Dark Horse to release Blood+ and Dayan
So about 
a month ago I was contacted by the Marketing Coordinator from Dark Horse and I said I wouldn’t mind pimping some of their stuff on this blog. While I don’t really do news posts for any kind of releases, especially US companies, I guess I don’t mind helping out once in a while. 
Anyway Dark Horse is releasing 2 things. One of them is Blood+ and unless you’ve been under a rock for the last 2 years you should at least know what that is. Now personally I never read Blood+ as it’s not really my type of genre but I did hear it has romance and I recall following some reviews from TjHan and Omni on the anime. The teaser page I was provided justifies that rumor right?
Well if you’re a Blood+ fan and you wanna support the industry pick up a copy once it’s released.
The other 
thing DH is releasing is some book about a cat named Dayan. I honestly have no flipping idea what this was until I looked it up. Dayan is apparently some children’s book hero in Japan like Curious George is in America. He’s also a cat (I wonder if he was the inspiration to make Chi’s Sweet Home?) Anyway I really have no idea what it’s about and MMC seems to have a better coverage of it. (The materials she got were probably the same but I couldn’t open like half of my attachments so I just gave up.) I can’t really rave about children’s books and I don’t know how famous it is in Japan but I honestly had trouble finding any google articles on it. As much as I love cats, I’m 5 times the age of the audience that this book is probably intended for. 
Man I suck at writing news posts. Maybe I should quit while I’m still ahead

When I saw the title of this post I thought, “Hinano is writing about American manga releases? What’s going on?!?”

I have no use for the cat. Kind of creepy if you ask me. Like he has an ulterior motive or something.
But I read Blood+, scanlation wise, years ago, then came the anime, subbed, then the American version just finished a few weeks ago in it’s first (and I think only) airing.
It takes me back.
You know, I think the Blood+ manga has been out for about a month now. I have a friend who’s a huge fan of the series, and she freaked out over it when it came out.

Maybe they wanted you to go, “OMG this is great, go buy it!”
Kiro> Yea probably. I keep looking at this post and I wanna vomit all over it. I don’t think I’ll be doing anymore of these unless they are relevant to my interests….and given how America’s releases are like 2 years behind my “interests” I can’t see myself posting this stuff anymore. Obviously I’m not the only person he sends this stuff to - and not as if I am paid to advertise for him, so I no longer feel “guilty” for not posting everything he sends to me.
You shouldn’t have wasted your time doing this post. After all this time I don’t think anybody cares about blood+, except its loyal fan-base, does it have one?, and the cat thing is freaky, I showed the picture to my niece and she told my sister that I wanted to scare her. XD
Hinano, I got an email about this too, and I agree these work better for news-type blogs. What I _do_ like is when publishers contact me and help me with giveaways along with a post about whatever widget they are advertising. That or it should at least be breaking news. I feel that is a more fair proposition than just me posting up a free ad for an industry player.
So you will be more tsuntsun to the next press release? I do think that we can all agree that the creepy cat was post-worthy.
Kabitzin> Yes definitely…and people are telling me Blood+ was already released for a month so that annoys me even more…its not a press release he wanted, it was shameless advertising!

The trick to selling out is: You need to get something for posting!

I’m not against the industry but I don’t support it either. By the time something gets released in America, if I actually cared about this show, I no longer do. Also most shows that get picked up these days are that one show I avoided (i.e. code gayass) I felt bad for not posting this but after hearing that he sent it to multiple bloggers , screw it I’m not doing it anymore XD
