Persona -Trinity Soul- 26 (Finale)

Published by Hinano at 10:08 pm under Persona

Just like it’s opening, Persona’s ending made no sense either but I will try my best to explain it anyway. :P

So while Carrie Ayane was walking around basically stealing everyone’s energy it turned out that the tracking device attached to her was also a remote controlled detonating bomb. Unfortunately they waited too damn long to activate it so by the time he hit the explode button she blew the it off herself and it exploded further away. She also then merged with chibi ayane (who wasn’t so chibi anymore) and it created Personagelion. (Someone seriously needs to make an eva parody video of this show, and if it’s already done please point me to a video link. )

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Shin is in dreamland where he meets Yuki Jun and Ryo. Basically to cut the crap and fantasy talk, Ryo wants to destroy all Personas and end this “Persona” thing once and for all. With that in mind, he is using Yuki and Jun as sacrifices to Ayane and they both agreed to it as well. Shin is completely against this because he feels that the incident will cause the same explosion that injured everyone 10 years ago. (Also it was depressing when in the beginning they showed a past image of chibi Ryo leaning over his dead dog.)

Ryo told this to Akihiko as well that’s why he didn’t want him to “interfere” with Ayane’s great 3rd impact plans. :P Also Megumi begins to fight her but when she’s almost losing, Takurou comes to her rescue. How sweet :) Just when I thought the 2 of them were gonna get killed, suddenly like we see a flash of Kanaru holding Shin’s hand and then her Persona appears and saves them. Oh Kanaru how I miss you :(

So then finally Shin is back on the beach and he sees the Ayane Personagelion 3rd Impact thing going on and he tries to stop it but Ryo brings out his persona to push him back. Shin says he doesn’t want Jun to die and while Jun and Ayane are “merging” Ryo suddenly has a change of heart and his persona like shoots lasers everywhere destroying Ayane’s little “process”. So with Shin they successfully destroys everything and Ayane as well. Man Shin was always Ryo’s favorite lol. After Ayane is destroyed we can see Ryo’s persona begin to disintegrate into feathers.

Afterwards we see Jun, Shin, Ryo and the detective dudes on the beach. The water is covered with a ton of feathers. Shin is crying over Ryo’s dead body. I can’t say I got emotional or moved here because the whole time I was under the impression that Ryo was dead. I thought his “body” was there like “in spirit” or some shat. Anyway um so time passes and I believe Shin has to repeat his last year of high school or something but he goes back to his school back in the countryside. (Or maybe he goes to college? I don’t really get it.)

Jun stays behind and continues going to school but he ends up living at the dorm. Actually that house is now abandoned, do the Japanese like never have to pay for utilities or any kind of mortgage? I mean Shin’s whole family is like dead why do they need that house? :???: And then it shows Jun and Shin walking down the road together towards the bus stop. And like that’s it. Wow umm what about the people who got their conscious knocked out of them? Are they back to normal? Are they dead? What about the town folk? It’s like the whole ending was only focused on the Kanzato’s and well the hell with everyone else  Oh well uh not the most satisfying ending but I guess I’ll roll with it. Overall not bad of a series. Nothing spectacular but hey it made me cry so I’ll give it brownie points for that.

I really need to watch this series now that it has ended. Stopped somewhere at episode 11 or 12, for some reason or another.

One thing I loved about persona -trinity soul- was the scenery. Nothing comparable to Byousoku, but still nice stuff.

It definitely left more questions that answers, but oh well… At least we got to see Kanaru for a few seconds.
Good thing Ryo actually liked Shin, ’cause I was starting to wonder whether or not he blamed him for what happened to their parents. =3
In my opinion it would’ve gotten a 9, but since Kanaru died and I still have questions it goes down to 8.

HAha I gave it a 10 because I really liked it - then they had this poopy ending so it dropped down to a 9 :P

Left as many questions as answers, but it wasn’t a horrible ending at least. :)

I stopped at ep. 9 when the words “brain transplant” inspired a ragequit and a deletion of torrents+ data.

LOL well I think the key here is to ignore the fact that its called “Persona” and just treat it as its own series. It wasn’t so awful that its unwatchable, so I actually enjoyed it despite it being not the usual series that I like to watch

It was actually pretty horrible. The Marebito were pathetic villains, and to me there really was no, “so what” at the end of the series. I still don’t understand wht the 2 versions of Ayane is, why she’s so powerful, what the whale feathers story has to do with her, why Ryo is doing whatever the heck he is since he disappeared, why the Marebito were such pathetic villains, and what was the whole point of the souls appearing in other bodies?

9jou actually possessed (or transfered his psyche to) Ayane’s artificial double after the fight in his base. You can hear his voice in few last scenes from Ayane’s mouth.

Just watched this now. It was mildly underwhelming, but still, I won’t let it detract from the enjoyable mind-screw acid-trip this series has been overall. :P

One thing I didn’t get is why they chose the final episode to make the Personae more… Persona-y. I mean, Megumi’s used a bow instead of those lasers, and Takuro’s pulled some crazy Ziodyne (Zio = Thunder spells in the games) stuff on Ayane Sr. I woulda liked that earlier on. ):

Oh well, it was nice to see the Kanazato family, or what’s left of it, kinda happy. I’m guessing Jun’s now one less Yuki away from being a trap though. Shame, that was good for a laugh.

Anyway, enjoyed reading your blogs on this. Now I’m off to jump on the Soul Eater bandwagon.

    To quote a friend:

“I still could not figure out what Akihiko did other than talk and make the main character dinner.”

The series had its potential, it just blew when Ayame finally showed up and Kanaru died. Kanaru’s death killed the anime.

i’m surprised you guys don’t realize how well done the ryo character is.. there hasn’t been one series out of a decent amount of works i’ve seen that presents this type of “do everything alone, shoulder everything for the sake of another without letting him/her know” character better. i can feel this character and his drives to the bone, and i come across posts saying the story is “underwhelming”.. whatever, i realize i could be a little subjective, but if i were to say to myself i am being too subjective about the reasons you people aren’t moved by this, i would also call all of you cold-hearted. or perhaps you just lack real life experience in bonding with people (no insult intended). people like ryo do exist in real life and my mother’s side of family by chance has lots of people with this type of personality.. having to do with perhaps how they were brought up.. of course they aren’t as capable as Ryo to the extend of being able to shoulder everything by themselves without ever having to consult another individual, these personalities are real, they exist, and they are rare. i feel this character to the bone.

shitty anime to a great series.
Horrible atmosphere…why are there Persona running around but no Shadows? What about the Devils? Why did Igor show up but there is no Devils around?
    Baad anime.

An Igor ALWAYS shows up because Igors are servants to mad scientists/undead/etc2.

Igor: “Yesth, mashterh… whath do youh wanth?”
