A Pavane for a Crying Girl
I bet
that doesn’t sound as weird when you say “Nakishoujo no tame Pavannu”
Anyway apparently it’s Koge Donbo’s new work. I saw it on her blog entry this afternoon. I’ve yet to obtain the last volume of Kamichama Karin but I have to admit something sad: I’m just not looking forward to this work. First of all she mentions that there are 12 girls (and 1 main character. It’s like a harem setting already and those never work out too well. The other problem I’m having is the characters pictured here look like Karin & Kazune clones. I mean I realize it’s the same artist, but why create 13 characters that are just rehashes of your previous works?
(Geez Misaki - with the bunny hairbands is a freaking Misha clone =_=)
It reminds me of my general disappointment with Tanemura Arina as well. I know she has some 3 chapter thing out but that’s just the last drop before she’s taking a long overdue break. I used to blindly buy manga because I liked the artwork but then the story ended up sucking ass. So anyone out there have their interest piqued by this? I think I’m going to have to pass. I’m selling more manga to BookOff than I’m buying these days anyway. ![]()

Er, when I hear 12 sisters and 1 main character I immediately think of The 12 Dancing Princesses. Which I actually really like as a fairy tale, so hopefully it’s more along those lines? (what’s a “pavane” anyway?”)
But yeah, then after that I think of Sister Princess. *ugh*
Oh well, one can always hope. 12 Dancing Princesses is a fairy tale that doesn’t get nearly enough love.
Pavane for a Dead Princess is one of the most awesomest of awesome pieces EVAR. (if you’re referring to Ravel)
My fave 12 sisters are the Lady Marciano’s killer cyber-loli team

Modelled warhammer 40k squad after them
Dakka, dakka!
Lelangir> Uh I dunno I’m referring to Koge Donbo’s new manga
ewok> that sounds like strike witches.
L-chan> So like is this a ripoff of some old fairy tale?? I’m so confused now
I think おなご means simply woman or girl.
I don’t know if it is, I was only hoping that it was. Because aside from the fairy tale, I can’t thin of any storyline involving 12 sisters that I would actually like.
Do you know the tale, Hinano? I guess it’s one of the slightly more obscure Grimm tales.
So it have 12 sisters? Well i don’t know, i will try reading the first chap, and then i see if i will continue or not, but for now i’m interested in this series
alright then I guess its not sisters but eh still a harem setting
I feel the same way about Tanemura-sensei… and Koge Donbo too of course, amongst other mangaka… D: It’s kinda frightening me now since I’m a candidate to be hired to draw some shoujo manga for someone right now ><
Ah, on the topic of shoujo manga, have you read Moe Kare? I thought it was a fun read. Though I ruined it by reading the mangaga’s other works, and ended up thinking “wow he/she looks just like —–!!!”
If you can only draw 3 types of face then you should have very few more than 3 characters. Also her character designs seem almost sterotypical.
There is no way I would read this because of the risk that each girl is born in a different month resulting in my brain desperately trying to escape through my ears.
tess> no i have not read it before, i havent heard of it either
I aggree with them looking like rehashes. A LOT look like Kazune. XD And a few look like Misha. xD;; And that second one looks like a bit older version of Shia.
Yeah. I might look into it, but probably not. Plus I think my brain might just go “BOOM” trying to keep track of them all.
IT LOOKS GOOD! but the storyline … *yawn*
“The other problem I’m having is the characters pictured here look like Karin & Kazune clones.”
I thought they were Karin and Kazune clones too.
I love Koge Donbo’s works, but this one doesn’t seem to interest me. I’ll probably check it out only because the Kazune clone has a violin.
*goes to look at the violin again*
…No way! I just realized that the Kazune clone has wings!
I hope he’s not an angel.
if you do not weep you are a truly heartless person!
this is also a lovely version (at least for youtube standards, sound quality aside).
A loli-Misha is fine too. How do we know she isn’t actually Misha? >_> It’s Meiji-era. Just like when *spoilersaboundinsidehereaboutsomeotherstory*.
And Shia too. By the Kazune clones, I hope you mean the two nuns. >_>
The boy is a Klaus clone. Maybe this is the story about why Klaus got demoted to a kuroneko! Molesting innocent musume no doubt.
Remember this is a *shounen* mag. ie, fanservice galore and the obligatory harem.
my 12 sisters?
A reference to obscure anime it was, you can see them here:

humm.. first thing i reminds me of is La Corda d’Oro lol… except it’s the opposite and diff in someways..
hmmm i am surprised there is no dejiko clones lol
haha well maybe cause Broccoli would get mad? There’s totally a Rabien Rose clone though!
i hope they release it in america, although i hate harem i love her cute characters ^.^
I’m definitely gonna try this manga! Koge-Donbo is one of my favorite mangaka aside from Tobe Keiko. This looks sooooo cute and kinda a bit like La Corda D’Oro since this is about music only that it’s taking place at the end of the Meiji Era. I don’t care what you say about it, Hinano, I’m gonna try this out! I hope this gets released in America too!
I’ll love Koge-Donbo forever because of Pita-Ten and Little Snow Fairy Sugar, but I don’t actually like the direction her art has been going recently, where the hair has too many strands and is too shiny. I preferred it when her art looked more like this, resembling the Pita-Ten/Sugar animation character designs. She has recently drawn in a more restrained style in Yoki Koto Kiku (where the art was great but the story sucked) and some Idolmaster and Harry Potter fan art. But she seems to be back to her normal mode for this new manga.
What I usually doo since I can only buy manga when I visit the U.S is buy the last volume of any manga that I like (because I already read it online) then buy the other volumes a little later…That way noo disappointment involved X3.
If this story turns out too be more than 8 volumes with not counting any possible sequels. Then ill look into it…other wise i have my hands full with Shugo chara, Ouran highschool host club; Spice and wolf, Zero no tsukaima and a bunch of other stories from my manga traders account XD.
