Naruto Ch. 402 - Sasuke the Toolbox
You know I had almost thought this was a great chapter up until the last page. I mean the last page just dropped the bomb of predictability on the entire story making all the readers’ comments on this blog “true” in regards to the ultimate prediction of: Sasuke will fight Naruto as the grand finale. You know what else is predictable? Neither of them will win, they will once again see the err of their ways, hug, kiss makeup buttsecks followed by Naruto becoming Hokage, the end. (And I’ll be damned if I’m wrong about this too.)
I admit I was glad to see Saucy shed a tear. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him shed a tear since the flashback of when Itachi killed the entire Uchiha clan. (Unless you count the “rain tears” after him and Naruto’s showdown in part 1.)
But instead of learning from his mistakes and trying to live a better life what does he do? He renames his team from snake to “Eagle” (great idea there Saucy 
) and then decides he’s gonna destroy Konoha. LOL look at his eyeballs, he looks like he’s been blinded with science. And what’s Madara doing during all this? Having some LOLcupcakes watching his tool act just as KEIKAKU. “Great now I don’t have to bother with that PAIN in the ass, I’ll just have Saucy do it for me! And all his retard friends like Narooto will never fight him seriously because they think he’s their NAKAMA.” 
The best for me of course was this:
Why are you asking that silly question Kishimoto-sensei? Obviously the answer is that he’s making out with fugly filler characters™.

I read this because I expected something about Itachi but then I was sad that it was just about Saucy and his … what are those in his eyes, ATOMS? xD

The idea that your eyes change after major life events really amuses me. What will happen after Sasuke finally makes out with a guy/girl? Will he start shooting laser beams out of his eyes?
Oh yeah, I hate to let plot get in the way, but why would Sasuke finally realize that his brother loved him… and then do the very thing that his brother was trying to prevent?
I know, I know, I shouldn’t be asking these questions.

Besides it’s obviously the only person Saucy will ever make out with is Narooto, unless Karin gets to him and succeeds

Yeah, I don’t even know anymore. Sasuke’s learning that Itachi is really a good guy makes him want to… throw away everything Itachi suffered for and do exactly the opposite of what Itachi intended. I don’t understand what Sasuke’s motivation is. At least when he was emo I could blame the emo. Revenge on the village would make sense except that even the way Madara told it, the Uchihas were the bad guys. If only this wasn’t Shounen, and Naruto could kill Sasuke rather than covnerting him.
Too bad Sasuke doesn’t really have science eyes; he’s still stuck in that genjutsu.
Ha! That joke never gets old for me =D.
sigh..you thought that with Itachi dead, Sasuke’s emoness would cease, but noooooooo…he just directed towards Konoha & co instead.
So I guess Naruto need a few of his friends corpses lying around before he even thinks about touchin Sasukue

this was the only way to make naruto and sasuke have an ultimate showdown. Naruto, being the person who wants to be hokage of konoha and Sasuke who now wants to destroy konoha, both would inevitably fight in the future….Im sensing this manga will be a lot longer my friends…

I still don’t know why you bother with this crap. The art is fugly as hell, fillers take over, its not shoujo, naruto is an idiot, and sasuke ruins everything.

Yah the only reason I bother with Naruto is for the parodies and rage at it.
Itachi loved his village and died for the sake of it and now Sasuke wants to destroy it? That’s some great logic there.

I saw the spoilers for this yesterday so I’ve had time to cool my fangirl rage. And it really is rage.
Obviously this is partly for plot’s sake, but I also think that Sasuke doing this really points out just how freaking SELFISH he is. Never mind that this was to prevent a war, to protect the general people, he’s hurting and they need to pay.
I wouldn’t say you can’t expect much more from a 16-year old, then I remember all the other characters in Naruto who are 16 and well-adjusted. *sigh* Of course we never see them anymore.
I think it also shows how, in his own way, he’s very weak-minded. He’s always dancing to someone else’s tune. First it was Itachi’s. Now it’s Madara’s. He’s never really taken the time to re-evaluate himself as a person, he just goes with his immediate emotions and that let’s people play him like a puppet. It’s immature.
And, finally, the fangirl rage. If people ever wonder why I rant and rave at Naruto, it’s because I’m ANGRY. I’m angry that this once really fun and entertaining series has gone down the shithole. It’s like being betrayed by the author.

i guess i can see your hate for the manga clearly, but i don’t understand why its imperative that its bashed so needlessly, the worst part is you seemed to have forgotten that kakashi, sakura and other characters are supposed to get more fleshing out as opposed to sasuke just barging into konoha and “seeing the light” predictably. I have my own suspicions about Sasuke dying like a little bitch at the last minute, but I’d atleast wait and see what happens before busting a nut and whining about it.
Y’know, I’m reminded of that History Channel Star Wars feature when Kevin Smith was talking about Darth Vader. He pointed out how lots of fans hate young Anakin because he’s a whiny emo bitch and he was like, “Dude, that’s who the galaxy’s greatest villain would be! He wouldn’t be an upstanding citizen, he’d start out as a whiny teenager with issues!” And he does have a point.
Only I don’t think Sasuke is as cool as Darth Vader.
Even after reading all these chapters, I have a question:
What happened to Pein’s Shapeshifting technique for Akatsuki members? I thought he created a double for everyone in Akatsuki, so this whole time I’m expecting Itachi to come back and go “HAHA FOOLED YA!”.
the good news out of this seems to be a promise to return to (who’s that main character again?) as the main character.
You’d think they’d be done with fillers now. Time to get to the point already. The only reason the author would put a teaser at the end of the chapter would be to encourage those who’d lost interest to pick up the next issue at the very least, and it BETTER have some REAL content or even the loyal fans will be sorely disappointed.
When TV shows lose popularity, the writers will often go for the “one last gasp” of popularity spikes by “resolving” some tension, whether it be a conflict between rivals (Hinano’s point), or between potential lovers (also Hinano’s point, heh), yotta yotta yotta. Then the show gets boring and it either gets canceled or “officialy ends” with no possibility of a sequel.

In fact, lets add to more predictablity and alow Sakura too find the error in her heart(or kishimotos pen which ever you like) and marry Naruto then have Karin rape Sasgay till he turns straight (yeah im enjoying this too much)…10 years later they have babies with reversed roles NaruxSaku have a boy whose all “i could care less about this world and SasxKarin have a Girl whose all like “IM GOING TO RAPE YOU!”
Hinata? Tenten? Hinata is going too realize shes missing her favorite dog and Tenten will stil have no meaning and marry Neji..What happens? Neijs kid and Hinatas kid get it on (yeah im bored soo ill keep going).
Um whoo am I missing…. Ino and Shikamaru will get together and be smart and keep their kid away from the other weridos..but is till gonna magically happen their kid is gonna fall for Temaris kid…

It’s hard to really look at whiny emo teenager villains and be intimidated by them. And when horrible things happen because of them, that doesn’t make them credible Magnificent Bastards, that makes the audience think: “Wait… all this, over a bunch of selfish whining? WTF?”

It also doesn’t help that George Lucas is a rather poor director, in the traditional sense of what a director should be good at.
Sad thing is, I’ve never seen nor read a jot of Naruto, I just stumbled in here because I was amused at the long-running grumblings. I’m surprised I even found something to comment on, honestly.
OPENING ITS EYES–THE “BAGEL” TAKES FLIGHT!
I’m in the minority here, but I’ve gotta say that a lot of the criticism against Sasuke seems…unfounded? Dude was written out of the series for over two years, so I think it’s pretty natural that he shows up for a bit now. Plus, Kishimoto did say this year would be all about Sasuke. After this, it’s Sakura or Kakashi’s turn apparently.
But I like him as the antagonist. Sure, he’s an easily manipulated tool whom can’t think for himself, but at least this way it’s interesting. It reminds me of the setup as Keith as the bad guy in Toward the Terra.
The Uchiha’s have always been this huge mystery, and finally the author’s elaborating on that. You can dislike where the story is headed, but I’m enjoying that Kishimoto is finally focusing on them rather than snake pedophiles and swirly-eyed dicks.
I miss the main character, but everyone else has some pretty serious issues that can’t be solved too easily. He’ll come soon enough.

I really had so much expectation for where the story was headed when Sasuke seemed to have been “enlightened”. Then came the last panel and I suddenly felt like dropping Naruto altogether…
