Persona -Trinity Soul- 21

Published by Hinano at 4:05 pm under Persona

Yeaaa this episode had so much unknown vocab to me I had to go back and rewatch certain scenes with a dictionary. So YukiJun’s been captured but not by accident it seems. He went to the guys who are trying to catch the Marebito and asked to be used as bait. He expected to get captured but in the hopes that they can get this whole persona thing resolved and stop causing sadness and pain to everyone. The difference is I think when Jun volunteered to be bait, it was prior to him becoming YukiJun which is why he was like “I can’t release the persona now” but was captured anyway.

While Jun and Kanaru are captured Megumi and Takurou think of trying to check their houses to see where they are. In the meantime all hell breaks loose in their school as well when some random kid starts going “But that’s not my name, my name is _____!!” then he runs off crying. This explains the entire thing of people taking over bodies of others. I’m not sure but I THINK that this happened to Kanaru as well. This is why Saki refers to Kanaru as having “one more self.

So from what me and Jim Breen came up with is that Kanaru had some sort of promise with “Mayuri” while she was in the children adoption center with the rest of the marebito but instead she was adopted into a rich family. Saki says that Mayuri “never existed” and that she was surprised and how quickly Kanaru picked up on the “configuration” (which is probably whatever that thing is that she whispers to her.) I think that configuration is something that was done to all the kids there by that erojiji.

In the meantime Shin follows one of the guys who did experiments with the erojiji. He tells him that he saw him in the photo of his parents and that erojiji when they were doing experiments together. They were doing experiments to “bring out another entity” from a person’s subconscious. He mentions how they stopped being ethical when that erojiji began doing the experimenting on his daughter Ayane. He then gathered supporters and continued to do these experiments and neither this guy nor Shin’s parents stopped him.

Ayane of course was young and wanted to please her father so she allowed these experiments to be done on herself. Also that erojiji turned a children’s adoption center into his lab from what I understand. So he basically used these parentless kids as his lab rats, which included basically all the “marebito” + Kanaru. Anyway they were all lied to saying they were the “chosen ones” when all they were chosen was to be his experimental subjects. At the end while all the marebito are trying to get Jun’s persona to come out (which being YukiJun is impossible) they find Shiba completely dead.

I think the jiji like used his body to revive himself or something since Shiba’s persona is what originally attacked the jiji’s little “glass grave” thing. They also realize now that the erojiji has been using them - and all in order to revive his soul-less daughter Ayane who he did experiments on in the first place!! Also Shin finds out that Jun and Yuki were just experimental subjects for the erojiji - and up till now Shin thought he was their “life savior”. :( Meanwhile Saki and Soutarou go into the room where all the persona holders are laying unconscious in their tube things.

In the center they open up and there’s a girl with short hair - it’s Ayane. She has brown hair like the professor though rather than the pink hair that we see when she appears as an illusion. Soutarou says that she was killed in Kujou’s experiments and now he wants to revive her. In the meantime Kanaru snapped out of it and has been trying to get Jun out of that tube thing. Soutarou starts losing his mind and gets pissed looking at Ayane’s lifeless body. All of a sudden her eyes shift towards him and he gets so pissed he uses his persona to try to stab her - and the episode ends.

Oh good lord I hope there’s less talk and more action next week. My poor brain can’t keep up with all of this scientific jargon!

You’re good!!! You did such a good summary, even though the damn episode was the biggest brain fryer of this series.
What pissed me off so much was that the kuso-jiji, is now trying to bring back Ayane, even though it was pretty much his fault she ended up like that.
What I want to know is whether he wants her back because he cares about her or to keep experimenting on her?

Scheris> Haha thanks :P I really don’t know but based on similar scenarios in the past most likely if she’s brought back, she’ll end up dying again or giving up her life because if she lives she’ll just be miserable or some other crap xD; I’m just looking forward to a short scene I saw in the preview of Kanaru holding Shin

    Hehe, you’re welcome.
Oh yeah, that scene looks good.
But then who knows what’s going to happened to Kanaru because of the other scene where she’s on the floor looking at the ceiling with blank eyes… I hope they don’t kill her off or turn her into a vegetable.
