Zettai Kareshi - 11 (Finale)

Published by Hinano at 7:09 pm under Zettai Kareshi

WELL SHIT I CRIED ANYWAY.   But not for you Riko, you fucking whore, you deserve to cry for treating Night like trash for 9 and a half episodes!

Unlike some people who enjoyed this drama, I know me and a few readers thought the whole thing was fulla crap. And to make up for it? They decided to basically run with the same way the manga ended. (Well almost the same way.) Which was basically to make Night cease operation and then “die” because his memory chip basically fried from all the overheating.

Oh wait. If Riko had actually shown him affection earlier this would never have happened! In case you didn’t read the manga I will explain. After Night’s fight with the other robot (who was there for like 1 episode) he got injured REALLY badly. And basically it went downhill from there and that was the reason he shut down. Here in this drama, he died because Riko couldn’t make up her fucking mind and his emotions went higher than his system could handle, aka his brain fried (literally).

So how the hell am I supposed to enjoy this drama and be sad for Riko, when the whole fucking reason that he broke was because of her?? For 9 and a half weeks she yells at him, she never said I love you ONCE to him, NOT EVEN IN THE LAST FUCKING EPISODE, and well the Riko in the manga got a lot more action than drama Riko…which is said considering the manga one is like 10 years younger.

God right before and after Night died I couldn’t stop crying. I was crying for the fact that the poor abused and neglected robot dies and still wishes happiness for that stupid bitch. OH and guess what? In 3 weeks, she’s totally fine. She keeps his “chip” with her but yea I doubt she’ll be thinking about it when she’s banging Soushi in France. At least manga Riko like got a year between seeing Soushi and getting with him. This chika never got to “be alone”, she goes on the rebound ASAP *snap snap*.

I hope no Japanese girls take her as an example. God what a fucking bitch. If she acted like that in one of my otome games, she woulda been raped 3 times outside in the rain. All in all, I loved Night, I loved some of the side cast, hell even Soushi’s brother and Riko’s annoying land lady redeemed themselves near the end. Riko? Yea go to hell you bitch, may there never be a main female lead like you in a drama ever again.

I love the manga, it almost made me cry (i don’t remember if i cried, but if no, it was almost) and i was thinking in watching the drama, but i guess i will pass. I tried to see the first episode, and it was so diferent. Riko here, is so, but so diferent  I think i will just stay with the manga in my image, since it was good, i don’t wanna ruin it, while watching the drama

:( Not much I can say.

I was considering the manga, but I think I’ll pass if it didn’t end much better than this. Even a year of grieving wouldn’t make up for the lack of decency of the just say 10 eps.

    Kill the screenplay writer.

  4. Dorian Cornelius Jasperon 25 Jun 2008 at 9:20 pm

    Holy mother of Adaptation Decay!

Did the writer even *read* the comic? Such a change couldn’t originate solely from upping the age range of the characters alone. Guess this counts as a resounding “Didn’t care” on the part of the adaptation.

I guess I’m glad I didn’t watch the drama then. I actually did like the manga despite the questionable ending (and no what I thought questionable isn’t what you think  ). I just thought it kind ironic how riko chose to be with an artificial representation of the perfect guy rather than the real thing (and one that would totally dote on her to boot), but I couldn’t exactly blame her for it since Knight was hot and Soushi was too little too late. But damn, drama Riko just sounds like a user and a whore it kind makes the fact that Knight loved her till the end pathetic, but it’s not like he could help it since he was programed that way. The whole end message is kind of depressing “Purchase some artificial guy who’d walk on water for you to make a real guy jealous then once you’ve got the real guy hooked confused the artificial guys circuits to hell until his brain fries so you can live in lovey-dovey bliss with the real guy never to think of the one guy who loved you unconditionally again,” wow

WELL SHIT I CRIED ANYWAY.   But not for you Riko

I don’t think someone is stupid enough to cry for that fucking bitch.
Gawd, not even in the last episode can she redeem herself. He is shutting down and she still makes him sleep in the bathroom, at least make if sleep on the floor you bitch.
Tch, the only thing I enjoyed from this bloody train wreck was Night, and like you, he was the only reason I cried like a baby. Especially when he says “I love you” to sleeping Riko, even though she doesn’t deserve him, before he shuts down…
I’ve never hated someone so much, and I started hating her even more after getting over Night so fast, this just goes to show you that she never cared about Night and she was only using him to fill her pathetic life, that damned bitch.

BTW, sorry for the bad words but I’m really, really pissed off.

  7. akonon 25 Jun 2008 at 10:52 pm

It finally came to an ennnnd….

I didn’t watch the last few episodes and quite frankly, I don’ think I will. Even though I didn’t read the manga, the drama itself couldn’t hold my attention and I found myself bored most of the time.

Sigh….and here I was hoping for a good drama season. I didn’t run across ANY thing.

  8. Hinanoon 25 Jun 2008 at 11:29 pm

Scheris> aint no thang, the fangirl rage feeling is mutual

akon> don’t bother haha….youll only get pissed off at how idiotic the main female is

kakoiishi> I liked the manga too, that’s why this drama is an abomination. hopefully one day they’ll make a good anime adaptation like with Itazura na Kiss

  9. Pixie Duston 26 Jun 2008 at 12:42 pm

“If she acted like that in one of my otome games, she woulda been raped 3 times outside in the rain. ” You got that right.

  10. anneon 26 Jun 2008 at 2:09 pm

In the manga I liked Riko/Night, but it was understood that Soushi would be there for her in the end because he cared anyway despite the fact that Riko loved Night. This just makes me rage because poor Night gets no happiness, and just dies and she goes off fucking Soushi right after. The manga was sad because Night’s emotions did lead to him shutting down (and the fight), but at least Riko fucking gave a shit about him. The manga made me baww, but this just makes me rage. Poor Night.

I really hope for a true anime adaptation because the story is really quite touching.

  11. kiwigrl89on 26 Jun 2008 at 8:18 pm

I am so SO glad I didn’t finish watching this! They really should make an anime that actually follows the plot of the manga.

  12. biankitaon 26 Jun 2008 at 9:33 pm

i dropped this at episode 6 because it was getting too all the same (in terms of the dynamics of riiko’s relationship with night). i guess it never got any better. :(

  13. khronuson 27 Jun 2008 at 1:04 am

I guess I’m in the minority. I didn’t really like the ending in the manga either. I was fine with Riko making a choice, I just didn’t like that she got the ‘best of both worlds’. I wanted to see her live with the results of her choice but no, instead she got Night and then Night shut down and she got Soushi to back to make everything better. I’d wanted Soushi to find a nice girl in Spain who actually was happy with a real person for a lover.

  14. Dorian Cornelius Jasperon 27 Jun 2008 at 4:04 am

    Khronus:

Well at least she didn’t get both *at the same time.*

  15. castraaon 27 Jun 2008 at 7:57 am

omgosh!! can’t help that im a little behind everyone else that has replied..i watched the whole drama in like 1day except episode 11 which i have yet to see. I don’t want to see it now, it would just be another drama with another sad ending for the supposed hero. The drama was a great adaptation in more opinion, this may be because i haven’t read the manga yet. i will be taking a look at that. felt sad for Night.

  16. confusedon 27 Jun 2008 at 3:38 pm

    @Castraa.
Its nice that you liked the drama but you can’t judge whether something is a great adaptation if you have not read or watched the thing that it is adapted from.

  17. um...on 27 Jun 2008 at 9:21 pm

You can’t blame her for everything… She doesn’t know that Night has feelings of his own, she thinks that he is an electric appliance. She never really finds out/understands. That’s why she regards the feelings of real people more than Night’s. Think about it, would you treat your computer the same way you treat a real person?

  18. Di Gi Kazuneon 28 Jun 2008 at 12:06 am

    Machines have feelings too!

  19. Hion 28 Jun 2008 at 6:00 am

This is how me and girlfriend is.. I am very confused, what should I do…

  20. Shayaon 28 Jun 2008 at 6:54 pm

Okay, Okay…Riiko should have died instead of Night. I can not get over how horrible she treated him for so long, and then presto chango! she has all these tender mushy feelings for him now that he’s dying. Talk about a wishy washy tramp. GOSH. This really can’t even be called an adaption, its more like an Alternate Universe fan fic. Then again, a real fan of the manga would have never written this atrocity.

I watched this for Mizushima Hiro, I am completely obsessed with him right now, and I thought he did a good job with his part…his part being the only one that almost, almost stayed true to the manga. I was expecting so much more from this, and after seeing how much they diverted from the original story, I think its a rip to use the manga’s ending…

For Riiko to decide that she can’t go to Paris because she realizes she needs Night, and then turn around and run off into the sunset with Soshi three weeks after Night is dead and gone, is a complete and total whore move.

Riiko doesn’t deserve either of them. Riiko is the type of chick who deserves to be stabbed in the back by females like Mika. I would too. Indecisive whore. I hate her. UGH. How I hate her.

  21. fishballon 01 Jul 2008 at 6:07 am

Sigh….I watched the drama and read the manga. Doesn’t anyone like Namikiri? T_T As for the drama, he and Naito were the people I felt sorry for. Somehow the dynamics between Riiko and Soushi just left me cold, and naturally Riiko makes me want to stab her guts out with a fork.

I felt bad for Namikiri, wanting to protect his creation, doing maintenance work all the time like a parent taking care of a child, being one of the few who have realised Naito’s eventually becoming self-aware, debating over our right to take Naito’s feelings away. Besides, he was one of the few, actually interesting people in the drama….

  22. janeton 01 Jul 2008 at 7:56 am

OH MY FREAKIN GOODNESS! dat landlady rly gets on my nerves! shez so annoyingg!!

  23. nekonarion 01 Jul 2008 at 6:47 pm

Doesn’t anyone feel bad for Soshi? He keeps getting shunned by Riiko even when he is giving her all this support and protecting her job. And he does this all while thinking that Riiko has a boyfriend. And then he finds out it’s just a robot! Poor guy…

And no, Riiko probably doesn’t deserve two, beautiful, devoted guys, but she’s not a bitch. She never even gets angry at Mika after all the shit she gave her.

    Oh, and Namikiri is awesome.

  24. Zweion 02 Jul 2008 at 2:57 pm

RAWR!!! No offense to anyone religious here but Night is kind of like one of those hero where they sacrifice themselves for nothing good in the end. Yes, Riiko is a betch, yes, I want to stab her in the eye and urinate on her toothbrush but I think it’s a more preferable ending than something else… it’s just how they reached that point was icky and the wishywashy reverse-harem tramp is worse than other harem master.

  25. BA-link-keion 02 Jul 2008 at 5:07 pm

ahhh! i have never been a fan of this overly stupid girl “heroine” named Riiko (whiny bitch as i call her) and she really doesn’t deserve any of the guys there. i hate her in the manga and i loathe her in this drama!

the way she acts is a total insult to all females in the world!

no wonder Mika hates her!

i just feel sad for the guys who got involved with her may it be a robot or a human! Night and Soshi deserves way better than this “thing”

  26. Eb0nI and Sisterson 06 Jul 2008 at 12:21 pm

Me and my sisters read the manga then only watched the first 3 episodes of the drama then skipped to the end.
Hated what we saw but the final… was better… ish.
Manga ending wasn’t fabulous, SHE WENT TO GET ICE CREAM
but in this it explained how he felt more - which is more than what it did in the manga. Didn’t like how it was just 3 weeks, but overall it was a better ending. If u chopped out the bad bits, like how she made him sleep on the toilet and never said I heart u ect… I agree with everyone above (ish) Riiko was meaner in the drama, but she did make a scarf and yer… She’s just not ready for love…
Even though there’s the age changes  I’m not sure if it made it better or worse…
 U know what? if they made an anime it would be better if they did it exactly like the manga but had the drama ending. Coz its a little sweeter…
Namikiri should have been a cosplayer!!!
    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  27. Ameraon 18 Jul 2008 at 6:04 pm

Well, I honestly prefer the drama. It’s much more realistic. She didn’t really treat him like crap, she just assumed that since he was a robot, he didn’t REALLY feel anything for her, which is honestly what anyone in her situation would have done. Yes, Night was always there for her, but that’s because he was programmed to be. He was more like a best friend/companion to her than a boyfriend, and it’s not just Riiko’s neglect of his emotions that sent him into overheating. It IS the fight with 02 that first brought it on; his jealousy just didn’t help the situation. And, also, the reason that Riiko never told Night that she loved him is because, hello!, this is a JAPANESE drama. Japanese people don’t throw around those three words as easily as Americans…

  28. Ameraon 18 Jul 2008 at 6:08 pm

Also, I can’t help but to sympathize more with Soushi. While Night’s feelings may have developed into something close to human emotion toward the end, you must admit that at first it was ALL programming while Soushi’s feelings were human right from the start.

The poor guy pretty much gave up everything for Riiko, and sacrificed himself for her, and I hate how she never really reciprocates. That’s the one thing about the drama I don’t like… Riiko doesn’t treat Soushi the way he really deserves, and when he finally thinks he has a chance, she hurts him all the more. But I can’t utterly blame Riiko either. She’s a kind, selfless type of girl who’s done nothing but look for love and a place in the world, and then she gets thrown into chaos like this. Riiko is much better, and realistic, in the drama, though I still wish she had been kinder to Soushi.

    Then again, I’m just a SoushixRiiko shipper… ^_^
