Well
as expected this week was a filler episode. I don’t think they should have included Maka and Soul happily eating together in the living cause it contrasts with a scene where they had a fight int he manga immediately following last week’s episode ^^; Other than that there wasn’t really anything exciting. The only funny part was at the beginning where Excalibur somehow ended up in some bootleg West Side Story and they had random words popping up on the screen: Buag Ah! YEAH Boy No! Ouch Pencil Hi America Puckin (lol) Splash What Guy Nice Brooom Hayeeee! Great Hahaha How!Nice! Yeaaa! Ok. (I think I got them all
)
Upcoming Attractions: The story finally returns with action at the dance party.

So apparently their announced “hole cup” event last week doesn’t even start until August 7th…which is actually when the “next” update of A18 is scheduled. I contacted the help desk and they confirmed it sadly.
It makes me wonder why do they announce it 2 weeks in advance if it doesn’t start until 2 weeks later? And why not mention in their update the exact day that it will start? I don’t understand why all the games OGPlanet picks up somehow become abandoned. And now they’re picking up LaTale as well and it’s only a matter of time before that gets left in the dust along with A18.
It reminds me of back in the day when IRO was kinda abandoned too then in like 2004 the updates began churning really fast because of new management I believe. I wish something like this would happen to A18 but at this rate it seems to be getting worse and worse every update.

After 6.5 months of signing up on their mailing list Mitsuwa finally sent me their weekly circular:
Thanks guys I appreciate the quick turnaround! Well anyway as you can see above, the annual Mitsuwa summer festival is Saturday August 9th this year, so I can finally come decked out in my yukata. If you’re going see you there (maybe this time being able to spot me will be easier?

Amu vs.
Utau fight was actually pretty awesome, although I don’t remember that Utau defeated Amu - I thought it was Amu that won and Utau was all like hopeless and stuff. The sailor moon parody was cut out but I guess they don’t want any nice letters from TOEI animation so whatevs. Was Ikuto supposed to show up? I can’t be bothered to check volume 6. I’m having a hard time disliking Utau after reading volume 6 and especially 7 so I won’t call her an evil bitch today. I also liked the part with Ami and Tadase, haha that was cute.
In other news, I found this video to be a little more amusing:

I’m
back from Ghetto Splash (which HAS to be run by the same people who made this disaster because their new site looks identical) so my head is a bit fried. I did manage to watch this episode on the train ride there though (which helped kill time.) It was an interesting episode, but I thought in the preview last week they were gonna have that kid confess to Youko but that…never happened. The Makiko’s Wrestling Hobbies part was kinda boring but it was funny at the end when she told the wrestler to go dance Para Para…and he did
Also we found out the story of how Youko’s dad married her mom - and apparently she was this rich miss popular so that’s why I guess she bosses him around now. You can tell which daughter went after who.
Upcoming Attractions: Youko catches her dad with another woman!

I never thought I’d be using this phrase outside of my cynical jokes but it’s a sad day for Cafe Zaiya.
The owner Hirokazu Sano, died in a flame that engulfed his house. By some twist of fate his wife and kids were on a vacation in Japan so they are safe. That’s too bad considering that Cafe Zaiya just opened up another store (Cafe Zest) in Midtown. One of my co-workers said he saw the man once during Zaiya’s after hours.
That’s a shame, I hope this doesn’t change things for the way Zaiya is run, it’s one of my favorite Japanese places to eat.
