So this week we have a barrage of Inuyasha parodies and for the first time I actually caught what they were saying through the “bleeps” both times! XD Also not pictured here but at the end of the episode, the short kid was like “Tengen Toppa” and the Gurenn Lagan part was cut off. Nice job anime team!

Upcoming Attractions: Hayate becomes a trap!

Lotsa parodies I caught this week XD My favorite was the one for next week’s preview where Hayate says “service service!” like they did in the previews for Evangelion TV series. Anyway this week Hayate comes back from fighting those bad guys from ep 1-2 again as well as that kimono girl’s mob of servants. I noticed pretty much everything in Hayate is a parody “Oh I’ve seen this samurai battle before” or “Oh look another scene of a girl in a bathtub” but I guess I only like to point out the not so “typical” parody scenes. (Such as little easter eggs you find throughout the episode. Those are always more fun to point out to me. Anyway the obvious first one this week was a painting of a blue Pikachu on Nagi’s wall. Well I’m back. It seems like I was able to get on my mom’s wireless smoothly so it doesn’t seem like I’ll have trouble getting anime. The only thing is that because I have to go to NYC very often for interviews there might be days where I will just not blog a series because I won’t have time to get to it right away etc. Anyway this week’s Hayate parodies were great and I was able to recognize a few of them. The most obvious one was when they showed 2 character from Marchen Awakens Romance. I never actually seen that show beyond 1 ep but someone asked me to do a kiriban of these two not too long ago which is how I remembered them. I’m glad the characters didn’t turn out to be as annoying as expected and even the kimono girl’s “oro oro” thing made me laugh. XD (Is that like a Kenshin parody?) Continue Reading »

I think I’m gonna now blog this show based on what parodies I can catch that week along with a quick summary rundown. Once again, I don’t read the manga, so I don’t know if it was in the manga, nor do I care to read it because people said the manga is better….and that will only take away from my anime viewing exerience (i.e. sumomomomomomo). While attempting to deliver Nagi’s lunch to her school, Hayate ends up meeting Hinagiku, which seems like a pink haired less loli (?) version of Nagi….who’s I guess main feature is that she’s the student council president. Unfortunately he never does end up delivering the lunch because of Hinagiku’s insane sister, but surprisingly Nagi completely understands. Continue Reading »

So this week I cracked up because of the random sailormoon parody. Actually everytime I see someone doing “____ kawatte oshiokiyo” I pee my pants. (i.e. excel saga.) Obviously in Nagi’s case it’s “in the place of money, I’ll punish you.” LOL XD Anyway after Hayate has a brawl with the talking tiger, the head butler says he doesn’t feel Hayate is good enough for the job. I cannot rave and LOL enough about this show. Hey they even threw in a Detective Conan statue! XD I also really loved how they kept going “the end” and the voices were like “wait damnit it’s not over yet!” I don’t even know how to blog this properly because to fully understand the hillarity you have to just sit down and watch it yourself. Basically what happened is Hayate becomes Nagi’s butler and he’s really good at cleaning it seems. Then he runs into Nagi’s manga (I bet she draws yaoi doujinshi XD) and she’s angry that he calls it a “picture book” so she boots him out. Then they realize he has a large amount of money due and so he’s taken away by those dudes again. Nagi puts on a stupid mask and goes to “save him”. She gives them the money and asks him “on behalf of the ojousama” to come back and be a butler once more. I know it sounds simple but the way it was put together just cracked me up. It’s really been a while since I watched a show and actually laughed out loud or cracked a (non-sarcastic) smile. I’m hesitant about getting the manga since usually the manga is better than the anime and I want to continue enjoying the anime for what it is, rather than comparing its flaws to the original work.

Upcoming Attractions: Hayate vs some white tiger…with an episode title parodying a Japanese movie.

So I saw the trailer for this last week and got really drawn into it..and so needless to say I really enjoyed the first episode and I plan to continue watching this show. Actually I think Hayate’s adorable and he’s bringing out a shotacon from deep within my heart. The thing that I guess drew me in the trailer is the part where he jumps on to Nagi near the vending machines and goes “I came to take you away” or some crap which she TOTALLY takes the wrong way. “YOU BETTER NOT CHEAT ON ME!” XD Yea that was probably what made up my mind to continue watching this show before I even saw episode one. I’m not sure how I’m gonna go about blogging this show because of its popularity I assume it’ll be the next Haruhi…but based on my poll seems like people either like what I write or just like to read every blog that posts about their favorite show…so we’ll see. The only thing I didn’t get was the “censoring” at the end where they had some little dude wich a sign that said “You can’t look at this!”
