Naruto Ship(poo)den goes into filler mode.
Well 
that’s it folks. Until god knows when, Naruto Shippuuden is gonna go into fillers. While next week does look like they are going to follow the manga with Naruto’s training, rather than say using that training to follow into the Hidan/Kakuzu/Asuma arc, they’ve created a cast of fugly filler characters (FFC’s) to waste time until further notice. (Notice how there’s never any GOOD looking filler characters?) Anyway due to this, I am halting my blogging of the anime AND the manga for now. Why manga? Because now that the Uchiha fight is over and Tobi is freaking invincible, I have nothing but hatred left for the Naruto series. I’ll come back posting if something exciting happens in either one (more likely the manga than the anime though.)
In the meantime I recommend this week’s episode mainly because of the funny Sai/Naruto/Sakura interaction as well as the Yakiniku scene between Naruto’s team and Shikamaru’s team. (And the famous Sai’s “bijin-san” line 
) Also the new ending features Naruto, Sasuke, Shikamaru, Gaara, and Sai in suits.
I don’t know why, but all I wonder is, why do they keep bringing back Sasuke & Gaara in the op’s or ed’s when they’re no longer IN the actual story? 
Oh well not that I really care anymore.

Why the hell are they going to fillers? Wasn’t the whole point of the terrible pacing to avoid ever going to fillers again? And they were just about to start an arc where crap actually happens!
Yea I know this is an absolute disastrous move on Studio Pierrot’s part. I think even the American narutards are starting to lose interest
i kinda lost my intrest for naruto ever since the fight over sasuke and his brother was over… the “ah.. i ran out of energy” part made my forehead coverd wif 1000 stright line down…. and i dun really wanna watch naruto again…
Um, wtf, they are so far behind at this point, I don’t even remember the part of the manga they are supposed to be on anymore. All that bad pacing and they have to stop again? Considering how bad all the other fillers have been, they are just asking for people to stop watching the anime.

Yes he’s incredibly pale. His face looked really weird throughout the episode too..and it was hillarious when he blushed

@Shin: I, too, will (shamefully) admit that I used to be a Narutard. But then, I entered the real anime world where I met “better” anime and loss that illness.

I want to be optimistic and hope that it is a single filler arc. Actually I don’t mind seeing more interaction between Naruto, Sakura and Sai. “Penis boy” is just so fun.
Son Gohan> It’s pretty confirmed…I mean if you see filler characters in the OP…most likely they are important enough to be part of a long filler arc.
wouldn’t of it been better to use those alternative mangas of them at school as filler?

Sigh. Well at least thanks for your patience Hinano! It would’ve been super easy just to drop the whole thing…hopefully we don’t have to wait too long to see “something worth blogging about.”

My inner fangirl wants to think that the new fillers are a way of giving time to reformat the show and hope that future episodes move at a faster pace; but my common sense says that there would be no need for fillers at all; they could just cut the crap.
I hate common sense some times.
It’s almost like I only watch it to ridicule it. If next week’s Naruto manga is about how Itachi was really a good guy, it’s over.

Fillers incoming! I had to rewatch the new OP three times because I was so shocked to see FFCs (nice acronym) I had to convince myself I wasn’t imagining it. Not only are they doing a huge filler arc that will probably last until fall (or why put it in the OP), but they never even animated the Kakashi Gaiden manga chapters where Kakashi gets the Sharingan! They were already barely animating 1 manga chapter per episode… vs Part 1 where it was a good 2.5 chapters per episode and even there they had tons and tons of flashbacks. If they start adding filler arcs and do *not* speed up the official storyline … *brain explodes*
I have to admit I enjoyed this episode. It’s the first time I’ve laughed while watching Naruto since that onbaa filler episode (#185, it was dumb, but made me laugh). The preview suggests they are going to have some Naruto training… followed by filler?
At least the new widescreen format (and somewhat better animation quality, or so it seems on the surface) may be an indication that they’re trying to improve things rather than dive into endless fillers that irritate everyone. ‘Benefit of the doubt’ mode complete. Ep 53 (minus flashbacks) had at least some relevance in Sai character building, and 54 a nice comedic ’short-fuse Sakura’ transition.
The video at the begnning of 54 was a bit too much for my poor old machine to render, so NOW I guess I need to get a dual core.

ack on that - My impression from the new format and better animation suggests maybe BETTER director/direction as well? One can only hope!
As for ‘FFC’ - I didn’t see very many Konoha ninja in there.. just Asuma’s team… and the “team Orochimaru” cameo if you count them. FFCs indeed. Opening music isn’t as good either. Ah, well. Not all change is for the better.
Well I can’t wait until the shippuuden starts hear in America becasue its the best show in the world.And fillers are so anoying, and why are are they showing Garra and Sasuke. If you all have the time to ridicule people’s work instead of enjoying it for what it repesents, your seriously out of reality’s touch. Naruto’s main idea is to be able to conquer your problems in life (3D) seen through a 2D lens. For all your ridicule, i’ll bet that none of you have the guts to create a story like Naruto or leave such a legacy that Kishimoto will be remembered for, unlike those who critize and are quickly forgotten.
