A follow up to the Pocky sale.

Published by Hinano at 5:22 pm under Unsorted

So like I said, I did go to Mitsuwa and while we picked up our regular groceries too you couldn’t help but notice the giant Pocky booth right at the entrance to the supermarket. Just in case you pretended not to, there were Japanese girls running around with pocky and/or Pretz (which I don’t like that much) in wine glasses and handing them out to you.

Since I needed a lunch snack at work and I was tired of granola bars I figured this could be a great replacement so I sorta went nuts and grabbed …a lot:

The Taiyaki is completely irrelevant to the pocky sale but I haven’t had any at home in a while so I picked up a bag (along with a new bag of Hotcake mix  )

Also DS this one’s for you:

For some odd reason though, it was very empty today. I don’t know if it’s due to the weird weather but on the way there the shuttle only had about 6 people including us, and on the way back it was literally JUST us. Frankly I’m not complaining, it was a lot easier getting a seat and quieter on the ride back to Manhattan.

And while we’re on the topic of Pocky, this is my favorite Pocky commercial ever:

Damn you and your Pocky posts, I ended up looting the commissary for Pocky 0.83 USD a pop snagging 10 chocolate, and 10 strawberry.

Hey any good sake worth picking up? Apparently the local Class 6 has cheap kegs and an aisle full of pricey sake.

Is the men’s (flavor) pocky in the first picture for you or JP?

How does one get sick of Granola bars? I’m to addicted to even consider that possible. Especially if they yogurt ones.

The Taiyaki looks GOOOOD. What are they filled with? I don’t read Japanese. Custard & Chocolate are my favorites but the bean paste good too. I think they have cheese as well, never tasted them but now I’ve got the munchies.

    Damn your delicious posts.

    Crusader> I wouldn’t know I don’t drink :P

    Panda> That’s for JP, I hate Men’s Pocky lol

Sabrina> They weren’t fruity enough for me, too much grain. Taiyaki are filled with red bean paste.

I wish there was a shuttle to a Mitsauwa where I live. Instead, I have to drive two hours :( Although there is an Asian market with Poky nearby, but the flavors are limited… and they don’t have taiyaki and dango either…

OK, now I wanna go to Anime Next so I can go to Mitsuwa too! And I just got a new sport coat so maybe I could join your Reborn cosplay…

I can see the uses for giant pocky. Dildo. Sweet too.

Eh? For me I personally prefer all the Pocky CMs that feature Ishihara Satomi <3

  17. Hinano UNITED STATESon 28 Apr 2008 at 9:22 am

Shin> I like the Satomi-chan ones too. My favorite’s the one where she’s about to kiss some guy in her room then her mom bursts in going “I brought some refreshments!”

Since you are talking snacks, you might also try the Japanese version of KitKat. They make MANY flavors. Green Tea and Sakura are my top flavors. They seem to have a new flavor every month or so.
