Happy Memorial Day Kei!

He finally gets what he’s long deserved.

Well Chitose is just as annoying as Yahiro is, but at least he sorta becomes good by the end of the episode. Yahiro is a butthole and he remains a butthole as far as I’ve read in the manga. (Vol. 13) For some reason I feel once again that the way the scenes were portrayed in the manga was more emotinally impacting than the way the anime portrays them. Also at this point I can’t stand the op even if it’s just playing in the background. It really is beginning to hurt my ears to the equivalent of nails on chalkboard. Anyway baka Hikari of course follows Yahiro into his beach house thing and based on the preview he takes her captive in order to lure Akira (since he still has the hots for her.) Perhaps this is the start of them showing Akira x Tadashi get together.

Special A is like that Monday show that I LEAST look forward to every week. I just don’t know what it is anymore. Maybe the fact that I’m once again like “ohh boy poor Kei, Hikari is still dense as a brick she’ll come around”. Or maybe it’s the fact that the general execution of the show…just bores me? Does anyone else feel this way? Or rather, is anyone watching this show and thinking it’s particularly awesome? What is it that you find awesome about it? I’m having a hard time figuring this out. I look forward to Soul Eater so much Mondays and that’s on the like polar opposite end of my interest for Special A. It’s too bad since I really liked the manga. Maybe some things just don’t transfer quite as well….cause in the manga I really liked the scene of Hikari admitting to Kei that “he may like her”.

Well it’s been a while but I actually liked this week’s episode! I quite enjoyed the Kei x Hikariness and having her blushing over the fact that Kei may like her. I also love Yahiro’s seiyuu. He’s voiced all those hot guys in my otome games….I heard him moaning!! LOL. Although I have to admit his happy voice is a little different from his usual “ronery emo bishie” voice (but it does come out through some of his lines since Yahiro is a pretty twisted character in general.) I know some readers here like Yahiro and Akira but I kinda like Akira paired up with Tadashi…and that’s what we’re gonna see next week. (Yahiro should just get with Megumi anyway >_>;)

Well what can I say I can’t even remember this arc in the manga…I was getting it jumbled up with another arc from like volume 7 and I know this is gotta be somewhere in the beginning. I’m having trouble recalling if there was a “massive ice cream scoop cone” vs “Hikari juggling 3 massive cotton candy sticks” scene though..that was kinda weird. Also I don’t know but for some reason the characters’ faces get more and more square every week. Maybe it’s my imagination I dunno. At least this week no one’s voice really bothered me. Next week they’re gonna introduce what’s his face, the one Megumi likes. Let’s all pray that his voice doesn’t pop our eardrums.

I think Special A deserves the award for “worst casting of the year”. I mean what the hell were they thinking when they used a high pitched female voice for Kei’s dad?? I mean I know he’s kinda girly but there’s plenty of guys they could have used (such as the cast of Junjou Romantica) that could have fit into the role just as well. But no, they pick a girl, and not a good male voice girl like Paku Romi, some high pitched girl who should be voicing someone from Di Gi Charat Nyo. At least Sui’s voice was tollerable. Ah the famous episode of Hikari and her iron onigiri. She gives the real meaning to “iron chef” as all her food ends up like a rock. I’m slowly starting to get used to Yuko Goto’s voice now and I actually found it amusing that during the imagination scene of the Kaichou she sounded like Mikuru-chan ^^;. Only thing that’s been bugging me more than ever is the character designs all of a sudden. I dunno what it is, but all of a sudden I’m like “wtf is with that long face? omg wtf nose?” Also my favorite scene was when Megumi’s notepad said “HELP” on it I’m just finding myself impatient like I was during the first couple manga volumes until Hikari finally “saw the light”.

Upcoming Attractions: I believe Hikari gets to meet Kei’s dad & shota brother.
