Kimi Hannin Janai Yo Ne? - 01
As
mentioned in my spring preview I wanted to check out this show because the premise seemed highly amusing. I kept thinking she was the one who played Tsukushi from Hana Yori Dango but turns out I was wrong…she was someone else in HYD2…but who she was is giving me a brain fart. Anyway our heroine, Morita Sakura has a talent (like in every anime this season) of seeing something once and remembering it. Due to this she never has to study, however her one interest is to be a mystery novel writer…but she has no writing talent what so ever and her manuscripts always get rejected.
One day she gets a part time job working for the writers of one of her favorite mystery series. She basically is just their assistant. As some background information, she has multiple part time jobs and tries to get bananas from the fruit lady for free because she lives alone with her sister (binbou shimai monogatari style) since her parents are both dead. Anyway one day as she’s coming in for her shift, the door won’t open. She runs into the other lady working there and they both see that the head writer has hung herself (or so it seems.)
Sakura immediately calls the cops and they conclude that the writer lady hung herself. A few minutes later Udagawa Kyosei (who they call as bocchan because he’s the son of a very rich conglomerate business owner) comes in and the first thing he does is trip over the evidence.
He’s basically an idiot and he had to beg his dad to allow him to work on the detective force because his dad thought that he can’t do anything on his own. It doesn’t help his credibility that he immediately falls for one of the suspects ^^;
While on the investigation, Sakura notices how the criminal escaped in regards to the placement of a dumbbell and a golf club. After explaining herself Kyosei and the others, she runs off to her part time job as a construction worker. (In addition she also has a part time job as a temple geisha, and a waitress at 2 restaurants.) Kyosei offers her a crapload of money to work part time for him to help him solve mysteries…so he can appear to look good in front of his coworkers and most importantly his father.
Anyway the case is solved, turns out the woman how Kyosei fell for was the criminal. (He even wanted her to escape lol!) She killed the writer lady because the writer lady made fun of her calling her a talentless loser. She killed the other guy also because he happened to see the whole thing through their house window. (Although what he was doing there in the middle of the night is beyond me.) This is a fun drama, I really enjoyed the parts with Kyosei (Kaname Jun is awesome. He was in Himitsu no Hanazono btw.) I think I’ll be following this every Sunday.

This sounds good, now I kinda want to watch it. Especially because of Kaname Jun.

BTW, did something happen to the website? Something looks different
I just removed the recent comments section because it was screwy (not sure why but don’t have the time to figure it out XP)
Is photographic memory some kind of ultimate Japanese dream talent?
Hinano> Oooh, that’s right. I forgot that lately everyone was named XXX-not found. o_o
Grr… I must remember to NOT read your post until AFTER watching the episode first.
What is it with the memory thing this season? And also for god’s sake if you have photographic memory you are by default a genius (you’ll test well let’s say) and then they always do something that seems incredibly pointless considering their gift. luckily this girl ends up doing something alrightish though it give me monk-vibes (as in the tv show not the devout).
Quirky storyline….but is it a comedic drama or more serious? I mean people are obviously dying but it also seems lighthearted…I’m a little confused. lol.
It’s a comedic mystery drama…I think ^^;
Well this anime season’s photographic memory duo actually do worthwhile things with their talents later on…
Comedy-criminal exploits seem to thrive on this timeslot, like Jikou Keisatsu and Trick. Kanjiya Shihori (Sakura) was also in the movie Swing Girls with Ueno Juri who is in Last Friends right now… well that’s how I remembered her.
My favorite part is when Sakuras’ sister calls Kyosei an ikemen and he hits his head on the door frame.
haha yea the ikemen part was great
What?! She doesn’t work part-time in a meido cafe as well?
/me book marks Sunday for the weekly hinano blab about the show.
In other news: 348 days more before:
Guy: Oh xxxxxx, you are so cute!
Girl: Oh yy, honeycakes!
-insert kiss and random noises-
-insert rose dropping off stalk-
-censored-
>_>
digi> rofl, and by that you mean 348 days till “alright let’s pack up our suitcases and fly to Disneyworld!!
“
Well, it’s not so secret isn’t it?
And I just found out that noizi itou also draws Dejiko! Not only shana but she fanarts dejiko!
I really must stop buying artbooks from Kino. Speaking of which went there today and saw Shugo Chara. Also saw much Hahiru and was thinking of *things* to do with them. Saw Shana XVI light novel and the sexy Yuji in black and long hair with his harem of Itadaki no Kuro and Shaisha no Gyakuri.
