A really nice emotional episode this week focusing on Megumi and her family. Basically since she’s been staying with the school dorms she doesn’t see her parents that often. She’s also been adopted so she is not blood related to her mother. (Someone correct me if I’m wrong.) She once had a brother named Tomoya who died in a car accident that her family got in. Everyone but him survived because Megumi who as a loli could use her persona, used it to protect them but did not manage to protect him.

The thing is, her brother was her mother’s favorite. So when he died, and she approached her mom, her mom angrily yelled “why couldn’t it be YOU” in reference to why did Tomoya have to die rather than Megumi. So ever since then the relationship with her mom had been pretty rocky for Megumi. In the meantime Jun has been recovering at her house and Takuro/Shin were sleeping due to tiredness from using their personas. The whole time Megumi thought that it was her fault that her brother died because she was jealous that he got all the attention and perhaps she mentally didn’t want her persona to save him.

After Jun had awakened they decided to take him to a nearby hospital and everyone but Shin and Kanaru had left in a van. Because of that guy who spewed those things out of his persona last week, a truck driver went out of control and crashed into the van where Jun, Kanaru, Takurou, Megumi and here mom were in. Takurou tried to help but instead ended up only saving himself until the van crashed into the water. While in the water Megumi came to her senses and used her persona to save everyone but her mom.

She then thought of the incident from her childhood and despite what her mom said she used her persona to save her as well. She almost drowned but then I think Shin’s persona saved her. After she woke up her mom was like “it was you that time wasn’t it!” She broke into tears realizing that Megumi was the one who saved them all years ago. Anyway basically she and her mom make up and she gives her some clementines to take home on the train ride back. Also allow me to fangirl at the scene where Kanaru is all deredere because she knew that Shin was sleeping
