Special A - 21
At
this point I can’t really tell if they’re going for a full original ending or if they’re going to incorporate bits & pieces of the manga. The episode began with Aoi coming down from London and spying on Kei with Hikari’s cooperation. Unfortunately that only convinced him to take Kei back to London. Dense Hikari still didn’t understand why even after he showed her that Kei is the president of the Takishima company in Japan and has a lot on his plate. Hikari just sees him as “greater rival”.
In addition, Aoi takes Hikari to the shack in the woods and shows him some more videos of when Kei was a shota and how he got the #1 award for random global events. Hikari still doesn’t get it and Aoi asks her to try to punch him at least once to prove that she can rival Kei. Hikari fails to do so and Aoi pins her against the wall telling her to stay away from Kei.
Meanwhile Kei magically figured out where Hikari was soon as he heard from Akira that Aoi was in Japan. He took a cab to the woods shack but there was an accident which caused traffic delays so he RAN like a bajillion miles and climbed through the mountain to get there. I mean I know the man’s “perfect in every day” but who the hell jumps off a bridge and survives?
Well at least we got our Hikari x Kei moment when Hikari randomly began to squeel out his name. (God that made my ears bleed.) At the end Hikari blushed and told Kei that when she found out he would be transferred to London it made her chest hurt. Kei told her that it’s as if she likes him, as a lover not a friend. Hikari then got the stupidest look on her face which was probably my favorite part of the episode.
Upcoming Attractions: Kei and Hikari’s doki doki date?

I love your review. Thanks a lot. ^^
It is kind of frustrating how Hikari is being sort of oblivious to her feelings for Kei. Anywho, I´ll still watch the ep since I love Special A.
Hikari’s face looks like a whale in that last picture. XD
I have to say there is a limit to how dense one can be. 21 episodes in Hikari doesn’t understand that she likes Kei and we’re supposed to believe she’s a normal functioning teenager? Oy vey
I’m more surprised I stuck this show out more than anything so only 5 episodes left until I can replace this show with a new fall show. Hmm, it could just be possible that I enjoy watching the stories revolving around the other SA members since Hikari and Kei’s relationship is so stagnant it’s gotten boring beyond repair.
“but who the hell jumps off a bridge and survives?”
Well, if I’m not mistaken, Usui in Kaichou wa Maid-sama! jumped off the roof of the school and survived. Sure, he was covered in cuts and needed to go to the hospital, but I don’t see how the bridge is so different. ^_^
At this point, I just want to know how it ends. Hikari’s so dense she makes lead look like tissue paper - the fact that they’ve only just gotten to this point in Kei and Hikari’s relationship with only three episodes to go doesn’t leave much (if any) development.
It’s already frustrating to read the manga when the relationship between Kei and Hikari is so slow-paced (and yet all the other pairings have super fast development), I can’t imagine what it’s like to sit for a twenty-some minute episode and getting virtually nothing out of them. I can understand why a lot of people hate the anime, but I hope they get into the manga. Your review will be plenty for me.
But ugh, even the manga is getting on my nerves. I read the latest chapter of the manga and all I have to say is: WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM NEED TO GET PAIRED UP. Jeebus, they need to all calm down with the pairings. It’s getting annoying.
“Hikari randomly began to squeel out his name. (God that made my ears bleed.)”
Ugh… That scream… I think I’m deaf now xD
Ruri> I like the pairings though
LMAO it’s like my dream to pair every character ever all in 1 show!! But yea the anime kinda sucks, I’m not sure how they plan to wrap it all up by suddenly making Hikari like Kei when previously she acted like he’s nothing but a rival to her.
Fion> Yea he was covered in cuts…while Kei looked like he didn’t have a single scratch
kakkoii> I think I watched it cause I felt I had to since I read the manga, it’s like some kind of self torture
Ruliann> You know what, I’m beginning to see a pattern here. *points to Clannad’s numerous side arcs but OMG SLOW Nagisa arc
*
..i luv ur reviews.. it is not really spoiling but rather it even excites us more…. i am so excited now…
Hm, I heard that at the ending of the anime (last 2 eps), it’s going to be something like, “The SA is taken away from the people! Oh noes!”
Reminds me of Ouran…REALLY reminds me of Ouran.
