Despite what it may seem, this is actually an underground parking garage.

Well it’s that time again where I ran about how much I hate conventions. I’m solely swearing that this is my last anime next ever and if I dare to come here again, it better be because the entire cast of Soul Eater seiyuus is present or something - otherwise you’re free to throw tomatoes at my head. It was pretty…dead today but that’s how Fridays are at any con you go to.

I got on the bus to anime next and i knew i was in the right place when i was surrounded by idiots yelling out obnoxiously about pokemon and anime related shit. If that wasn’t bad enough they made us wait in a long line just to give us a stupid sticker and tell us to wait in yet another fucking line to get our badge. Are they trying to compete with the worst reg procedures with anime boston?

We walked around a bit and then took a walk to the artist alley which was all the way downstairs this year. And by downstairs i mean in the freaking basement parking lot. It’s so hot down there that i was really glad i gave up my table spot this year. Despite the mad heat there was a huge line down there to get into the dealers room. You’d think these idiots never heard of online shopping or going to kinokuniya in manhattan.

Anyway since we arrived late and wasted time in line we decided to go check out the AMV contest. I didn’t enter this year but I figured I’d support fellow creators. However after sitting through the really lame trailer category (and let me tell you, using “All your Base are Belong to Us” is dumb because most people were probably in kindergarten school when that meme came out >.>) we sat through 2 of the romance videos then walked out. I know good AMVs exist, but I just couldn’t sit through these.

Afterwards we met up with Dan over at the New York Anime Festival table so we could all vote for my entry hehe. Apparently people over at the otaku site were enraged that all the finalists were “digital” rather than “traditional” artists. Well sorry if it just so happens that all the traditional entries of your stupid badly proportioned women, apples and people in plain clothes (dude this is a MASCOT not a mirror image of yourself) weren’t creative enough. (New York isn’t just about the Big fucking apple you tourist morons.)

Soo anyway after we met up with Dan we went to Subway for lunch and then headed back to go into the dealers room - which now had no underground heat line and we walked in pretty much immediately. While walking around it helped us kill an hour and we found Ragnarok Online plushies that all of us bought. They also happen to be shamies so you can wipe your glasses or cell phone with them :P. I got an Angeling and Dan got a Drops. They also had a Dropping Alice hat and an Alice doll too but $10 for the Angeling is all I was willing to spend. (Yes I know JP paid for it but that’s besides the point )

Also, while waiting for Dan to buy his magazine one of the Sasuga books sellers got a phone call about jujou romantica which made me and jp burst out laughing. And it got better when we walked up to a dealers selling a Junjou Romantica artbook. When we flipped inside there was totally buttsecks images in there. And if that wasn’t bad enough, they were selling a Nanatsuiro Drops game book which was NOT sealed and when you open to take a peek inside - EROSCENES! LOL! JP of course had to yell “WHOAAA PORNOGRAPHY”. I hope the Japanese people selling this crap didn’t hear him But yea it’s funny how Media Blasters like puts plastic over their milf hentai DVDs but these guys are selling eroge artbooks out in the open ^^;

We then went to the lemon fanfic panel but since we got there early we got to hear Greg Ayers make an ass of himself. I think he has an anti-fansub panel that we wanna go to tomorrow and totally piss him off with questions like “What if I watch raws that I immediately delete afterwards? ” Instead of waiting for them to check our IDs to make sure we were over 18, we then decided to go to win lose or draw but that ended up being lame so we left. It didn’t help that it started late so we couldn’t even catch the end of the lemon fanfic panel.

We decided to have an early dinner before our reborn photo shoot. We went to Red Lobster and at the end the manager came up to us and asked us to call and fill out a survey which would then give us a discount next time we came back. That’s cool cause we’re coming back tomorrow lol! We got to the Katekyo Hitman Reborn photoshoot a bit early and had to wait. It was a bit disorganized at first but once everyone came we managed to actually get a good number of cosplayers in it. What’s funny is I was the only “female” character cosplayer, while JP and 1 other guy were the only MALE cosplayers period. All the other characters were girls cosplaying as guys Note: KHR is a Shounen Jump series that is currently running.

The worst part of it all today? The fucking idiots in the “Arena” area who were screaming as a Light cosplayer was glomping Sasuke and Naruto cosplayers. (See video above.) As I was waiting for JP to get his drink in the dealer’s room, the moronic fangirls screamed every 5 minutes SO FUCKING LOUD (plus the echo from the huge con center) that at one point I was like “FUCK THIS SHIT GEEZUS FUCKING CHRIST IM OUT OF HERE”. I fucking ran to the nearest exit. God someone needs to sedate these kids!! And if any of you are reading this blog and were there screaming and you come here telling me not to insult you I just want to say ahead of time: DIE IN A FIRE FUCK YOU YOU STUPID FUCKING WEEABOOS YOU RUINED CONVENTION GOING FOR MATURE ANIME FANS AND ALMOST MADE MY EARDRUMS EXPLODE.

Anyway coming back tomorrow and I’ll have photos up either tomorrow or Sunday. (Not that many photos as I am tired of taking pics of Naruto, Bleach, Ouran, Kingdom Hearts and Gurren Lagan cosplayers.) I also met up with Nyachan while she was dancing Motteke Sailor Fuku. And speaking of Junjou Romantica, I have this week’s episode to watch so stay tuned for that Also JP has another approach to today’s events.
