Vampire Knight Ch. 41

While I dropped the anime I’m still reading the manga. So after seeing the above I’m like wait, nevermind, Kaname sucks, he’s a weird posessive freak. Shoo Shoo! And then after the next panel or 2 or I was like oh wow Yuki you go girl….until I saw a few pages later…

SO SPEAKING OF STUPID PANSY HEROINES WHO JUST CAN’T SAY NO TO A HUNKY BISHOUNEN!
Wow that sucks I now really dislike pretty much every character in the manga. I mean honestly what the fuck is going on? I don’t know if I just read bad scanlations (which is probably true) but like I don’t know what the fuck is happening.
1) Where the hell is Zero? Last I recall he was turning into some beast in the shadows.
2) Why did Yuki’s crap sword turn into some huge axe? Cause it accepted her as a vamp not a human??
3) There’s suddenly some crazy vampire war going on? I can’t even keep up with half of the characters. I was like reading it going “who are you again?” Am I the only one who like really understands Yuki Zero and Kaname and maybe Ichijou? (Although at this point I don’t know what his deal is either.)
THIS MANGA MAKES NO SENSE TO ME WHAT THE FUCK.
(Good thing I gave up on the anime, who wants to watch this shit again!)

I totally agree, the manga-ka keep’s introducing all these new characters and i don’t even know who they are!! I was really pissed cuz Zero wasn’t even IN this chapter at like All, he was the main part in the last chapter, shouldn’t we be able to see at least where he is or what he’s doing?? I’m really confused about what’s going on with the Headmaster too T_T
I really like the manga, but i don’t know what’s going on either. I was hoping for some romance (YuukixZero) but now i think i’m just hoping for some ending where everyone dies
This turned out to be so confusing…i hope it end soon, at least this part that doesn’t make any sense…
Wth is going on
See why I don’t like this manga? And why I don’t like Kaname at all? Controlling freak that he is.
I just want this manga to end so I can stop hearing about it from rabid fangirls.
Haha yea I can see… I guess I needed a direct “quote” from him to be liek I OWN YOU WOOMAN, rather than him constantly just stalking her or whatevers XD I kinda want it to end too xP
Deception!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m depressed. This really sucks big time. Vampire Knight used to be one of my fav. manga, but it’s going down. I don’t understand anything anymore
When I read it, I sighed. It’s another talking chapter where shit doesn’t get done and created just to annoy readers. That’s the problem with this manga-ka, she doesn’t know how to balance talking and action, so now there’s going to be a fighting chapter (with ah! revelations that the characters just realize during the fighting) and then another ton of chapters where nothing happens. It’s like watching a narcoleptic toddler.
I still watch the anime, and episode 12 was pretty awesome with one pureblood slaying another, and some cool brother vs brother fight…
Well, this is getting very boring and overbearing. All the characters are getting so annoying, and now even I am disliking Kaname.
If only the characters weren’t as angsty and the manga-ka did a better job of explaining the plot, I wouldn’t be as annoyed.
I really, really am fuming mad at Yuki now for that kiss… Jeez..she wants to leave or not? And Artemis becomes ’something’ is actually amusing.. Agreed with yEN there on no Zero at sight sheesh..
oh and i think the vampire war is the one with Rido vs Kaname as Rido has awakened and so Rido would want to ‘eat’ Yuki so Kaname can’t let that happen and oh, somebody told me that’s where Zero comes in cuz Kaname can’t ‘kill’ Rido as he’s the one who sired him? or will that be the HM?…oh i give up
My feelings are completely different. The anime is great. The manga is even better. Both are wonderfully intense. Love Kaname. Love the new Yuuki. She stands up to the super-vampire she loves. Her lover and her guardian go out against the evil master, while she gains strength to defend herself in the midst of impossible danger. Unfortunately the translation is fairly impenetrable, as you say. I really want to see the Japanese.
hashi> of course! you and I have the exact opposite tastes!
So everything I hate you love! LOl but yea in regards to translations I think that’s contributing to the fact that I have no idea what the hell is going on but I don’t like the manga enough to spend money on the tankoubons :/
Actually, I didn’t like the part when we find out the Yuuki was really a vampire. They should have just made Yuuki a vampire from the beginning then maybe I would not be hating this.
I was really hoping for a YuukixZero relationship. It is like they destoryed all the relationship building that was part of the earlier part of the manga. It sort of irritated me. And the little vampire war came out of nowhere.
I just read this last nite so I got a bit of pressure built up. Just had to rant a bit there.
Reading the manga totally ruined the anime for me. After all I prefer anime over manga.
Btw, not sure if is just my end but the edit comment thing didn’t seem to load the comment text.
Yeah it’s pretty confusing to me too, at this point.
). Go Kaname!
A) There’s some kind of war between vampires or whatever, which I understand nothing about. B) I don’t even care about the war, I want to see which guy Yuki ends up with.
And I also don’t understand who is the enemy, who is against Kaname, when is Zero gonna stop being an emo kid, etc.
Oh! And I still defend Kaname! He’s trying to get Yuki away from the enemy who wants to kill her, as the last Kuran survivor (well, apparently Kaname is Yuki’s ancestor… in the body of a younger person
The manga cracked me up so badly I just couldn’t bring myself to watch the anime. Also, I never had a clue what was going on in the manga, which was half of the reason why I dropped it. (OK, more like 1/3. 2/3rds was because of how much blood ‘n’ tears everybody had dribbling out of them at every dramatic revelation and/or pee break.)
Although I have no idea whats going on and I spend most of my time yelling at my screen (whether watching the anime or reading the manga) “WTF Kaname you b*stard, Yuuki you cow!”, I still really love it. I think I only like it for Zero
and the other vampires like Aidou and Kain…
Yeah, I really have no idea what’s going on now. I only understand that Zero took his other half from Ichiru and looks like he’s turning into a werewolf. Hm, cliche- starting to sound like other stories.
But the other characters I didn’t give a damn and was like: “Oh, they’re side characters, so I don’t really care what’s going on with them.”
It seems like alot of stuff is happening at the same time, so most of the time I’m wtfed and skip reading half of it.
I still like Zero, although he’s emo, he’s not complaining too much, so I dunno why you call him a whiny bitch.
but whatever, this manga isn’t making much sense anyway.
I don’t really dislike Kaname anymore, Yuuki is starting to balance the equation.
There’s too much happening, ZeroYuuki is by far out of the picture and that sucks, but I am suddenly not caring for that ’cause Yuuki is starting to become super vampire and it’s a bit boring. I mean, I really cared for ZeroYuuki but now I just want everything to get resolved. -yet KanameYuuki will just ruin it for me haha-.
While I support IchijouShiki, I think Shiki’s link with Rima was so sweet.
The scanlation I read said “it’ll be okay, onii-san”, which was quite
but whatever.
This is what happens when people that can draw pretty bishies but can’t write make manga. All of Hino Matsuri series have left me going, “Pretty art, but … WTF?”
I think I’m giving away all the VK manga I bought if Yuuki doesn’t end up with Zero. Even though it’s an obvious KanamexYuuki (this pairing has been frequently featured as chapter covers, clearly the author cannot make it any more clearer ) I still have hope for ZeKi (I mean I went through the same anguish with Kikyou-InuYasha-Kagome). Otherwise, I’ll burn it if Zero dies.
LOL I’m just glad I never bought it and only read scans…geez this is starting to be as bad as shinshi doumei cross
i’ve given up on the manga around the time she turned evil. i’m getting more and more irritated by all the characters… i’m not sure why but i think the anime had something to do with it. when i read manga, i read it by the chapter as it come out so the things that are annoying about the characters don’t bother me. but when the anime was released, the emo-ness of zero, the creepiness of kaname and the over-naivete of yuuki became all too clear for me and i just got annoyed.
personally i prefers the manga but the heck it is damn confusing… so everytime i read finish the chapter, i read its summary…its much ezier
oh my god Hinano you are absolutely right. this is going to the same direction as shinshi doumei cross.
hell while i was reading the manga, i was like… f*cked Yuuki stop being such a total “hoe”… what the hell is going on?!!!
and Kaname? ACK!!!
…
Actually i personally though Yuuki has become ’stronger’ in this chapter.
She knows that she wants to protect the acedamy and she encourages Kaname to do what he must go and comforts him.
Kaname comes off as slightly weaker here perhaps he is possessive due to losing his parents that he doesn’t want t oloose yuuki as well. I think it’s perfectly normal (his behaviour)
Are you going to willingly let your love to fight? Especially when you fear losing them? Its selfish yes, but i think it’s totally understandable behaviour.
I quite like the big cast currently as the ‘Night class’ students have had their personalities developed to a certain extent though i am quite frightened of having to try and recognise a load of other characters :p
I wonder if this is the end calling us? The end of this chapter appeared to me like the beginning of a climax XD
The plot just…stopped making sense about ten chapters ago. Hino keeps pooping on Zero, and Zero is the only reason I keep with it at all. No Zero in this chap made me cranky
The only satisfactory ending for me would be if Zero goes bonkers and KILLS EVERYONE
That’d save the whole thing for me. *hugs Zero*
i really cant help but think. yuuki you bitchface two-timing slutty whore. kaname you horny pedo bear bitchface #2. zero. you are a emo … slut T_T, kinda. me and my friends had an argument about which one was worse storyline and plot wise to the point that it was total mindfck , tsubasa chronicles or vampire knight.
I stopped watching the anime at 6 or something.
I thought Yuki was okay in the beginning but now I hope Zero kicks her off a cliff with Kaname, because besides being an emohead, he’s still alright to me. I hang out with people like him, so I guess it’s biased. x3
Much agreeed i thought i was the only one who thought this way….but hey im happy for the KanamexYuuki part even if i didntt get anything eles…
Seriously, I gave up on VK a LONG time ago when it ceased to make any sense, rambled on itself and glorified the stupid vampire, bishounen, and “intrigue” when I really saw ABSOLUTELY NOTHING happening. And yeah, Yuuki, Kaname, and Zero all really are twisted, unrealistic to the point of impossibility and stupidity and WTH?. And because having read shoujos like this 10x times, I knew Yuuki, Kaname, and Zero were NOT going to get any better, especially Yuuki, who’d never grow a backbone or DO anything except be fought at by two guys and make things worse. And I also knew the mangaka would glorify every moment the 2 bishounens came into play and make about a 100 glorious beauty shots for fangirls fanservice (like…up there).
But hey, the art’s pretty. BUT… it’s super extravagant (which is okay when done right) but mopes around in its gothic “mood” and takes itself too seriously without it helping the story and splashes on screentones galore until my head aches. Ugh! I’m done with this mangaka. Call me back when she does something that is silly and beautified guilty pleasure (which she always does) but KNOWS is silly, like Merupuri.
Oh shit I really liked Merupuri! I totally didn’t realize that she was the same mangaka who did that one!!!
Wow go figs, I guess she CAN have good manga but VK isnt one of her greatest works ^^;
AHHH. This chapter pissed me off. I am so mad at Yuuki for becoming a freaking vampire… and then oh yay INCEST!!! I support ZeroYuuki, because they were friends and their relationship started to seem more than that, but it like just crashed when Kaname decided to go for a child abduction on her. If Yuuki doesn’t end up with Zero I’m flushing my VN manga down the toilet. (Well… maybe not that far but you know)
This plot stopped making sense chapters ago.. and no Zero in this one made it boring. He’s the only reason I keep reading this manga -clings to Zero-
I’m so incredibly confused!
I thought I was the only one who was like Who the hell is that? is he important now? I kinda like Kaname before but now it’s like EWW INCEST!
I was more for zeroYuuki anyway. and why the hell did she start to call him oniisama again after she kissed him? and what is with the no zero in this chapter? and one more question Does a lot of pureblood vampire blood turn you into a werewolf? seriously WTF is going on?!!?!?
NOO! DON’T GIVE UP YET!!
This manga is actually great if only people take time to analyze it further.
aahh, don’t you get it?
Kaname can appear possessive, yes, but think of how he had to be separated from her all these years, lost his family who were the only people he knows, and had to be stuck with Ichiou from the Council who only wants to use him because he’s a pureblood? Plus, most people just follow him because he’s a pureblood. Yuuki is the only one who truly loves him for who he is, his only “family” - the only one he has a bond with, and the “only one who gives him warmth.”
and, I think that it’s good that he started out with flaws in this manga (because other than his manipulation/possessiveness, he’s pretty much perfect)
Yuuki is the only person that brings out his flaws. Everything that Kaname had done so far is for Yuuki. She’s his reason for living. She is the only one who makes him act more human. And see those bracelets/anklets on the cover? I think those are actually chains since the text means “I am not the one who’s chained”. I think it’s Yuuki speaking this. See how Kaname is the one clinging to Yuuki in the cover, whereas in the previous covers it’s Yuuki who’s holding on to Kaname.
This means that they stimulate each other, bringing out each other’s personality - they GROW together physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Notice how Yuuki was the type of annoying shoujo female lead at first, but after Kaname awakened her, she changed into a kickass female who’s more decisive and takes more action. Like how she wanted to stay in the Academy so she can fight for herself. I’m excited to find out what she’s gonna do now that her weapon changed to a scythe.
The reason for the kiss wasn’t because she’s a pansy who can’t say no to a bishie. -_- It wasn’t exactly a romantic kiss, imo. It was more reassuring and persuading. She’s not being a doll for Kaname anymore. She can stand for herself and even persuade Kaname.
Isn’t it refreshing to see a shoujo series where characters evolve together? ^_^
Really sorry. I just went back to this page and realized that I blabbed on without answering the rest of your questions.
okay. So first of all, this whole story started out with Rido (Kaname and Yuuki’s uncle) “killing” the original Kaname’s soul, and replacing it with the Kuran ancestor (or the original vampire?). This is because he wants the “thickest blood of a Kuran”. The further you go down the vampire ancestral line, the stronger the vampire powers are. Basically, Rido just wants to be more powerful.
Since Rido was the one who revived the current Kaname’s soul, Kaname is bound to him, and he is Kaname’s master. Therefore, Kaname cannot kill him.
Last time, after Rido killed Kaname’s father, Kaname only cut Rido up to a thousand pieces but couldn’t deliver the finishing blow because he’s Rido’s “slave”. Now, Rido is revived and the people he possess has two different eye colours (like the little boy who was “lost”, and now Shiki, his son. so Shiki is a half-blood and Kaname’s and Yuuki’s cousin.) The different eye colours is only a symbol that he cannot be trusted.
Yuuki was the daughter that Haruka and Juuri Kuran hid. They call her the “Kuran Princess”, and Haruka and Juuri hid her from Rido because they don’t want Rido to take another child of theirs like they did to the original Kaname. Since Rido wants her, I suppose she has some special powers as well.
This war, basically, is started by Rido, who allied with the Senior Council of Vampires (also called the Senate) and the head of the Vampire Hunters Society. This war is basically about pacifism (human and vampire coexistence). Rido and the Council are against this because they want to keep the current positions of power that they have now, and Rido wants to dominate.
On the other side, we have Chairman Cross, Kaname, and the Night Class, who are for pacifism. See, this is why I don’t get why people is saying that Kaname is evil when he is really trying to achieve a peaceful human and vampire coexistence, and risking everything he has. It’s also for Yuuki’s sake because Rido wants her. Plus, he’s not even using his pureblood powers to persuade them. (oh yeah, notice that in this chapter he says “I CAN take you by force” not “I WILL”. I don’t think he was planning on using powers on Yuuki.)
Chairman Cross started the school for pacifism, but it’s the Kuran household who originally brought this idea.
As you can see, Rido is a pureblood and very powerful. Plus, he has the strongest allies by his side. It’s like they can control the whole vampire society. Naturally, Kaname is the strongest fighter on the other side, but him alone is weak since he can’t even finish off Rido since he has become his slave. He was only able to move freely all these years because Rido was “asleep”. (I must say, he was able to manipulate very well despite the situation. Zero couldn’t even harm Shizuka to such an extent when he was her slave. But Kaname can resist more and do so much more damage.)
Anyway, this is why he needs Zero. In the end of a recent chapter, he says that he needs Zero to be the “king” (as in the chess game) who eliminates everyone. Zero needs to be the one to deliver the finishing blow. Zero can do this because he’s from a family of strong vampire hunters, and somewhere in his family line his ancestor ate a (pureblood?) vampire to have the ability to kill vampires.
Then he turned to a vampire, and sucked off the blood of Yuuki and Kaname, who are pureblood vampires. Plus, Kaname has drunken the blood of Shizuka. Then he drank the blood of his twin brother, Ichiru, gaining more strength as a vampire hunter because of the legend. Ichiru also drank the blood of Shizuka. So, he should be free of the master/slave bond and will never turn into Level E. So now, Zero is probably the most powerful vampire hunter in history who’s also a vampire. Can’t wait to see what he does in the next chapters.
ah, I wonder if Zero still hates vampires? if he does, he’d be opposed to pacifism. He has been all whiny throughout the whole manga and opposing Chairman and being rude to him, which is annoying because he took care of him and treated him as his own son! but all he could think of was killing Shizuka then killing himself, then wallowing in self pity because “he has become the creature he hates most” [how cliche] instead of using his powers to help Yuuki (but now he’s forced to use them, haha.) Instead, he kept on pushing Yuuki to Kaname as if he doesn’t deserve her affection or something. I get how all these mindless hormonal teenagers like that, but I just find it annoying and overdone.
So, that’s the gist of it. Sorry for the uber long post! ^_^: but I didn’t know how to explain without going through all of it.
You’d understand it even better if you reread the chapters. Really, VK has a lot of potential. The reason it’s popular is because of its themes and art but it shouldn’t be just that. VK is the type of manga that needs some analysis for you to fully appreciate it.
I’d probably understand it better if the people who scanlated it earlier on actually knew Japanese and didn’t translate a bunch of bullshit on a BBQ stick. But yea I don’t feel liek purchasing the Japanese manga, trying to cut down and all oh well.
Although I like the Manga (cuz I think Kaname is a hottie
) I totally get where your coming from. Hino keeps bring in Secrets and Mysteries. When I’m still stuck on secret #1.
Then I go ask other people in forums “What the hell is going on?” And they don’t know what they’re talking about. I think we all are reading messed up translations.
I mean I’ve read about 10 different scans. All of them were completely different.
So now I’m even more confused.
it was taking forever for them to upload new vampy knight chapters and when they finally get 42 I was so lost at first ( wihtout knowing i skipped 1 chapter)
I rly didn’t expect so much to happen in what 40 pgs? Took me a couple minutes to figure out that they smexy guy with the long hair was the headmaster
, I luff yuki’s new scythe thing and it’s kinda weird that all of the sudden zero has thorns coming out of his arms from drinking his brothers blood ._.
i still dont get the whole deal with rido and their parents and blah blah blah and all that other crap…its reached that stage where the fighting just doenst stop and it gets freaking complicated
this manga started good..but now its like so…dam confusing!!
whats!! going on!! ….but any way
peace
I feel like i dont even know how to read anymore…cuz i cant understand the freaking story!! and i wanted more yukiXzero moments!
