Nico Gets Gaijin Friendly.

So out of the ashes of this tragedy it seems Nico Nico (Summer) has plans in store for a more English friendly site.

昨年10月に台湾版から開始した海外版ですが、この度、視聴プレーヤーが英語に対応！

さらに、新たな対応言語として、ドイツ語、スペイン語を追加。

対応範囲も、タグやカテゴリ、SMILEVIDEOなどに拡大し、メンテナンス情報やヘルプ情報も多言語で表記されます。

Basically according to their update news they will be making the nico player in English (which I think is just going to make the menus such as “comments, filters” etc. in English.) They will also make the help files for Smile video in english as well (so maybe now I’ll actually know how to use their code when adding a video description.) They also have plans to do the same in Spanish and German. But since we got copyright ninjas watching us left & right the only thing left on nico nico is gay porn, vocaloid, otome/eroge walkthroughs and random anime OP/ED videos. :sad:

    Well at least they’re trying to make up for it.

    And still whenever I hear ‘Nico Nico’ I think it’s a brand of cigarettes. :neutral:

    Hm, but a Nico Nico in English will be welcome, even if it will feel ever so….weird.

    Too little, too late. Nico’s dead for all intensive purposes. All we can do is wait for the Next Big Thing or migrate over to Youtube (ugh) at this point.

    I don’t see any major take-down sweeps yet, but then I don’t browse Niconico that intensively.

    Are you still pissed at youtube? :razz: They removed that video ages ago; I assumed the wounds would have healed by now.

    More than likely someone reported it or you were so popular that it got too much attention.

    I expect the “Gay porn” link to bring you plenty of googles. Last time I clicked a link like that I was taken to an obese 20-something calling itself a “Shota.”
