Also, I’ve really given up on late show at this point. Based on the pattern of the last 4 episodes, late show has become basically a “sneak peek” into further episodes as they would either show footage or just run the next episode period. So between last week and now, I actually read all of the Soul Eater manga released in Japan to date..meaning I’m up to ch. 47 and past volume 11. This means I have a crapload of spoilers but I know a lot of people have not read this far so I’m having a hairy time figuring out a good way to blog this show. Should I just warn people that there MAY be spoilers in my post or something? I’ll try not to spoil anything major, but for starters, rewatching the OP made me go “OOOH! I actually love Soul Eater to bits & pieces that I don’t mind watching it twice but eh I’m out of time this week because of a certain movie so I just skipped to the parts I figured would be different. Despite what you may think, the part with Liz & Patty (with their pants down in the manga) actually wasn’t any less censored in the late night version. The Late Show version this week just featured a half time break showing that showed the answer to the questions during the sponsor window after the OP. The question was like do these things have symmetry (since Kid is like OCD lol). Basically if you watched Monday’s episode you’d already know the answer. The other noteable thing is the different preview for the Sid arc next week.

Yes I am now on ch. 30 of the manga so I have every right to talk about it! One of these days I’ll do a massive Soul x Maka tribute post. Just you wait! Also I did some fanart.

So as recommended by someone in my late show post from last week I guess I’ll continue blogging both broadcasts until it’s apparent that the differences are too minor. The end of the episode confirmed that the prologue is over and that the story will begin. I’ve really jumped on the Soul Eater bandwagon after NYCC. I even jumped on a shipping wagon so expect fangirling about Maka and Soul sooner rather than later. Anyway let’s move on to this week’s character introduction: Death the Kid. Continue Reading »

Just for the record - Saturday is the only day I’ve attended and that’s it for me. My brain, ears and toes can take no more of the insanity. I really wish I could have met a lot more people than I did, but it goes to show you that if you really want to meet someone - get their cell phone number. Meeting up at a place or hoping to catch them at XYZ is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I’m starting to really wonder what the point of Late Show is now. While technically yes they added extra content a lot of it felt like recycled footage with some “new” dialogue. To be specific, there’s a scene during the eyecatch of Maka & Soul saying “we don’t have much screen time”. At the end after the credits there’s a short segment of Maka’s dad and Blair and he talks about how he’s a panty maker. Finally in the preview for next week instead of showing footage of Death the Kid grabbing boobs, they show footage of him getting beaten up (to which he says “Wait why’s there all this footage of me getting beat up?!?”) So really it’s not worth watching. See screenshots below of what you “miss” if you don’t.

I’ll give late show 1 more week and if it’s this crap again I’m calling it quits and just sticking to the Monday broadcast.
