2 Years of Fangirl Rage.

And so on Monday June 23rd, Ex-Fansubber Hitorigoto hits its 2 year anniversary. I’m posting today though because there’s nothing else going on anime wise.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to handle this post but I figured everyone loves stats and all that jazz so I may as well roll with it. I also liked Totali’s idea of doing a timeline so I’m going to shamelessly steal it.
**************

So let’s start with the epic stats.
Most Commented Post Ever. Funny enough it was posted recently and I posted it during one of my work days without any prior deep preparation or thought. This post comes in second, unfortunately I had to close comments because it turned into a troll fest.
Most Viewed Post. In actuality the “top” page would be the main site when you load it and others above it are “category” pages but the top most “actual post” would be that one. Shugo Chara seems to have some crazy cult following or something. That or google just loves my blog posts on it.
Most searched keyword: While the top 3 keywords are ex-fansubber, ex fansubber and hinano, I don’t really count those since that’s pretty obvious. So with those out of the way my actual top keyword is “lovely complex”. Surprising but not really considering the next 2 are Kamichama Karin and Shugo Chara. Sigh.
Most Referring Site: Funny enough Omni continues to be my biggest referral. Sorry Anime Nano you’re #2 but only by about 1000 hits.
************
And now for some blog metrics stats:
I’m at 1177 posts (78 if you include this one.) You guys have contributed to the 13,026 comments that I have. Fellow bloggers have contributed 259 trackbacks.
**************

And now let’s move on to my attempted timeline here. I’ll try to remember best I can on the epic happenings of that month.
June 2007: I reached my 1 year anniversary and there was a great blogging year ahead. At the time I was in midst of watching Kamichama Karin and flaming its poor animation every week. Also still watching Nagasarete Airantou but that was to be dropped the following month. All my spring dramas had come to an end.
July 2007: With the summer season starting it was time for such classic hits as Umisho, Nanatsuiro Drops, Higurashi II, School Days, Mushiuta and Zero no Tsukaima II. I dropped Hayate no Gotoku cause it was too damn long, and picked up my favorite drama - Yama Onna Kabe Onna. It’s around this time that I started doing more Manga Review posts. I also pretty much quit making AMVs due to Vista compatibility problems. This was also the beginning of my weeabooing in New York posts. So all in all July was a pretty big month.
August 2007: I was busy playing Ragnarok Online 2 and getting ready for the JRO2 open beta. I begged Sugisaki Yukiru to finish DNAngel (and my wish came true.) The Naruto manga began it’s gradual shift towards the ending and giving us hints that an important sannin would die. I also began a new section called “Rants & Raves” when some bitch on livejournal pissed me off with her bullshit about how anime characters should look like “real women”. That section made me more popular for some reason.
I was also experiencing an early stage of blogger burnout where I no longer wanted to write summary posts and so my 1 screenshot + quick impression blogging style was born.
September 2007: Japanese ROII beta ended and so I decided to join yet another online game. Most summer shows were coming to an end as well. Also NICE BOAT swept the internet by storm. I also signed up on NicoNico Douga (and now I don’t have that limited time account thing yay).
October 2007: Picked up 2 fall dramas. My rant & rave posts about Japan continued. Fall season had started with such classic hits as Nougami Neuro, Genshiken II, Night Wizard & Clannad. I also began the whole watching my anime on Nico Nico because it was easier and faster. I also hit 9000 comments. Also shit hit the fan in Shugo Chara which is what probably increased my Shugo Chara hit count.
November 2007: I had dropped E.F. ~A tale of bullcrap~ and got flamed for it by the same people who tried to explain me that Sucky Star is a work of genius. I had to then explain that I have a rabid hatred for all that is SHAFT. Also my birthday passed making me older and more bitter. JP and I couldn’t stand our roach and mouse infested apartment so we broke our lease and moved. I also began ranting about art thieves on DA because they seemed to have increase their attack power.
December 2007: Happy Holidays! Began work on my Haruhi doujinshi for Anime Boston. A lot of fall shows had ended and it was around this time that I got into the whole Vocaloid/Hatsune Miku craze. Attended the first year of New York Anime Festival along with DS and cosplayed some Nice Boat costumes. We also got scammed and almost had our IDs stolen by actual nice boat people at the con. (Thankfully they are banned from all NYAF events.)
January 2008: New year! New shows. Oh wait, the winter season sucks. I picked up H2O, My Noble Masters and Persona. Me and Aroduc had something to talk about as I think we were the only ones blogging that goofy show. The Naruto manga turned into “Sasuke” and the Uchiha party van would last us for the next 5 months. Also Gonzo decided to come back and mass release a terrible vampire manga adaptation.
February 2008: I got Paint Tool Sai which was a Japanese paint program and it got me all inspired to draw more. The infamous school days episode that was censored came out uncut on DVD. I started posting videos of my drawing in progress which got flames from Nico Nico but what else is new over there.
Also this was a taste of things to come in April.
March 2008: Went to Anime Boston and had a terrible time. The Genderbending of Suzumiya Haruhiko was a big hit amongst Haruhi fans so I jumped on the bandwagon. I also started watchin CDTV again after a 2 year break. I also got pissed of at Kinokuniya and the lack of care for non mainstream fans. Some winter shows had ended as well as some long fall shows.
April 2008: Ran Ran Ruuuu! Spring season started and I was swept into Soul Eater fever. More specifically Soul x Maka fever.
My Haruhi doujin sold out and all but 1 book was sold for my Naruto doujin. (It’s still available!!
) I also read all of the released Vampire Knight chapters which made me lose the desire to continue with the anime. I also picked up another BL (which I haven’t blogged since 2006) and it made some fangirls angry at first but then everyone lived happily ever after.
May 2008: Itachi finally died. A fansub war was brewing. I joined an All Girls Round Robin which was a bigger hit than I had expected. I picked up Kimi Hannin drama which turned out to big a big fat drag. Began work on a Visual Novel about female anime bloggers using Ren’Py.
June 2008: The girls round robin didn’t please everyone and caused some drama, tension and lost friendships. But it’s ok we’ve all moved on from it now. Anime Next was a crapper just as expected. Firefox 3 came out and I joined Pixiv. All winter and some spring shows are coming to an end. Inuyasha finally ended. Anime Blog Awards released the results and this blog got readers choice in best satire. DNAngel began serialization again just as I prayed. I also joined Manga Bullet. Japan Day was fun except me getting sunburned part. Ex-fansubber Hitorigoto hits 2 years.
*************

Final commentary:
So that was the timeline. There were epic times and epic posts but I’m glad to have talked to everyone who stayed at this blog at a certain period of time. I haven’t kept in touch with certain bloggers like I used to because our interests in anime has changed. I got closer to other bloggers because our interests became similar. And while this was a summary blog at first it seems most people recognize this blog as fangirl rage/satire which is probably why I got that award in reader’s choice.
For those reading since the beginning I thank you for sticking with me for the last 2 years. I’ll try to run this blog as long as my interest in anime is still alive and kicking.
Here’s to another year at Hinano’s Babble about Japanese TV shows! ![]()

Congrats on two years of blogging!
I’ve only been skimming your stuff lately, as the time I’ve had for anime, blogging, and the internets in general lately has gone to hell, but you’ll always be a staple entry in my bookmarks :3
congratz and hope u keep going! ;)!!
Yay, congrats on your blog’s second anniversary!
I think my first visit here was probably when I found your otome game reviews while searching on Google for info on these kind of games… or maybe it was around the time the Nice Boat thing had just started. Haha, well, I don’t really remember but, either way, I’ve liked your blog ever since then and I guess that’s what really matters.
Shirukii> Ain’t no thang, we all get busy
miden> Thanks! Will try
Taiyaki> XD So you were the one who got me all those “otome games” on my google analytics!
If my eyes have managed to read your super-tiny timeline graph correctly, you’re getting on average 2,000 hits per day.
How the heck did you manage that?
And I’m curious what constituted the sudden drop of hits in August 2007. Was it just the Ragnarok Online 2 and the JRO2?
Anywho, congratulation on such an enviable milestone!
OMG a year goes by so fast. Congrats!
I think Usagijen and I actually came up with the timeline thing at the same time (without each other knowing)…I just happened to post mine first. Mwahaha.
And actually, I haven’t been keeping up with many bloggers at all this season. I tried a “go back to my roots” thing with the start of my new year, and I actually found that not being able to interact with everyone is full of fail. Next season might be better with stuff like ZnT3 (lol).
bakaneko> I think that was when our server crapped out and we moved from Nightmare host to Bluehost.
totali> Thanks
haha yea I’ll prolly blog ZnT 3 and call the big boob fairy a whore episode episode
Mazal Tov!
As a long time reader, and well over a year poster, I’m praying you keep it up as long as possible.
Love, Peace, & Hair Grease.
And so goes the ‘terrible twos’, they weren’t that bad, right?
Congratulations! You have been very busy this past year, but I predict the big event of your third year will be the release of your game, which will make you the most legendary blogging fan artist of all time.
Congratulations Hinano~
Funny enough Omni continues to be my biggest referral. Sorry Anime Nano you’re #2 but only by about 1000 hits.
I think Omni is everyone’s top referrer haha, he gets so many hits compared to the rest of us. But for us the AB Antenna edges out over Anime Nano for second direct site referral, at least for the past 30 days. Spending an hour roaming through Analytics is an extremely fun way to pass the time because you find out all sorts of interesting thing like how in the past month 62 people found our blog through searching “lolicon” and 29 through “lolicon rape.”
Me and Aroduc had something to talk about as I think we were the only ones blogging that goofy show.
*cough*
And while this was a summary blog at first it seems most people recognize this blog as fangirl rage/satire which is probably why I got that award in reader’s choice.
To be honest I prefer the discussion of individual episodes/manga chapters than a lot of the rants. I think some of that has to do with the fact that I don’t watch much shoujo, nor do I attend conventions so your rants didn’t particularly resonate with me.
Hope you can keep blogging long into the future because we all enjoy reading it all.
HAPPI ANNIVERSARY NEECHAN!!!!!!!
Congratulations on your 2 Year Blog Anniversary =]
I’m really glad you decided to join the R-R. It gave me a chance to get to know you better as a blogger and a person. I’m grateful for all of the advice and support that you have given me in running the round robin. I probably would have gone crazy from all of the pressures and dorama if it hadn’t been for you and your creative metaphor-manufacturing humor, straight-shooting charisma, and astute calls on how to deal with trolls. Respekt!
Ex-Fansubber Hitorigoto is an epic blog and I’m looking forward to reading more of your satires and fangurl rage.
Congratulations on your anniversary, Hinano! Here’s to another year.
Grats on 2 years, and I can’t believe Itachi’s death got a mention in your milestones, haha!
Congratulations! Keep up the good work~
I really love that you used that old Sailor Moon pic ^_^
Congrats on two years of blogging. i have been liking the blogging so far keep up the GREAT work
Sabrina> eww hair grease
microlm> Weren’t there terrible 3s somewhere too?
DS> Dont think it’ll make me legendary but yea it’ll probably be one of the bigger events
Calawain> *looks at your gravatar icon*
Maybe it’s because he’s the only other raw blogger who was doing that show? XD And it’s good to know someone out there appreciates my summaries rather than my rants lol.
Marmot> ARIGATOU MARMIETAN
itsubun> XD you’re welcome, glad we made it through that.
Blank> THanks
Kabitzin> I couldn’t help it, I had blogged so many Naruto chapters it was like a huge turning point! LOL
Kenny> Thanks
A Day Without Me> Haha it’s the first thing I found on google when I searched “anime party”
shalala> Glad you like it and thanks!
HINANO FOR YAOI FAN GIRL PRESIDENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulaions
Congrats on the 2 years! Although I only became a regular recently, but I love this blog ^___^ Keep up the good work!

CONGRATS ON THE 2 YEARS HINANO!!!
[/claps and throws confetti]
Still love the blog to death (honest and truely. You’re on my favorites!). Keep on trucking…er…blogging!
P.S. I knew that shojo post would win for most comments. That went on for, what, 2 weeks or less?

congratz.
No…it’s TERRIFIC threes.
congrats and happy anniversary…
i really enjoy you blog since last year. i hope you can keep going on!
Congratulations and Happy 2nd Anniversary to Hinano-neesama!!!
Keep up the RAGING and the dictionary-throwing in the months to come.
Congratulations, Hinano-sama!
Looking forward to years of more lulz and rage.
Happy 2nd Anniversary
I wish I had stats like yours
Congrats on 2 years! I’m amazed at the timeline you’ve provided…I’ve been around significantly less and I’m already forgetting earlier stuff.
The hills are alive with the sound of muuuuuusssssssiiiiiiiiccccccc~~~~
‘grats on two years!! *confetti*
timelines are <3
I used to stay away from Ex-Fansub because Hinano’s raeg posts scared me away loolz. The Shugo Chara love was the one that marked the beginning of our friendship XD I haven’t kept in touch with Totali too because I’m not following the shows he’s watching =/
Congrats on two years of blogging and I look forward to reading future controversy-stirring posts and the rest. Also: it seems like you’ll hit 2 million visitors by the fall.
Damnit, you celebrating two years makes me desperately want to hurry up and do a one year anniversary post for my blog
jen> haha oh noes I never knew I had such a terrible effect on you!
everyone else, thank you you for visiting and the congrats!
Congratulations!!!
It was actually a lovely complex search that got me here, the fansubbing group took ages to bring out ep 14/15. Thinking about it this was probably my first experience with the anime blogosphere.
Congratulations!
I love your blog, it always has some of the best posts out there! Can’t wait to read all the posts that will follow in the next year!
I’ve already commented, but I thought I’d go more in-depth with this one, because I’m bored.
You’re blog is one of the best out there. For the main reason you actually express an opinion. Some bloggers are just rehashing what they see with very little of their own personality coming through.
Your blog is brimming with your personality. It’s what drive your appeal, steered by your rapier wit, genuine good heart, and frequent fangirl rage fests.
There is nothing out there quite like this. It makes you unique.
And I was simply making a joke about Red Lobster. Pass that on to your intended.
My attempts at humor can be easily missed.
Sabrina> lol i’ll let him know ;P apparently red lobster or something made him sick though but I’m a-OK
unfortunately some hate that “personality” factor of mine and try to like bring me down and tell me to “not post if I don’t like it” too bad their attempts to stop me are futile
lostty & marmosette> thank you
これからもがんばってくれ~らんらんる~
I suppose everyone loves a honest person, but it does soom when someone is painfully honest that poor dude gets tossed by the side and is never mentioned
Also WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Congrats! Looking forward to more fangirl rage posts. =p
So late for this! Sorry!
Anyway, good for more rage. I am nodding my head all the time with your anger on anime conventions and the recent anime series ^^
keep up the great work!
Hinano we all love your writings!
Congrats on the two years. Bloody hell I can’t even remember if I’m approaching 2 or 3 years, lol.
Drm> Because you have to be a dudette not a dude
Thanks everyone who commented
:)
Hinano> That… can be arranged.
