Persona -Trinity Soul- 25

If you thought the acid trip was over, Persona takes us for one last ride.
The episode began with a depressing trip down memory lane for Shin. It also showed Kanaru’s grave. Megumi went to visit Shin and Akihiko also came by to explain stuff to him. He also concluded that Kanaru had an illusionary family in her apartment but when the illusion broke she sorta began to “break down” and break out of her slave robot state. He also explained to Shin that Ayane’s “whale” spirit is now trying to merge with its original body (the one who sucked up all the Marebito in the other episode). He explains that Shin and the others no longer “need to fight” because Ayane is after Personas and there’s a possibility of the 10 years ago incident to happen all over again. (LOL this sounds like the 3rd impact from the Evangelion movies
)
The “bad guys” or whatever you wanna call them take Ayane’s body back but then chibi Ayane appears and somehow the Ayane body revives itself in a Carrie like fashion. And then in a Carrie like fashion she walks around and kills anything that gets in her way. One of the guys manages to put a tracking device on her though (but gets blasted back 10 feet in return.)
Meanwhile Shin is ronery and sad because since Megumi is taking care of Takurou, he’s really got nobody. Chibi Ayane appeared and said “do not come near my body” (in reference to the walking Carrie zombie.) He goes to the beach and starts to imagine what it would have been like had all of his family been still alive. Yuki and Jun would have been grown up, Ryo and Eiko would end up getting married.
Anyway all shit hits the fan and Akihiko is right on it. In the meantime Chibi Ayane is following Carrie Ayane with a huge whale floating in the sky with feathers everywhere. The next time they show Shin, the only thing left where he was is his water bottle and a shitload of feathers. Also Feather Ryo appears randomly saying “don’t get in the way”. I really have no idea what’s going on but the grand finale is next week! ![]()

Poor Shin. I almost cried when he started to imagine how his things would’ve been like if nothing had happened.
Of course the only bad thing about this wishful thinking of his, is that he wouldn’t have met Kanaru.
On another note, is it just me or did Akihiko look really hot in this episode? o_O
XD I couldn’t tell in regards to Akihiko. I was too busy changing my emotions every few minutes. The episode was basically like:
then
then
then
then
Hehe, that’s true.
I supposed I noticed because I watched it a second time.
I agree… Akihiko does look hot in this episode <3
and I wonder why Ryou told Akihiko don’t get in the way… in the way of what actually?
is it just me or is there a TON like, left unexplained/open??? I feel like the whole Ryo and Eiko thing was a waste, the Marebito was a joke, the group Akihiko belongs to is random/a joke, and Ayane is really too powerful for the anime’s sake/has no connection to the original P3 world.
I was hoping for a bunch of twists to lead back to the game, but evidentially not so far. Like when Akihiko came, I figured there’d be something about the P3 universe included, but not yet, and when Morimoto is exposed as a robot I expected a few Aigis references, and there’s absolutely NO connection to the MC/Nyx/Dark Hour at ALL which is what I was kinda hoping for.
Mirei> I think in the way of Ayane’s little plan of fusing her body together. My guess is while it “looked like Ryo” it was probably just an illusion of him.
Will> I never played Persona 3 so I know nothing about it, but I just treated this anime as “Trinity Soul” (You can just cross off the Persona part out) since it was a pretty much stand alone story.
Personally I’ve enjoyed the ride. It was nice and *different* from most of the standard fare I’ve been watching lately.
I’ll be curious to see how it ends. ^^
Will> The Persona series almost NEVER refer back to their previous installments except through cameos and such. This is really nothing new for the entire Megaten franchise since it’s release in the 80’s. Be thankful we got a returning character that’s part of the plot, they didn’t even have to give us that much.
So yeah, I’m a little late, but TS dropped of my radar for a little while there. Well, more like I forgot it existed. Whoops.
But yeah, after watching this ep subless, with very little understanding of Japanese, the only thing I could really get out of it was “Shin is (understandably) depressed” and “Ayane = the survivability of a cockroach”. Oh, and that Shin’s life would be awesome if this wasn’t a Persona series. ):
Lack of Kanaru is saddening, as her grave-shot last ep was. I’m glad I’ve only gotta last one more ep without her. XD
(Sidenote: AT? The AT? Do you exist in EVERY psychobable fandom? I’d be Ravaan from dothackers, if I’d been on there in the past 2 months. ._.)
