Holy shit it’s a miracle!
Just saw this post at alafista. This cursed endless manga is finally gonna end. I haven’t actually bothered to read the rest of the manga because the anime was so god damn long (although compared to Naruto that number now seems pale 
) Can someone please tell me though: Who does Inuyasha end up with? Kagome or Kikyo? That’s all I wanna know. I really don’t care who the hell they defeat to get that stupid jewel and how many times Sango’s brother has to come back to life and die. I bet if I just read the last chapter, it’ll all make sense without me having to have read the 15 volumes in between.

Finally!!! I’m curious too about the “final” pairing. Though not as curious ages ago. I’ve read too many Kagome and Sesshoumaru fanfics that the part of me who supports Kagome and Inuyasha pairing has become so small.
LOL I haven’t really been into Inuyasha much either but it’s one of those “well I kept up with it for a while, might as well find out what the ending is” type of deals.
I want to believe.

Y’know, that was the only upside I saw to the TV series - I could always watch in On Demand (it was free) if I was bored because it didn’t matter how many episodes I’d missed, since nothing ever changed.
Kikyo..kind of…died for good some time ago before the final battle ( which like , lasted one freakin year ! ).
So the obvious choice now would be Kagome..but some stuff is happening..and Rumiko being Rumiko i can see a no-one wins ending with both Kagome and Inuyasha dying..or one of them dying for the other one , etc.
Guess we’ll see for real next weeks.
…Also Miroku survived ¬_¬ .
Not that I wanted him to die..but for the past two years or so they were all ” oh noes , the kazana is killing him , oh noes , he absorbed too much yoki , it’s going to destroy his heart , oh noes , oh noes” ..So I was expecting this epic death…but nuuuoo..nada .

is much has don’t care to read rumiko takahashi’s absurdly long inuyasha manga, for some the very, very, VERY small part of me who once upon a time gave a damn about the anime is a bit curious which ball in chain inuyasha gets trapped with
I could probably guess he’ll probably end up with kagome though (as much as I hate her), since there’s no escaping the fact kikyo is dead, but who knows.
If I recall (I stopped reading a while back, and only just started again when I heard it was ending), Kikyou died, leaving the way free for Kagome.
And if you care to know, Naraku died (so far), and Miroku has been cured of the curse on his hand. Hurray!
Whats there to curious about? It has to be InuyashaxKagome and SangoxMiroku. If Takahashi does not put at least the first two together she should expect no less than effigies and rioting in the streets from the burning rage of a million otakus.
Inukag is the final pairing of the series, kikyou died a while back. Kagome had realized earlier though that there was no “triangle” in the first place, meaning she had not a chance to lose him, and it was just her lack of self confidence that made her emo all the time about kikyou and inuyasha being together.
Not to mention Inuyasha basiclly saying he was born to meet kagome in those exact words…depending on what happens next though the pairings will be the least of the problems, as its quite possible kagome and inuyasha died after 557 (they wished the jewel to be cease to exist forever, while they were inside of it.)
The series stagnated about 200 chapters ago though IMO got so repetitive, so i’m not really that hyped but in anycase..there ya go.
Its kinda undetermined in the manga. I haven’t read all the chapters, (I’d die if I did!) But right now currently in the manga:
Naraku is dead
The Shikon no Tama is evil and talks (scary enough :shock:)
Kikyo IS dead
Kohaku is alive, without a shard of the sacred jewel; Kikyo saved him (its a LOOOONG story)
The Bone Eaters well is gone
Miroku and Sango are together (they’ve already kissed) dont ask what chappie cause i cant remember.
Remember Midoriko from the anime. She was the priestess who created the Shikon no Tama and died, but in the afterlife fought for an eternity with the demon surrounding her in the Demon Slayers Village cave.
Well, the Shikon no Tama intends for Kagome to make the final wish on it, it asks if Kagome will wish to go back home, but she could never return again. Meanwhile Inuyasha comes to save Kagome, but can’t find her.
*sigh* Sorry it was so long. A lot has happened and I tried answering other ppls questions also.
Kikyo went back to Gensokyo. To be an undead armpit miko.
kagome and that female dog half-demon are going to have puppies.
And yes, inuyasha is a friggin herm.

You mean it won’t be like some other Takahasi manga that never resolve the relationships and just leave the status quo?
Rumiko Takahashi has got to be the mistress of reset. No one can stretch a story which has enough story for barely five volumes to fifty volumes, simply by going back to 0 every five volumes, like her.
Yea cause everytime you think they kill Naraku, *reset* woops there he goes in another body! Back to the drawing board!
FINALLY! I kinda gave up on this 500 chapters ago.

well ive been following the manga the whole time and its about damn time it ended summary:

inuyasha opens hole to said dimension(haha) goes after her, she cant hear his voice and she is being swallowed by darkness..ok best part naraku is dead but if kagome makes a selfish wish to go home then he will be revived lol.
anyways since the last chapter inuyasha voice just reached her..

Wow…I’ve only read a few of the first manga but that series is just too long for me to continue with half interest. Given how little time passed between Ranma 1/2 and InuYasha, I bet she comes up with another one really soon that will then span another decade of my life.

Finally… Dammit, I love the story and such but it just dragged on an on since I left off. I however don’t expect too much from the ending, maybe as bad a one as the anime.

I think InuYasha would’ve been more tolerable had Kikyo been left DEAD resting in peace. That way, Inuyasha would’ve been a better character (less angsty and wussy), and we could’ve seen more IY x Kagome sweet and fun antics too. I gave up on the anime and manga ages ago, but loved the 2nd movie :3

Its actually possible for this too end.. i thought i would have made it out of university before that happened (still in highschool). I though this was gonna be like D.N Angel that was never finished but because the author died or like other manga the mangaka got tired of the story and droped it… we’ll see what happens..

@Caitlin: Even Ranma 1/2 didn’t drag out as long as Inu-Yasha did. And Ranma kept introducing new villains and obstacles, so at least it didn’t seem as STAGNANT as IY does.
In my opinion Ranma was even worse. Ranma only had enough plot for 3 volumes and she dragged it on until vol 40.
Finally IY is ending… I think Takahashi best work is still Maison Ikkoku. At least it’s only 14 vol.

I’d never EVER be patient enough to watch a freakin 167 episodes knowing that there was NO end. At least with Sailormoon they had an ending… several endings in fact 
then they’d come back to life with the next bad guy.
You know… I watched the first episode of Inuyasha plus the first 3 movies… and that was enough for me to know the entire story.
I want to know if Inuyasha stays with Kagome!!
I’m been reading the last few chapters of the manga. To my surprise (not) I was able to catch what was happening even though I only watch a few episodes of the anime and a few fanfiction.
I think the whole thing is a canon fanfiction.
I hope she won’t pull another “What they in the future is up to your imagination” Ranma 1/2 ending. I think I stopped reading Inuyasha several years ago, now I’m quite interested in how it’ll end.
Nah they won’t have that kind of ending shiro, actually the ending is a timeskip, 3 years after they kill naraku, which is technically one year after they started the journey, which is 4 years after kagome fell down the well, which would make her 19
It’s finally ending? Oh thank GOD!
I love Inuyasha but it’s been dragging on forever. I rememer Rumiko saying that she wanted to end the series soon… 5 years ago!
Think most of us are just going to wait for Inuyasha to end and just read the final volume. XD
Now, let’s get back to Ranma
This is why I really wish she’d stick to her one-shots… they’re straight to the point and satisfying, and that the characters don’t change very much is OK because it only lasts twenty or thirty pages.
I didn’t read all the responses, but the last published chapter, Kagome finds herself back in the present era at school. So many are speculating that he’ll end up with kikyo.
I have no idea how it’s gonna end, but I’m actually not satisfied with it. All this for a quick summation? This better be one hell of a last chapter, and as slow as it’s moved over the past decade plus, I don’t really see that happening.
Either way, it needs to be done. Makes me wonder when Berserk will end. Or if it ever will. I think it’s much older than Inu Yasha.
Used to love Inuyasha and it started my anime watching but
i havn’t read the mangas cause its mostly repeat and with
kikyo dead you could tell it was going to Kagome.
Which was boring.
Kikyo left ages ago to go shopping in Nagasaki. She was sick of that miko outfit and decided to find herself something more fashionable.
Right now InuYasha and Kagome are together YAY.
But Kagome wished the shikon no tama out of existence.
Since we are fast forwarding three years into the future for the last chapter next week.
I’m going to assume no-one is dead, now as to which time they are in? I don’t have a clue!
Actually, she wrote some decent shortstories which are at least not that frustrating since they actually end, and that even after only one chapter! *GASP*
But woo, I gave up reading the manga too, forced my bf to watch the anime with me and after we finally watched it all we were like “WTF.. it doesn’t end!?” god, were we foolish to believe it would.
So finally it will have an end, sure makes me curious. I just hope it won’t end like Ranma, that really was awful.. and boy, I liked Ranma so much, before I read the last chapter that is.
I’d still read more of Rumiko Takahashi’s work if they’re in the same line as Mermaid’s Scar/Forest, etc… those types need not end, coz each story segment is complete on its own.

Kagome decided to stay with Inuyasha in the Feudal Era. (Btw, Sango and Miroku already had 3 kids)
Finally, the 558 chapter series came to an end…and it only took 12 years.
