So I was
wrong, this week actually wasn’t a filler (unless you consider the random scenes of the Shugo Charas racing as filler.) It featured the chapter in volume 4 where they have the volleyball tournament and Kairi & Tadase act as man-cheerleaders. Also featured Rima breaking out of her ice queen facade a little bit. At the end it was revealed that Kairi is in cahoots with Easter because of his sister. At this point I guess I have trouble seeing Kairi as a bad guy since I know what happens later on. Next week is following the story from vol. 5 featuring Yaya and why her Shugo Chara is a baby. I think we’ll possibly get to see her chara-nari as well.

I know everyone’s been anticipating this:
“Siblings”
“You’re so cold to me, even though we went on a date together at the amusement park at night”

I’m so exhausted I don’t have the energy for any summaries but generally the episode stayed true to the story. Unfortunately I think next week is a filler so I may end up skipping it. I’m glad the anime team didn’t cut this part out and make up something about how Utau is his non blood related sister or she’s adopted or some other jazz.

TOO CLOSE! PLEASE SEPARATE YOURSELVES.
The episode covers the inauguration of the 2 new Guardians Rima and Kairi as the new Queen & Jack. Tadase also recommends that in order to stop the growing number of X-eggs that they team up and help Amu. Lucky for them, Rima can also do a chara-nari and does so when they run into an X-egg at one point. She also acts like a tsuntsun bitch like she is (but we’ll forgive her because I read the manga) and tells Amu that her role as Joker is a failure. Meanwhile back at the ranch Eru wakes up at Amu’s house and tells Ran her sob story about Utau and their plans for world domination.
There’s also the scene with Ikuto teasing Tadase about how he used to call him “oniitan” and how “Oniitan taught him how to ride a bike”
Episode ends with Utau finding Amu’s X-egg.
Upcoming Attractions: Kuukai comes back for a short time & the battle with Utau. I am curious to know whether we’ll see Utau admitting her brother-con next week and the kiss!

I have
a massive headache but I’ll try to mass blog all I can before I pass out. (
to 6 hour train rides but anyway) So now we’ve reached half time and Shugo Chara is rolling into it’s 2nd half of the long season. Thankfully the story is now on track so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way. Basically this episode covered the beginning of volume 4 where Rima transfers into Amu’s class, Amu’s Diamond egg is born and turned into an X egg, and with Eru running away from Utau. Some noteworthy things are the new OP and Ed as well. I like the ED song a lot more this time around. Also as someone pointed out in my last post, Amu and Ikuto are seeing flying together in the OP, perhaps that means more Amuto in the 2nd half (a filler of Amuto is fine too.
)
For some reason I always thought Rima was younger because she is so tiny lol
Upcoming Attractions: Rima shows off her chara nari and Eru decides to take room & board at Amu’s place.

Omg I
called it. Let me back up for a second. Someone notified me in my last post that my Shugo Chara posts were a week behind. With that in mind I grabbed episode 26 and just as I had hoped, we get the Amu Ikuto teacup scene!!! XDXD This is so exciting I had to take a buttload of screencaps. This episode also follows the manga in where Kuukai graduates and Ikuto & Amu have some raburabu bonding time. Amutofans come on in! Continue Reading »

A little
early but here’s this week’s Shugo Chara! Ok this was a great episode and I’m not just saying it because it followed the manga. The manga scene only took like 4-5 pages while the anime stretched it to 24 minutes. Despite that, I still enjoyed it and I guess the best part is we got to watch some character interaction for once rather than seeing Amu defeating some X-egg of the week. Anyway this week focuses on our favorite trap: Nadeshiko! Continue Reading »

I know
you’ve all been impatiently waiting so here it is. But before I go into it I have to first talk trash about Kinokuniya and Japanese racism since it is relevant to me purchasing this book. As you guys know Shugo Chara has Special Edition volumes that come out along with every normal edition when a Shugo Chara volume is released. Kinokuniya only had 2 volume 6’s sitting out period, neither of which was the SE. I asked a lady working there if she could help me find a Special Edition or open up one of the drawers where they keep extra books. She told me “can you please wait” because she seemed in the middle of something. Ok that’s cool I just hung around looked at random How to Draw Manga books while I waited. I then saw her come back but rather than helping me, her attitude went from “Go away white person” to “Hi I’d love to help you find it” when she decide to help a random Japanese family who had come upstairs during the time I waited…and basically ignoring my existence. That’s great Kinokuniya. You market your sorry asses towards weeaboos, but when we come to spend money, you ignore us. Yea well you just lost about $6 extra from one of us, fags. And now let’s continue on to the manga review.
