Zettai Karen Children is not my cup of tea.

So while the shota and the erojiji were raving about this show, after watching it I just couldn’t feel the same way. (Although I am sad they didn’t invite me to their live viewing :( ) One thing that really annoyed me is Hirano Aya’s voice acting. It’s like she was trying so god damn hard to be all loud and spunky that it cames across as nails on chalkboard. Second, unlike Inukami with elephant wangs, having a guy shoot lasers out of his cock isn’t as funny when it looks like they’re coming from his abs. Finally, aside from the 20 year old guy and the lolis (they look like they’re 12 btw), every character’s design in the show is hideous. The animation in general reminds me of something like TriZenon, but the difference is Trizenon (and Inukami while we’re at it) had romance, while this just seems to be headed towards the gag/action show direction which really doesn’t interest me. I think the male audience will like it, but female audience, maybe not so much…unless of course you’re a Hirano Aya fangirl or just love these kinds of things. I never planned to watch this in the first place, and after a taste I guess I’ll have to pass anyway.

    Aw what! I’m surprised. I guess that proves again that tastes really can’t be predicted that easily :S. I didn’t like it as much as Inukami either, but I still had a good laugh.

    Also, why am I the shota? orz

    Awwww… I don’t even know how to get in touch with you at 5-10 minutes notice… not to mention that I was sort of drawn in by the Spoonsubs crowd on a lazy Saturday night just to watch the silly commercials playing during Onegai My Melody.

    I guess it doesn’t help that I don’t really use any chat programs except gmail and aim which I’m only on when I’m bored at work :P

    It’s alright, while you guys watched I was playing otome games anyway :lol:

    I guess I’ll have to admit that Hirano Aya’s voice acting on this one was a little “meh” for me too. Though, her Konota-like “ojisan-mode” was pretty funny. I can’t say the first episode was stellar, but as a manga fan, this was more than decent ^^ I just hope they don’t deviate too much from original manga.

    The thing is Aya Hirano really isn’t that good a voice actress and never was. It’s mostly that she did the voices of Haruhi and Konata and people attribute their love of those two characters back onto her as if she were them that she has any degree of noteriety. I didn’t even find those roles all that good and certainly not anything else she’s done. Considering she can only seem to land roles in kids shows and a mess like Dragonaut recently I’m pretty sure it’s a sign that few are interested in this overhyped medicore talent seiyuu.

    Luckily I dont’ watch shows just for seiyuu so I might give this a chance to see what I think of it. Hopefully Aya Hirano’s voice acting isn’t quite as overdone as people are saying but I can easily see it being the case.

    i liked Hirano Aya in like Haruhi, Busou Renkin & Sumomomomomomo, because she basically sounded the same. It wasn’t too annoying but nothing special. It was “fitting” and that’s all I really need. I don’t care about Lucky Star really but in this role she’s like trying to be a different voice or something but failing miserably.

    Actually … she was in Kiddy Grade, she voiced Lumière.

    True that Haruhi launched it into being made something she is not, Lucky Star ridden a lot on the “Kyoto Animation” factor.

    well.. thos girls are 10 years old.. so.. they are sure to be shota… unless u wan thos girls like in negima… where the 14 years old looks like 20++ and have huge boobs which is impossible in the real world…ahh i miss that :cry: hirano aya tried too hard this time.. it wound be fine to keep to the old self.. :smile: btw hino.. iv been wondering… is ther any link in zettai karen and between zettai shounen??
