You know I don’t mind TOO much
of Shaft’s creativity as I said before….however I’d like to know why they waste like 14 minutes on random shit, and then try to make it up by adding like 10 minutes of story, in between the shit. It reminds me of these salads I used to buy at the convenience store that had diced olives in them. I hate olives but I liked the salad so I’d be sitting there trying to pick out all the salad and not eat the olives. It was very annoying, just like this anime is starting to become. If I was a first time Negima watcher I think it would be even worse.

Uhm okay orignal arc this week.
No offense to any fans, but I don’t like Nodoka. She’s only cool when she grows a spine and does something heroic but I typically dislike the shy/silent/blue haired girl (Hinata, Rei) that wants the main character but never gets him because he ends up with the loud, and outgoing redhead (Sakura, Asuka). The “plot” is some kind of evil spirit of some sort’s been running around school. Asuna and the others think it’s some sort of a weird monster and 2 of Haruna (?)’s doodles come to life. I thought the cat thing was cute but it made me forget if I was watching Negima, or Di Gi Charat. Also while battling the random flower monster, Asuna conveniently gets tired from lack of eating (why is she such a glutton in this version?) and so Negi pakuti’s with Nodoka. Personally I’m looking forward to seeing the Haru OVA because I actually read that part of the manga and interested to see the anime adaptation.

I’m a bit tired
so this is gonna be a quick commentary. I just wanna say the random image panneling during the “Asuna tells Negi she knows he’s a mage” scene really gave me a headache. Also I guess because the atmosphere of this Negima is so serious it’s making Evangeline seem like this evil wench, but after reading the manga it’s really hard for me to see her this way because she really is not. She’s just a poor woman who’s crush put a spell on her and ran away. I’d be mad too! I don’t particularly like that scene where they showed the class list and moved back & forth from picture to picture based on who’s voice it was. All this is just making it seem over exessive “decoration” or something. Oh yea I also don’t really like the opening or the ending. Happy Material FTW!

Oh man this is so great!
It’s so good to see this show where I don’t have to deal with Negi’s head between some girl’s legs every 5 minutes. All of us have been wondering what exactly this is. A remake? New story? Well kinda both. It starts out showing the whole issue between Nagi (Negi’s dad) and Evangeline. I’ve recently read up to volume 15 of the manga so the show is a lot easier to follow than the previous series did. Anyway Negi still gets the assignment to be a teacher in Japan and that’s where he sets off. Although it seems they’ve really made Anya (his childhood friend) an annoying brat in this one.
