Garment District has betrayed me.
This
weekend I was in Manhattan’s garment district trying to get some ribbon to complete our Reborn cosplay for New York Comic Con happening this weekend. Anyway for god knows what reason the Garment District has their own little Blue Law and every freaking store (except the bead ones) was closed. So now I am ribbon-less and can’t do my Reborn cosplay for the con. So I throw out a question to fellow New Yorkers - is there another place I can get ribbon at?? Or do I have to run like the wind after work hoping one of these stores will be open?
If I can’t get ribbons I may have to revive my Shugo Chara cosplay, but that’s gonna suck since I’ll have to carry our wigs and then put them on in a bathroom somewhere at the Javitz Center (because I’m not wearing a bright pink wig in the middle of the subway. I did that once and all the lolis and shotas couldn’t take their eyes off me
) Anyway if you’re going I’m only going to be there Saturday with JP. I know my usual con buddy is gonna be there and perhaps if we have time before the T.M. Revolution concert we can all have some Shabu Shabu for dinner.

Wait…the lolis AND the shotas?
Oh you know how kids are, anything with bright colors automatically gets their attention.
Loli and shota loev hinano. Just ask totali. >_>
Will jp finally be forced into a skirt?
DiGi~ Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! orz
Hmm…surely there’s another place to get a ribbon…does it have to be special or something? :s
The lolis like pink things. I see the arrow on the FedEx truck.
BuuBuu! It’s supposed to be uruchai! uruchai! uruchai!
LOL I would never put JP in a skirt with his hairy legs!!
lol, it wouldn’t be as bad as the male Haruhi Suzumiya at our local con last year. xD
was it as bad as man faye?
But jp has worn a dress once…
what jp did before he dated me doesnt count
Hmmmm, Jp on a dress?
So now witnessing another show like that is out of the question?
Have you tried Pearl Paint on Canal Street in Chinatown?
bakaneko> I thought about it but it’s even more out of the way than going to the garment district during the weekday ^^;
Do they not have normal department stores in New York? Frickin Wal Mart sells ribbon.
No
(Except K-Mart which doesn’t have any craft stuff last I checked)
WHAT? Blue law? How……anyways.
And NY doesn’t have any normal department stores…that’s weird..I wonder why.
Whoa! A place without a Target or Walmart?
yea I really havent been to wal mart since I was in NJ
there’s a target in brooklyn but its so ransaked that when I go there there’s nothing left and only huge lines.
we do go to the target that’s in NJ when we go to Mitsuwa but unfortunately that target is closed on Sundays thanks to the gay blue law
