Naruto -Shippuuden- 228-229

So this week actually kept on pretty well with the story other than the keyword fillers, and the filler stating the compact between Sand & Leaf. Naruto bitching about the mission actually was in the manga. In the battle of the puppet masters, Sasori finally destroyed all of Kankuro’s puppets and then stabbed him with his scorpion tail…which had poison at the end of it. Needless to say Kankuro was knocked out, but at least a bunch of Sand-nins found him and brought him to the nearest infirmary. Unfortunately everyone over there sucks so they’ll have to wait till Sakura gets there to heal his wounds.

I’m really glad the episode actually followed things pretty close to the manga this week. The only difference I noticed here is how Jiraiya said “Naruto don’t use that power” while in the manga he said “don’t use that Jutsu”. I recall on the Naruto forums people made like 50 threads on what “THAT JUTSU” is. (K4 anyone?) The scene between Naruto and the rest jumping through the forest was great. They actually even improved it by showing a scene of every adult getting disgusted at little Naruto while little Sakura looked from afar. (Thanks Pierrot! XD) So yea now we know that Sakura and Temari both officially know that Naruto is the same as Gaara and is also a “human sacrifice”.

Anyway while Kankuro is still poisoned he manages to tell Baki about “Sasori of the Red Sand” (I think that’s correct?) Baki then goes to see the old fart siblings. I don’t know the guy’s name but the girl’s name is Chiyo. Anyway Baki says he needs their help and of course they tell them to take care of their “own problems in their own generation” but then Baki tells her that her that her “grandson” is in Akatsuki. Well that changes everything and Chiyo is now gonna go kick some ass. (Can you tell I’m all pumped for the Chiyo x Sakura tag team battle or what?)

    Yea this was actually a good episode rather than “let’s watch them fight for 3 weeks!”

    I preferred the pacing of these 2 episodes much more than any other of the Shippuden series. I hope they can keep it up, but I’m still fearful that the upcoming “showcase fights” will be handled much like Gaara’s earlier.

    I expected the voice to be different for the old woman. I was expecting something more aged and wise, with a little gruff to it. She sounded more like a geriatric Sailor Moon to me. But all in all I have no real complaints about this episode at all.

    I expected Kankuro to have white or blond hair. In the manga it was unshaded so I assumed it would follow those lines. Was wrong I guess; but I know one thing: He looks better with that face paint on.
    Plus I thought he’d be chubbier. Guess his clothes are just “poofy.”

    @Hinano: Are you not a Bleach fan? Most Naruto fans tend to watch/read Bleach as well. And that Benny Hill post: BRILLIANCE.

    ^.^ just finished watching it the fight between Kankuro and Sasori was WAY overextended for my taste it was like half of the first ep

    The scene where Naruto was telling the other three he had Kyu inside of him was nicely done and the tear hitting Temari in the face was a nice added effect

    On the same i always wondered why Sakura in the manga was hardly surprised when Naruto was making his confession this ep answers that

    I found the animated Chiyo ba chan creepy O_O;;;

    i wonder how many weeks before that comes out ^_^

    Sabrina> LOL! Geriatric sailormoon! :lol: I thought he looks better without the face paint XD. Nah I’m not a Bleach fan, never bothered jumping on that bandwagon because the story looked like something I’ve seen before in some other anime from the 90s.

    i loved episodes so much
    i have no proplem if they put filler in every thing but not the fights
    because fights are naruto strongest point

    lol I liked the part when Chiyo pretends like she died I freaked out but then when I saw she was joking I just laughed.
