Itazura na Kiss - 05
I thought
this episode was only going to focus on the studying/college crap but it surprised me as nearly halfway through they went right into Christmas. I mean no offense to Kotoko, but sometimes I feel that she and her friends are so stupid. As hard as Japanese mock tests are difficult and all, how the hell can they not know EVERY question? I mean what the hell did you do in class the past year? So this time around I felt kinda sorry for Naoki cause unlike him, I wouldn’t have done their homework, I woulda thrown the book back in their face 
To make things grander, the entire class floods the Irie house and begs Naoki to tutor them and he agrees! Dude you should charged like $10 per hour per person, you coulda made so much money!!! Really, when he really needs to, he so doesn’t have the balls but when he’s being a cowardly fag picking on Kotoko he’s suddenly Mr. Anaconda. (This is an inside joke about penis enlargement spam emails I get telling me to turn this grass snake into an anaconda but I digress.) Also I’d like to mention that Jinko’s seiyuu needs to stop screaming. Ugh if you think Yuko Goto or Maka are nails on chalkboard you should hear this ostrich gaggle. 
So as a thanks Kotoko and her friends wanna give Naoki a present. Kotoko also finds some old fart bracelet that she sees Santa wearing but in order to afford it, she takes a part time job at a ramen shop. She ends up making in enough (Damn that’s like $250 for a Bracelet wtf was she thinking!??) and buying it for him, but when he sees it he’s like wtf. Of course once he hears that she worked hard for him to get it, thankfully he smiles and accepts it. God if he rejected it I woulda set his cock on fire. Kotoko’s friends give him a stuffed doll of Kotoko that says “I love you” on it lol (to which Naoki wants to throw out, but I forgive him, as it’s uglier than Jinko lol.)
After everyone exchanges presents, Naoki’s mom asks him if he has a present for Kotoko. He says of course not, and she’s like “I knew that which is why Kotoko’s present will be a close shot of the two of you together!” Much to my shock, Naoki accepts. 
He even goes as far as grabbing her shoulder and pulling her next to him….however the bastard at the last moment whispers to her the lines she said while working at the ramen shop…which surprises her, and that’s the photo that she ends up getting as a present. ^^; I think this week I’d call it a tie.
Upcoming Attractions: New Years & Valentine’s Day, man this show is just flying by ain’t it?

The amount of time they cover in each Itazura episode is mind-boggling.

In this episode both Kotoko and Naoki were annoying, her for being unable to answer any of the questions and him for being his usual bastard self.
At least he acted a little nice, even if he ends up going back to his tsuderella mode.

Well, they have people in the OP that they don’t meet till college so I suspect that time will continue to advance quickly
In the manga the storyline goes through a span of 10 YEARS. So I think right now they’re trying to get through with the high school stuff quickly and go into the “college arc.” And some of the best stuff happens in college.
But I’m glad they’re going at a quick pace. Why? Because the inevitable “get together” scene doesn’t happen until like their last year of college.
I like the fast pace personally. We should get some actual couple time then.
Unlike shows like Lovely Complex that took 18 episodes get together and then two episodes later had a fight and broke up again.

Honestly, I started sympathizing with Naoki since episode 4, but only until he starts acting like a jerk-off.
I don’t think they’re stupid, just incredibly lazy.

As fast as they are going, the story is only covered till vol 2 I think for now. I personally like the pace! Having this feeling that there will be 2 series of this.
