Soul Eater - 21
This is what I think of your x264 raws. 
Ugh I swear if it wasn’t for horrible raws I’d just quit blogging this show until November or something. 
Oh well it was great episode. I really did enjoy the Maka saving Chrona bit and the Soul & Maka beating the “demon” in their souls.
It’s too bad Chrona has to suck ass a few arcs after this ends. 
She coulda been a decent character.
In addition the ending theme was adjusted a bit to fit the Chroma & Maka friendship theme

Another great episode as usual. Though I found myself not sympathizing with Chrona one bit.

well, so I guess we will have big battle vs Kishin itself as a finale to this 24 episode series… can I hope there will be more? (2nd season plx!)

Hinano, I switched from VLC media player to mplayer recently. Some of the larger video files that would lag using VLC work perfectly using mplayer. I don’t know what media player you use, but you might consider investigating other ones.

Hinano> I think you misunderstood. MPlayer is different than WMP and Media Player Classic. Its an open source media player similar to VLC. I switched originally because many fansubs only show correctly using MPlayer (not that you worry about that
). It had the nice bonus of eliminating the lag that plagued my VLC player. I’m just hoping you’ll keep blogging Soul Eater :mrgreen:.

Actually I’ve noticed that Zero-Raws has released DVD-res xvid raws for each of the last three eps, so maybe someone over there is a fan of your site? Of course, they release them a day or two after the 720p x264 version… Actually, this review seemed a little later than usual to me, and when you didn’t have it up right after I’d downloaded said 720p beast like usual, I just assumed it was because you were still leeching the Z-R DVD-res rip. ^_^
On a related note, what are your computer’s specs? I work on computers for a living, so maybe I can suggest something (maybe a cheap upgrade, etc., as a lot of video cards now, even low-end ones, are getting x264 acceleration built in for better blu-ray support). As for the current problem, I’d suggest going in and uninstalling all your anime download-related media programs you’ve installed (VLC, Media Player Classic, CCCP, any other codec packs you’ve installed that allow you to uninstall them, etc.) and then just install the main CCCP download that includes Media Player Classic. I’ve got just that installed on my crappy laptop, and that’s more than enough for the odd ep I feel like watching in the kitchen during a midnight snack.
You’ve definitely got to get rid of VLC, though. As Yuki says, it sucks. ^_^
kenny> It may suck, but at least it actually OPENS the files. MPClassic and WMP don’t even open the files anymore. I posted Soul Eater last because I downloaded the shit DVD raw, deleted it and had to torrent the “horrible raws” version instead.
My computer is a piece of shit toshiba laptop with no video card (its one of those integrated intel piece of garbage ones), 2 gigs of ram and windows visshit. I’m not going to upgrade this piece of trash and in fact I’m going to buy myself a desktop for my birthday in November. I can’t buy one now because we’re moving in like 2 months and I don’t want to have to lug a desktop if I don’t have to.
Maybe someone @ Zero-Raws does read my blog because I did see them recently adding some Xvid/Divx compatible files but a lot of times they aren’t added until later, and when I’m sitting there twiddling my thumbs because I can’t watch what is out, I just download the “horrible raws version” (indeed they are horrible and that’s why they win) so I can at least watch it.
2 weeks ago with that Haruka episode where Shiina was swimming, it was SO FUCKING Lagged I had no idea what was going on because I would just see a random shot of her ass while she is swimming, and then hear cheering before seeing another random shot of water. It’s like watching a power point slide show.
Think waiting for raws to be uploaded is horrible? Try waiting for anything to be subbed excluding Bleach and Naruto.. The most I waited was like 3 weeks for ZnT episode 3 come out because Osu! was being a bitch about subbing it.

it doesnt take hard work to release a lower quality raw, you just pop it into a converter and let it rip.
fansubbing involves translating, timing, editing, AND encoding. you’re comparing apples and oranges here
