray from the storyline.) So Karin takes Kirika and brings her back to their house. When Kirika wakes up she realizes her secret’s out and tells Karin a story of how she decided to live her life as a man. She says when they were younger her brother, Kirio was really ambitious with the whole kamika thing and Kirika didn’t wanna be left behind. She then decided to act like a man, cut her hair and “follow her brother” but now she realizes that maybe it wasn’t a good idea. Karin then says that it’s not true because she “fell in love with the male Kirika-senpai”. Kirika goes on to say how she idolized Karin because she could be a goddess and still be an ambitious “girl”. Continue Reading »

Well despite last week’s stupid episode, there was a lot of progress this week. It almost feels like they jumped over an ant hill last week and this week they jumped over Mount Fuji as far as plot. Some of it seems a bit made up but at least parts are somewhat following the manga. So first Himeka has a dream where she meets the other Himeka and the moment their hands touch, the earth “cracks into pieces” and the next morning both Himekas say they had a weird dream last night. Ok so this week was an obvious filler but just to make sure I checked the manga. It looks like they covered everything in volumes 1-4 and I think some of 5 comes next week. I didn’t really watch this episode the moment I saw Kazune freaking out about every bug around him. I know he hates insects and all, but the anime is over exaggerating it just like they do with Kirio’s brain capacity. (Except in his case, it’s incredibly small.) I have no idea why Karin then Kazune were dressed as a random blond girl but the “almost kiss” is probably the only part of this whole episode that I liked (even if it never happened in the manga.) There’s only like 3 volumes left to cover so hopefully the fillers will be sparse until the show ends.

So this week was a fun episode and I’m glad to see things are progressing between Karin & Kazune. In case you haven’t realized it already in the opening sequence, the burned photo of Karin next to “someone” that person is obviously Kazune ^^;. I’ve completely lost hope in ever seeing animation as good as it was in episode 1. Some scenes look really good while others look like they were drawn with their feet.
